Word wars: a game that became very popular amongst Nanoers of November. The basic concept is you challenge a fellow writer to a duel of words. You set a target and the first one to reach the target wins. Although really, you both win because you both have extra words added to your piece.

To play this game, post in the thread you challenge. Eg/ "First one to 300 words!" and wait for someone to accept your challenge.

If the forum has people around, someone should quote your post and you post again when you have reached your target. You can post regular updates if you like to keep 'people' on their toes, but don't get too distracted from your writing.

If the forum is quiet, go to the next post.

Write or Die: A site set up for you to pit your skills against a machine! Feel free to have a browse of the site, but the tool you really want is on the right hand side. Enter your word count goal, then choose your mode.

"Gentle Mode
Normal Mode
Kamikaze Mode
Electric Shock Mode"

Then pick the setting.

"Forgiving
Strict
Evil"

Then click "write".

Be aware that if you stop typing, it will eat your word count! A good push to keep going. biggrin
