These are Nital's private rooms. They consist of a greeting room, library with main balcony, her bed chamber, her guard's bedchamber, and a guest bedchamber. A bathing chamber is connected to her bedchamber and another to her guest's bedchamber. Her guard must share hers. There is also a bedchamber and bathing chamber attached to the princess's via a three foot long two foot wide hall that is for physicians she often needs.

Nital is sitting in her greeting room in a rather plush chair. Her father furnished her private rooms so that no matter what chair or couch she sits or lays upon, the frail girl will be comfortable. She knows the windowless room is rather dark though it is daylight out. The doors leading into her library, where there are windows and a balcony, are closed. The fire is lit giving light and warmth. Violet eyes stare blindly into the fire. She is uncomfortable, having heard the commotion downstairs. She knows better than to go see what is going on. Someone will surely come check on her soon. After all, she has been ill again and running a small fever.

Pleased with himself for having pacified- at least temporarily- the raging man, the Grand Duke followed the swiftly walking servant through corridors and up a winding staircase. The servant excused himself once they reached the guard to whom Maximillian turned over his swords and showed his signet before he received a few documents left behind by other physicians. He glanced them over, he scoffed a few times as he absorbed the information left behind, trying not to think little of these obviously less talented individuals, "Enough, I'll understand better through my own power to diagnose," he said, setting the documents aside and motioning for the guard to let him in. He rolled up his sleeves and focused his mind on the task at hand.
Maximillian entered after he was announced by the guard and walked in slowly, adjusting to the very dim light naturally instead of simply using magic to assess the surroundings. He approached Nital slowly and knelt into a bow on one knee, "Princess Nital Enkil, I am Maximillian Kato and I have been summoned here to assess your health. I hope we can get along well," he said with practiced elegance, but knowing she was still quite young he also adopted a slightly amiable tone into the greeting.

Nital may be young but she does look a bit older than her age. A small trick of genetics though she will never look too much older either. Hands nearly as white as her hair grip the airs of her chair to help her stand as her "guest" is announced. Her violet eyes track his movements without seeming him, the tracking is slightly off, slightly slower than him. A slow smile tugs at her lips. She knows she must look a fright. They dressed her in the blue and white dress today. She most likely looks very much like a corpse because of it. "I was told you would be coming." Her voice is soft and a bit horse from a recent bout of coughing. Her glass is empty. She motions him up. "Please. None are here and I put little stock in formalities." Another small smile tugs at her lips. She knows not many outside the walls know of her intelligence. She has much time to read. "Nital will do just fine."

Maximillian took notice of her ability to follow his movements, although a bit slow and wondered if the slight lag was because she was following his footsteps or perhaps she had another method of detection that she just wasn't as experienced with. He smirks a little at her remarks, as he had a suspicion that she might prefer the brevity of informality over polite speech and honorifics, "Then please feel free to call me as you please too," he replied, standing back up. Once he had a good look at her he realized just how unusual her condition must be: she appeared frail beyond belief, like she was made of glass or even snow and whoever dressed her's choice in clothes did not help or do her justice, "Well then, please come this way please," he said, gently taking her hand. The Duke waved his other hand at a decorative table and chairs by the wall and brought them closer as well as warping them into something more suited for an examination, "Let's start with your own experience: what you know, what you feel, recent incidents. I think that is the best place to begin at; knowing what the patient feels is just as important as the examination itself," he explained as he set her down and sat opposed to her. The table had been bent so that the side opposite of both of them was raised and it fell to a depression in the middle before rising up slightly on their side.

Nital moves easily to his direction, not taking much to be moved. She is glad for a moment that she is so slight of weight. She would hate to be more of a burden. Tilting her head slightly, the thinks on her life and what has happened recently. "I have a fever that has grown worse the past hour and I have had a bad cough for the past day and a half." She glides her fingertips along the surface she is sitting on, exploring it slightly. "I live in darkness because I am blind and my skin rejects the sun. I burn in direct sunlight. I pushed it once when I snuck out and wound up with blisters." Violet eyes turn in his direction. "I've also lost weight again." She's unsure what else he might want to know.

Maximillian nodded, "I see, that's alright for now..." he said, taking her hand and placing it facing up on his own hand and began to send power through it. It filtered up through her palm and coalesced into an incredibly faint point of white light. Slightly surprised at this, Maximillian used more power to make the light bright enough to be examinable, although this light wasn't like normal light and wouldn't harm Nital- in fact, it would feel slightly cool where the light lay across her skin, "What I'm doing now is sending pure magical energy without any properties through your body. It picks up on your condition and allows me to analyze your condition," he explained and he used his other hand to spin the globe of light around. He saw some threads of red, yellow, and grey running through it, but before long his expression changed from his usual smirk, to surprise, to displeasure and anger. He remembered the locations of the colored threads and placed Nital's hand on the table with his own above it. His hand had gone slightly cold and shook once or twice before he spoke, "Nital... I've got a handle on how to relieve you of a few of those symptoms you mentioned before, but I want you to tell me a bit more about your blindness a moment- as well as your physical weakness. How long has it been like this, or has it always? Is the weakness concentrated anywhere or general? Things like that." His voice seemed to hold a mix of anger and emptiness, but clearly not directed at her.

