Bailey was astounded. Shocked to the tip of her tail she was. The young retriever pawed at the ground anxiously, her deep purple eyes darting from side to side and her tail wagging furiously behind her. This would be her first day as an agility dog; whatever that was. What excited her most were the dozes of objects and structures scattered around a grassy field too large to take in at a single glance. What were these things mean to do? Or better yet, what was she meant to do with them? Bailey could hardly contain herself as she paced in place at her handlers side, waiting for the moment when she would be dismissed, and allowed to explore her new surroundings.

"I can do this, I can do this!" Pantalaimon thought to himself as he turned the corner, heading for the dreaded see-saw. The tunnel, the hurdles, even the A-frame but not the see-saw. The young aussie ran up the one side of the strange contraption and waited for it to start to fall. When it did he let out a frightened yelp and jumped off the side. Pan looked up at his owner apologetically then happily trotted away after he was encouraged and dismissed. His amber eyes looked around at all the other pups and he saw one that looked slightly nervous. He trotted over to the colorful pup and sat infront of her. "It's actually fun, once you try it." Pantalaimon said encouragingly. "I'm Pan, what's your name?" The pup asked with a curious tilt of his head.

I wonder what that does? Bailey tilted her head to one side as she observed a particularly peculiar object; one side lying flat on the ground, the other side tilted up towards the sky. A slight patter of paws caught her attention, and Bailey turned her head just as a spotted aussie approached her. "What an interesting name." Bailey chimed, dipping her head slightly in greeting. "My name is Bailey. It's nice to meet you Pan. Now can you tell me," she paused, her brow furrowed in embarrassment, "What is the purpose of that contraption there?" She flicked her tail towards the structure she had been studying moments before.

"Hi Bailey!" Pan yipped, tail wagging a mile a minute. "You mean the see-saw?" The pup asked turning his head to look at it. "Well the point is to run up the side that is on the ground, then stop and wait for the side that is in the air to fall to the ground. After it's on teh ground you run to the next obstacle." Pan smiled at Bailey happily. "Is this your first day? If it is I could help you and we could learn new things together!" The aussie began to wiggle with excitment.

Bailey chose not to respond to Pan immediately. Instead, she padded over to the see-saw, and placed her paws on the grounded side of it. She tested her weight and it's stability before bringing her full body onto the plank, and pacing forwards. It was not as she had expected. As soon as Bailey's paws made contact with the middle of the structure, it began to tilt downwards. With a frightened yelp, Bailey scrambled off the side of the see-saw, and made and ungraceful landing beside it. Her ears hot, she padded to Pan's side. "This IS my first day. Help would be great!" She grinned sheepishly.

Pantalaimon stifled a giggle, seeing how he had just made the same mistake minutes before. "It's okay Bailey, maybe next time." He reasured happily. "Let's start with something else," Pan suggested sheepishly feeling slightly embarrased. "I can't walk the see-saw yet either." The merle pup smiled then trotted over to the A-frame, he turned to see if his new friend was following.

Bailey smiled, relieved. "This one seems simple enough." she woofed as Pan approached another structure. "H-how about you try it first?" Bailey pawed the ground feebly, not wanting to embarrass herself once more.

Pantalaimon smiled, he realized Bailay was a little nervous about the obstacles. He was to the first time he was here, he still couldn't do all the obstacles yet. "It is pretty easy, you just run up one side then run down the other." Pan scrambled up the A-frame then clumsly down the other. "The only difference is, it doesn't move. You try." The pup's tail wagged as he waited for Bailey to try.
