Gospel of Thomas
A little background info on this text. Due to the lack of a narrative we cannot accurately date this texts, dating 50 - 140 CE. If authentic, then could be one of the earliest records of Jesus' sayings, if not then it's a nice collection of sayings that though not from Jesus are still useful if we wish to use it. Classically referred to as a "gnostic" texts, it's being regarded less a Gnostic text and more as an early proto-Christian wisdom literature. The reason for it not being classified as a gnostic text is that there is no fall of Sophia, no mention of a Demiurge, and no complex cosmology.
So with this background in mind and to start getting our feet wet, let's post what quote or quotes we like or find interesting in this scripture and share what you like or why you find it troubling.
Edit: Corrected dating
