Bio: He grew up on a medium island in the west blue that, while having a number of incredibly wealthy bankers, was rife with unemployment, poverty and crime; organized and not. Dan was one of the many destitute orphans that scurried around the backalleys many having never known their parents. They picked pockets, steale food, broke into houses, mugged people and occasionally killed people and each other just so they could survive the next few days. Back then the kids did what they had to to survive but after Dan picked the wrong pocket one day he found himself fleeing from a local crime boss. Dan was only seven at the time but ran the don and his lackeys on a merry chase until he slipped on a loose ceiling tile. When Dan was caught the grunts kicked him about a bit and took what he had stolen back for the boss. Fortunately the mob boss was impressed. The man fed Dan a modest meal and gave him a job. From that point Dan spent a lot of his time ferrying packages and messages within and between the various crime families that ran the streets of his island. When he turned 13 he was given his first job as a bodyguard. Originally he was simply a part of the enterauge for a higher-ranking member of the family on a pick up job but when the deal turned sour he found himself protecting the family member who later turned out to be the don's son. The son was so grateful to Dan that he insisted he be his full time bodyguard so from then on he gained more money, permanant lodging within the son's own home and he could run in the more important circles. Not that he didn't pay his dues now and again. His fighting skills came in handy because backstabbing and subterfuge was a favourite game of the family members. When Dan was 16, however, the navy decided enough was enough and they rolled through the backstreets and the homes of the known gang members. They killed the grunts and locked up the heads. When they raided the son's house Dan was out drinking. It was his night off, luckily for him. When he returned to the ransacked house he saw the navy marching his employer off in handcuffs. He quickly realized his livelihood was gone and decided to follow the marines to their captain. When they reached the small navy ship he was stopped by it's guards but what he said none of them expected.
"I wanna enlist."
After a year, due to outstanding loyalty and efficient service he had reached Seaman first class but then the ship he was on took on a pirate ship far stronger than they were prepared for. The crew fought their hardest and the captain of both the marine and pirate vessel were in a one on one fight. The two ships were practically destroyed during the course of the battle and in the end there were no marines left besides the captain who was just barely holding his own against the enemy now and Dan. Dan made a move, making his way through and paralyzing each of the remaining pirates in succesion before making his way to the captains just before the final blow was struck on his captain. Dan managed to defeat the beaten down enemy captain and out of the two wreckages he salvaged a workable lifeboat. On the boat there were three bodies. The battered and bruised Dan, the dead body of the bounty holding pirate captain and Dan's dying captain. They reached a navy controlled island and got medical assistance but the captain was told he would barely make it through the night so he requested a den den mushi and as his last request put forth a warrant for Dan to be made an officer. The captain did die that night, succumbing to his wounds and injuries.
Dan recovered of his injuries over several weeks. He had several broken bones, a few bullets that needed extracting and some flesh wounds but he woul emerge relatively undamaged, however scarred his body now was.
Now all he needs to do is catch the next navy vessel out and join that crew.

Bulldozer - On a downed oppenent or an opponent on lower ground he jumps up and delivers a somersaulting back foot kick after focusing into it the force of two kicks.