She seems unfazed by the things he is doing. At his inquiries, she frowns. Had they told him nothing? "I have been like this since birth. I was cursed before my mother gave birth to me." Nital blinks her violet eyes at him. "I can see nothing, but I picture things in my head. I use my hearing and senses of smell and touch to do my best to determine where things are." She frowns more. "I know I am frail but... Father forbids me to do much, fearing I would hurt myself. I think it leaves me weaker than I need to be." Her pale brow furrows. Something is amiss in how he feels. "You feel angry now. Is something wrong? Did I not answer right?"

Maximillian put his free hand on his forehead and shook his head some, trying to think of what to say, 'I'm sure I sound either like a quack or I've not been informed of anything right now, but what can I say? Honestly, the real question is what kind of quacks did they had taking care of her before me? Did they know or just not care? Well, they locked her up here without regard for what she wants...' Working hard to maintain his composure he started to explain, not sure where he should stop or when he would, "No Nital, you've done nothing wrong. It just seems to me that everyone around you has done things wrong right from the start. At the very least you know that your condition is not natural, but a usual curse normally interrupts specific actions or causes general ineptitude when cast on humans," Maximillian then clenched his free hand into a fist, "But there is no curse on you. For certain you were cursed before you were born, but that curse is neither in your body nor attached to your soul..." He stopped speaking for a moment, looking down, "It wasn't clear at first when I started examining your condition since I didn't sense an impure magical presence when I entered so I had assumed you had fought off the curse sometime before and it had just left your body weakened; had that been the case I could have cured you with practically a flick of my wrist. When I checked before the light that represented your body and soul was very dim at a reading level that normally leaves a bright and clear image, which I thought was merely a consequence of your weakness. But the real case was that it wasn't dim, but it was effused with darkness emitted by a curse. It has taken refuge as a part of your soul, or mutually eliminated it, or... something, that's not clear at the moment."

Her blood runs cold. Nital finds it suddenly hard to breathe, her chest hurting. She clutches her dress at her thighs to distract herself, allowing the moment of panic to pass. It is hard to believe that things can really be that bad. She had hoped that the whole curse had been exaggerated to keep her here in her room. She smoothes her dress back into place and squares her shoulders a little. Nital manages a small for him. "Well, Max, it would seem my father has been keeping things from me, yes?" She nods slightly. "Well then... I will have to settle for getting rid of this fever and cough." She can't let this get to her. She can't. So she gives him a bit of a playful look. "And I suppose you should probably stay on long enough for me to put some weight back on, yes?"

Putting his hand on his face, Maximillian wondered if he had said too much as she suddenly became stricken. He dragged the hand from he face as she collected herself and did the same, sitting more upright and sending the table away; it would not be necessary, 'Ugh... don't smile like that...' he thought, expression changing from pained to a smirk as he saw her strength. Normally he would have laughed at the thought of being called Max, but at the moment he just stiffled a small chuckle and lifted her hand up, "Of course I can do that much... but I'd like to do some more too. For anyone but me I doubt it could be done, but I plan on getting you up to one hundred percent."

Nital blinks a bit, unsure how to respond to him. "That would be a lot to ask of you... And others have said as much before. You see the results." A thought enters her mind and she ponders it a long moment. She nods to herself slightly. "Besides... With the curse... My father can promise whatever man he gives me to that I will not run away and will be too weak to fight him.... A prize for any royal or ally, yes? Unable to run away, too weak to fihght back, and untouched by any other... Save for the kisses and small touches I have given away." She laughs softly.

Maximillian rapped his chest with his fist and said, "I'm not like the others, for I am a genius. Truth be told, I was afraid of this unknown, but even if I'm unsure of how to help you right now I will one day find out how." He finally let out a boisterous laugh, "It's the sign of a weak man to fear a strong woman! However, what you say is true of most royals and nobles, they want things they control and hold power over." Standing up, the Duke gathered power into his hand, placing it against Nital's forehead, "But for now, let's do what we can about that fever and cough..." His magic spread along the surface of her forehead down to her throat and shoulders. It gradually seeped into her body, cooling just a few degrees and soothing her throat. He then changed the magic and it passed into her throat and down to her stomach. She wouldn't have that much of a change of feeling at the moment, but for the next few days she would have more of an appetite, "This much should suffice for now to help with those three problems. I would stay for longer, but I do have another engagement soon."

Nital gives him another smile. It;s the most she has genuinely smiled in a long time. "Then I shall put my faith in your abilities." At his laugh, her smile brightens and becomes larger. "The sign of a weak man... I shall have to remember that. I certainly wouldn't want to be matched with a weak man." Though in truth she has no real say in the matter. Her father has final say in who she marries. It is the way of things and she knows that. With her unable to go out on her own, she is unlikely to meet anyone of note who would try to woo her and ask her father for her hand. Her father will give her to who he chooses. Unless she can somehow meet someone who comes here to the castle. Again unlikely. She blinks up at him. "Thank you for your help, Max. I hope your other engagement goes better than this did."

"Certainly not!" Maximillian laughs with her, wondering just what kind of man she had in mind; although he was aware of the unlikeliness that she had much control over that if she wasn't even let to be out of a room. He patted her on the head, adding, "It was my pleasure to help, and thank you, if it goes well then I will be acquiring a strong ally. If not... then there shouldn't actually be any consequence. Just a little bit of a disappointment." He stepped back, bowing and walking over to the door, "Until we meet again Nital." The door opened and he briskly walked out, breezing past the guard and out of the castle as quickly as he could.
