Quietly, he looked around. Not familiar with this territory, Dion had found himself in a new place. Unfortunately, with new places comes new wolves, and new wolves usually means new packs, which means -- you get the picture.
Not to sure where to go, Dion found himself simply walking. Walking where? Who knows. He didn't really care. It was all about the adventure after all! If he were to bump into another wolf ... well, maybe he'd have to keep his guard. He was friendly, but that didn't mean everyone else was. The fact that this particular forest had even the slightest form of shelter and protection meant he could meet up with someone at any given moment.

KIra was gone more and more lately, so Esther was realatively alone. She couldn't remember the last time she ate, because she didn't really like to hunt. She must be a pathetic kind of predator, refusing to hunt as she did...Hanging her head slightly, Esther sighed. Resolutely, though, she looked back up. She would not let herself feel sad!
Marching from the den she had shared with Kira up until recently, Esther held her head high. She'd find food - and she wouldn't hunt for it. There were berries, and nuts, and..other things, right? She just had to find them! Perhaps, though, she'd meet up with something else. As she made her way between the trees in her aimless search, Esther saw something white, black, and red move, and gulped. She'd always stayed away from other wolves...

Preoccupied and distracted by his surroundings, Dion found himself looking around literally aimlessly. As his stomach began to growl, he realized that it has been awhile since he last ate. Well, really, it had only been a few hours, but his appetite never seemed to settle since he was always on the move.
It wasn't until he felt another's presence that he stopped. Looking around through the trees, he glared. Maybe he was just imagining things. Who knows ... but a gentle smell caught his nostrils. He definitely wasn't alone. As a growl formed in his throat, he wondered if it'd be wise to call out or not. Confident in his ability to protect himself, he decided he didn't care, "Who's there?"

A growl from the thing that had moved caught her attention. So it was another wolf. Even the calm-tempered Esther had been a little agitated by this form of greeting - a growl for no reason at all. Boy, if Kira had been here, this male would be in trouble - But Kira wasn't here, Esther. You need to learn to stand up for yourself.
But her voice froze. As much as she wanted not to be timid, and to call back just as offensively, she couldn't. Maybe she was too nice. Or maybe she was too afraid of upsetting others. In any case, the female didn't know what to do. Defiance burned a reply out of her throat though, even if her voice had sounded a lot more frightened than she had wanted it to, "Esther."

Hrm, female. He thought. Standing his guard for only a moment longer, he flicked his ears back and forth a second, before relaxing his shoulders and giving himself a more .. approachable position. Normally, female or not, he'd keep his stance .. but, she seemed to have a quiver in her voice. She was no harm to him.
"Esther?" He mumbled, "I mean no harm." He glanced around the trees; still not being able to actually see her. My name is Dion. I'm new around these parts."

Some wolves were just always on their guard, and she found herself comparing this Dion to Kira with the level of defense. She soon was dragged from her thoughts though as she slowly emerged from the cover of the thicket, so that she was facing him.
"Hello Dion." Esther figured she should be polite, even if she was wary about males, or...anyone, to be honest.

Dion's brows perked as she emerged from the forest. Pretty, he thought, but the chances of her being already mated were great. A new wolf should probably watch himself around these parts. There was no real point in making any enemies, and he preferred to avoid conflict for most of the time. Unless it was a play fight, or someone was messing with his pack.
Wait, what if these wolves had different traditions of greeting each other? Like, they had to bow or some s**t. Hesitating a moment, he bowed his head briefly, "Hello Esther. I apologize for being so defensive. Never know what new wolves are like." Smirking, he cleared his throat, "So, I take it you're from around here?"
