Ave Satana
Not so much a huge fan of Amon Amarth nowadays, but I will get the album, probably just download it. They're really great to see live too. very epic!
I was close to getting an autograph from all of them, but when i was walking up to the table they all got up and walked away. hahaha bogus!
Ouch. I seen them in Chicago with Belphegor, Ensiferum, and the Absence and it was epic. As. ********. I had a chance to speak with Johan(the vocalist)at the bar and he was chill as ********. A complete nerd - all we did was talk about video games and some metal interests. I REALLLLY wanted to hang with Belphegor, but they left quickly. I sold my PS3 to go to that show and it was soooo worth it. I also caught the Nacthmystium "Assassins: Black Meddle" cd release show the next day too - that was awesome.
Amon Amarth is one of the few "sell out"
* bands that I still enjoy, despite their musical style. They procreate some amazingly beautiful riffs, nay, songs, so all in all, I'm looking forward to the new album. I own all of 'em so I'll buy it eventually for my AA collection, but I'll download it to listen; I've been searching all day for a leaked copy actually... no avail.. I'll let you know though if news changes on that front.
What's you favorite album by them? Mine was and still is Fate of Norns.... Valkryies Ride.. c'mon that song is heavy as ********. Once Sent from the Golden Hall is awesome too.. Victorious March is an incredible track.
I'd have to say though that the ending track from Twilight of the Thunder God, Embrace of the Endless Ocean, is great and so is Tattered Banners & Bloody Flags.. so that album all in all wasn't that bad, but earlier stuff had more agression I think.
*To clear it up too: I don't think they sold out, just got big naturally, but they have changed. However, they kept their roots and improved upon them. I have nothing but respect for those ********.
