Dead money is definitely a DLC worth getting.

I got Dead Money shortly after it came out, and I have to say that it's been really great, and I'm not even done with it yet. The new weapons are cool, though not necessarily mindblowing, and for the most part it almost plays like a survival horror game.
My biggest gripes come in some aspects of the difficulty. There are times where I'd get stuck, and by the time I figured out just what I had to do to advance, I was a little ticked off at all the little things I had to do. There wasn't anything really deal-breaking, but sometimes I had to just put the game down.
I look forward to all future DLC if its similar to Dead Money.

I heard that supposedly there would be no dlc to continue the story similar to the broken steel dlc
