Private RP between Azael_Rose's Azureus and Lexenos the Knight's Kantobu
Yes! Third perfect leap in a row!
He whirled around, and started for his fourth, but tripped and went crashing headfirst into his brother. Kantobu thought it was funny, even if Azureus didn't. He whirled off once more and readied himself for another jump, a giant grin plastered on his face.

Azureus sat on his haunches sulking in his own thoughts. The first few leaps had gone unnoticed but by the third he started to grow irritated. "We need to do something, help someone. Not play around all day Kan."
The words came out harsher than he intended and was about to apologize when he heard a scream in the distance. Azure's ears perked up and he listened for which direction it had come from. He gathered it had come from the east, and he quickly stood before his brother could leap over him once more. Though he wouldn't be surprised even if he did, Kantobu was an excellent jumper.
"Did you hear that?! Someone needs our help Kan! And we're just the two to do that." He grinned happily now that there was something else to occupy his time. Secretly he hoped it was a damsel in distress but any old heroic type scenario worked for him as well.

Kan ignored the harshness in Azure's voice. He was too used to irritating Azure to let his snips get to him.
"Hear what? I didn't hear anything." He perked his ears up, listening to the quiet forest, but whatever it was didn't repeat itself. "Helping someone again? You're always trying to help, help, help." He suddenly paused, then grinned.
"I bet I can help before you can!" He hopped around in front of Azure a few times before the scream issued again, clearly from the east. "Ha, see, I'll beat you there and win! I'll leap up and save the day for you!" He lept over Azure once more and started leaping off toward the scream, chanting "I'll," "beat," "you" every time his paws hit the ground.

"Oh no you don't!" Azure dashed after his brother. Kan was just a tad faster but he made sure to stay right on his heels. He wasn't about to be upstaged by his 'sidekick'.
As they ran, they could the yells had stopped almost entirely. The two came across a clearing expecting to find the owner of the screams, but found it empty instead. Azureus' ears rotated as he searched for some hint of sound. A faint rustling came from a patch of bushes to their side.
Quietly he stepped towards it, muzzle pointed and belly low to the ground. Azure made a motion for Kan to be quiet. As he inched closer, the bush moved again then a piercing screech emanated from within it. Azure froze, undecided with what to do. But he didn't have to wait long before a small puffy bird with strange curled feathers hopped out of the bush and screeched at them - it's call eerily similar to the scream they had just heard. Then it flew off into the treetops.
Azure was left speechless for a moment. Then he turned to his brother. "Well so much for that, huh?"

When Kantobu realized that the screams had stopped, the seriousness of the situation settled onto his shoulders and h urged himself to run faster.
When they reached the clearing and found it empty, he followed Azure's lead and listened, looking around for any hint of life. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed Azure's motion, immediately tensing up.
He was stunned as he watched the weird bird fly off, but his barking laughter soon filled the air as he flopped to the ground and rolled over and over.
"Oh Azure, what would I do without you? I'd never have hardly any good laughs!" He paused to chuckle one last chuckle, before continuing. "There's always tomorrow, eh?"
