If you have a cosplay of you or your friends, post it here! heart I've been to a few conventions before, and I do own a Sailor Saturn cosplay...but it's really not good. So I'm not gonna post it. I hope members have better luck with that. heart

I've seen quite a few cosplays at conventions but...last year when I tried to get a pic of them they were really snotty about it. D: I hope I can find nicer Senshi in the future.

Oh what we go through for good cosplays 3nodding I'm curious, how much was the garnet rod? I've been wearing contacts since my sophomore year of high school, so they're nothing to me anymore. I think contacts add a bit of cool-ness to any cosplay. They're not essential, no, especially for people who physically cannot wear them, but when they're there, they're just that extra bit of awesome that can take a plain simple cosplay into something amazing. And also, I'm piggy-backing my contacts the whole time. Meaning I'm wearing the Pluto lenses underneath my prescription ones. Not recommended, but doable for a day or two.

Lucky, I wish I could stand contacts. xd Though the piggy-backing does sound like it's a bit risky. I would be paranoid of them popping out. >_> Where do you buy your costume contacts?

It's not about them popping out, it's about doubly cutting off oxygen to your eyes. Contacts already restrict oxygen flow, so to wear two pairs at a time cuts it off even more. It's not a good idea for every day, but for special occasions it's not a huge deal. I've gotten two pairs from www.exoticlenses.com, but they're pretty expensive. The Pluto lenses I got from www.dbeautyshop.com. and they were about half of what exotic lenses wanted for them. I even got a free contact case with the lenses.

I would love to get a pair just to try them out, but $300 is quite a ways out of my budget. burning_eyes

Did you make or buy yours? I can't sew to save my life, so I bought the outfit and had a friend help me modify it. Originally, it was just a pull-over dress, and it rode up and bunched up almost immediately. A friend of mine bought a Sailor Mars outfit and we got some cotton granny panties that we then sewed into the bottom of the dress. We cut the crotch in half then added snaps like a baby onesie, and the dresses look MUCH better. The dress itself is garbage. It's some of the worst fabric I've ever seen, and the neck hole BARELY fits over my head, and I even sent custom measurements to the seller. That's what I get for ordering from China, I suppose. We did also hem the skirt shorter quite a bit. There is no such thing as a too-short Sailor Scout skirt, right? I might commission my other seller and see if they can make a Pluto outfit for me, they already make the Inner Scouts, so why wouldn't they do Pluto, right? The colors are also off, the chest bow and back bow are two different colors, and the chest bow is shiny while the back bow is much more matte. I was thinking about getting a dance leotard and making my own scout outfit out of it. I was also thinking about getting a white overbust corset to give more of an armor-like look to the whole thing, which I think would be bad a**. Just being able to hide the busk in the center front is going to be the hard part. Or getting one super custom made so it just pulls over the head and laces up the back with no busk at all. I bought the boots and just sewed a bit of pearly white ribbon around the top to give it that point. The Garnet Rod was made by Studio Mallory of youtube, her website is www.moonprism.com, as were the earrings and the tiara, which is actual brass. I did, however, make the Belt of Keys and the resin heart brooch in the center of the chest bow. I am also thinking about trying to make new earrings out of resin as well. The ones I got from Studio Mallory are just cardboard glued to basic earring studs, so I'm thinking of making a clay mold, lining it with plastic wrap, then using some more of my resin-making stuff to make them shiny and pretty instead of kind of dull and dead looking. I need to wait for better weather, though. I am also hoping to make them a bit bigger, to hide my tunnels better. In the last picture, you can see the edge of my silicone ear skins, they make my stretched piercings look HUGE, which I guess is awesome ^_^. I didn't have enough time to order up proper silicone hider plugs, so I just wore my tunnels and wore the earrings in my second lobe piercing set. It worked out, I think.
