Xiangmao, or Xia as she was affectionately called, was in a great mood this day. A new land, a new place, who could guess what was around the next corner? Just like most others, she'd been a bit confused when she'd awoke on the island, but her sense of adventure took hold fairly quickly she'd found absolutely nothing to bore her yet!
She hoped this continued for a good long while.
This particular day, she was exploring the Ta'Poln grasslands, flushing out game as she came across it but not seriously hunting, just more having fun shocking the hell out of creatures than much else. She'd eaten much earlier in the day and was quite satisfied with life at the moment...could it get much better?

Sitting on top of a cliff, JingJing found himself on the edge, his tail dangling dangerously off tempting gravity with a grim fate. Though instead of concern he wore a smile of contentment, it was a joy just to breath the fresh air, to be alive and to know that life had so much in store! The days never seemed long enough, and he savoured every moment, whether he was hunting, making new friends or simply just enjoying the scenery.
And this new scenery? Well there was still so much to explore, so many people to meet, if he was here had everyone else woken to the new lands? Taking in all that the view had to offer he took a deep breath and got to his paws, it was time to move on, after all he'd spent the better half of the morning up here and he could see the sun shifting in the bright sky over the Flatlands he overlooked.
With a stretch he let out a yawn and started to chuckle "Bottoms up!" And with that he grabbed a giant leaf, jumped forward in the air, threw the giant leaf under himself and started back sliding down the cliff "Wheeeeeee!" It wasn't discreet in the slightest but the male lion didn't seem worried at all, instead he looked like he was having fun and it defiantly reflected in the volume of his roaring excitement.

Xia jumped as a loud 'whee' echoed across the land, and looked up to see what was going on. She had expected to see, perhaps, a few cubs playing tag but the sight of an adult male skidding down a cliffside on a large leaf surprised her. Sitting on her haunches, she watched him with a grin, waiting for him to come to a stop before approaching at a slow trot, her tail swinging behind her gaily.
"Hey, that looks like fun!" She giggled, looking him over and noted he looked alot like her family, at least color wise. With the leaves, he reminded her of her older sister Holly, and except for the markings on his belly, would pass as one of her brothers quite easily.

With each moment he gained speed, and the feeling of the wind flying through his mane was exhilarating! It wasn't till he reached the bottom and a few rough bumps and rocks slowed him down did he come to a rolling halt a few meters away from the foot of the cliff.
There was no doubt about his noisy entrance, from the whee to his hysterical laughter now, the lion was defiantly not being sneaky, in fact it was lucky he had started to calm himself and wipe the tears from his eyes when the lioness spoke.
JingJing had been so completely caught up in the whole thing he'd missed her, lucky he hadn't rolled into her! Or maybe she'd seen him and moved? Yea that was more likely "It so was, you should give it a try, fastest form of getting where you need to go too!" Smiling she exhaled the remains of his laughter and rolled to the side and up onto his feet. "Sorry if you had to move, I just couldn't resist an opportunity! I'm JingJing." Offering out a paw the lion smiled, he seemed open and posed no threat to her or anyone else for that matter, though sometimes others didn't quite understand that to his dismay.

"I'm Xiagmao....but you can call me Xia," she giggled, slightly confused with the action of holding out his paw to her, but quickly recovered and bumped her paw against his ((sorta like a fist-bum...paw bump? hee hee..!)) and bent down to inspect his 'ride'. "Wow, this island has more surprises every day...I can't blame you for wanting to try, I wouldn't of been able to pass up the opportunity myself. Mind teaching me how to do that? We could even race!"
She as giddy as a cub, fairly bouncing on the pads of her paws as she moved around him. An idea struck her, a crazy one, but she couldn't suppress her growing excitement at the idea growing in her head. Muttering to herself, she almost forgot he was there as she studied the leaf he'd ridden on and up to the top of the cliff repeatedly and from different angles. "Ya know...could almost...maybe with some supports...but how would we tie it...?

"Greetings to you Xia!" Then he too let out a soft chuckle of his own at the fist bump, he liked that and decided to switch to that rather than the silly formal shake he had aimed at. "Ah ha! So more did end up here too, always good to have company and share the beauty in it all." As his laughter passed his expression smoothed down to a exhilarating smile, he was looking forward to the rest of the day to begin with now with Xia he could just tell they were going to have fun!
"I'm totally down for that, if I'm honest I was just kinda winging it" He laughed again "Grab a leaf and jump, always good to aim for said leaf too" JingJing winked, he could imagine missing the thing ending a lot more painfully. Raising a brow he eyed her and couldn't help but join in her excitement, he didn't really have a grasp on what Xia meant just yet but it sounded like more fun and he was completely open to that!
"Tell me on the way?" He asked with genuine interest and nodded at the hill, they'd have to go round for a bit before it would give enough for them to climb but it just meant they'd have time to figure out what she was plotting.

It took Xia a few moments to break from her thoughts to realize he was talking to her, and laughed a little. "Aiming for the leaf...always good plan. I would HATE to come down this on my bum...!" She looked back up the way he'd come, made some mental calculations. "Wonder who could come down faster...wanna race when we get up there?" Huge grin split her maw, as she looked back at him...she was definitely going to enjoy this day, that's for sure.
Oh! and her idea...she'd forgotten for a second. "I'd almost think....if done right...even wingless lions could fly. I mean the leaf is definitely strong enough, if it could withstand the trip down a cliff with an adult lion on it. Can you imagine....Soaring with the land below you, the wind in your mane? Ooooh, that'd be the best!" Xia said, fairly bouncing around him as they made their way back up towards the top of the cliff. To be honest, Xia was as much looking forward to sliding down as she was to her idea as well, though she had no idea how to exactly make it work...it just seemed possible. It was one tough leaf!
