Humans must learn to stand on their own. This single thought has been instilled in every one of them. Their old Guardians had to be forced out because of corruption, and it left humanity vulnerable to the world. Humans needed to learn to stand on their own, and they did. Three different schools of magic emerged: Enchantment, Illusion, and Necromancy.

It was only thanks to these different magics that humans could survive, but the school’s were divided by their pride and soon became rigidly separate. Their hubris led to strain within society. This is no more obvious than the capital of Vidgrad. Within the walls of its parliament debates are held amongst the three schools that shift the source of power in the city. Outside heated arguments turn to fights which turn to riots. The world has become a dangerous place, and the only way to survive in it is to pick a side.

The city of Vidgrad is divided into thirds in the obvious way. There is a block or two for transition between the thirds that are made up almost entirely of shops that cater to the needs of the two magics on either side of them. In the center of the city a large circular building acts as Parliament, where the most knowledgeable of each magic attempt to govern the city and the country. The schools of magic are hidden within each third, their locations kept secret lest they be targeted for malicious ends.

Enchantment: The transformation and/or redirection of energy. This is accomplished through the written word, and very rarely the spoken word. The more specific the wording the more efficient the enchantment will be and the less energy will be lost during its use. Most enchantments are activated by a word, usually short to make activation easier. The enchantment can be written anywhere and, in theory, can cover as large an area as the Enchanter wants, but it becomes exponentially less efficient with an increased area of effect.

Illusion: The tricking of the senses. The area the illusion covers is determined by a ring of crystals, which can include a switch. Different kinds of crystals make it easier or harder to trick different senses, making a ring with a variety more versatile. The crystals effectively let the Illusionist project what is in their mind into the area, so although it is possible to trick all five senses it is very difficult since you need to juggle five things at once. A skilled Illusionist can delegate part of the illusion to anyone caught within, letting the mind(s) of anyone caught within generate their own illusion. This is risky because the moment the person suspects they're in an illusion it will become more difficult to sustain it.

Necromancy: To bring the dead back to life a Necromancer needs four things: an object that holds some kind of sentimental value to the person being brought back, a wind instrument to guide the soul back to this plane, a body for the soul to inhabit, and a void scroll to allow the soul back into this plane. Though the body doesn't have to be the original, it does make the process far easier. The person's old personality can show if allowed, but they will be a shadow of their former self at best. This means even if a charismatic leader is brought back, they will no longer be able to stir hearts and minds. However, this does relieve the Necromancer of the task of controlling the body to some extent. This is often utilized when a Necromancer is attempting to control different bodies at the same time. The current record is five bodies.

Ormand sat at a table outside a café, his back to the rising sun as it warmed the back of his head. Classes wou;d start in about half an hour, but it was a Friday and like everyone else, he hated working on Fridays. The only reason he was the only one that normally got away with it was because he had a knack for letting the old personality shine through whenever he brought someone back, and that included teaching ability. So he was free to sit through the morning, sipping his espresso and waiting for a good conversation. This was more than likely seeing as he was on the border of the Enchantment third. He had tries something similar in the Illusion Third, but had found he got better conversation from Enchanters.

Soku was making her way toward school with a bunch of her friends as usual. The cafe just so happened to be a normal stop for them in their morning routine.
Soku and the 3 other girls were giggling and talking as they approached the cafe. The girls all eyed the interesting man sitting outside, and the group got a little quiet as they entered.
They ordered their coffees and muffins, then exited, with all eyes side glancing at Ormand once more. Soku seemed to smile politely and nodded her head in respect.
They made their way to an adjacent table and sat. The 3 girls chatted happily as Soku picked at her muffin and sat quietly. Occasionally glancing over at the man she'd never seen before.

*A young man about the age of 21 walks by the cafe, a shovel slung over his shoulder and a scythe strapped to his back. He's whistling a jaunty tune as he heads toward the cemetery. There is a small silver flute resting behind his ear and his fingers seem to each have either a silver or gold ring, some men, some women's rings.*

"Now all I have to do is find it." he pauses and frowns "Yeah yeah. you're a ghost, what could you possibly do with a solid gold pocket watch?"

Soku's gal pals never seemed to notice the weirdo walking by who was talking to himself.
Soku noticed him right away (being the very observant person she was). She had been taking a bite of muffin when all the sudden she stopped her hand in mid air, scrunched her eyebrows in perplexity and cocked her head sideways.

"And I thought this guy was off... Now I'm seeing fricken Grave Robbers!" muttering under her breath.

She sighed while shaking her head.

"Well girls, I just remembered I had something to do today. I think I'm going to have to miss some school today."

There was an audible "Awwww!" That came from all the girls in disappointment.

Soku darted into the cafe, changed out of her school uniform and came out wearing her samurai garb. She gave the curly haired man a wink and then ran off toward the cemetery.

"Yeah I know, I saw the samurai too." Alucard sighed and looked at the rings on his fingers wondering which spirit he could call up to distract the follower. "Meh." he looked to his side. "Maybe she'll help once we find your tomb. Money talks you know."

Tussel had gotten up early to take advantage of his day off from a rather busy week and in no time, found himself inside the little cafe` for a good couple of hours, gladly enjoying as much as he could eat (about the same amount that his on-hand cash could afford).
He was content with such a morning... until he noticed the girl who ran in, in some sort of school uniform, and back out in what he considered strange garb. He set his money beside his plate, and then walked out to the tables outside, watching the girl as she disappeared into the streets. "Now there goes a curious lass... so... determined. Makes a man curious." he commented to the man at the table beside him. "Perhaps someone should follow her... to see what she's up to?" he smiled at the man, and waited just enough before pursuing the girl as casually as he could. "Wish me luck!" and he waved the man goodbye.

Ormand has a smile on his face from seeing the girl rush inside and come out in some strange clothing. The only reason she had done that was likely enchanted, which meant that an Enchantress was after a Necromancer. His grin got even bigger when someone else came out of the cafe and said something about making sure she would be okay. A glance at the man and Ormand ruled out two magics, pegging the man as an illusionist if anything. So now he had an Illusionist following and an Enchantress chasing a Necromancer. Nothing this interesting had happened in years.
"Hey Harold, you mind if I borrow Katie for a bit?" He called in to the café's owner.

"Sure, its a pretty slow day and she was yours originally anyways." He called out. It was true too. Roughly four years ago Katie had tripped at the top of a flight of stairs and had broken her neck when she fell. She had been one of Ormand's first buys at the morgue.
"Thanks." he said turning to the waitress that had brought him his espresso to begin with, "I'll be heading to the graveyard. Go get into something a little more inconspicuous. and meet me there." She nodded her head in confirmation and went inside. Ormand looked at the remaining contents of his cup before slamming it back, the harsh bitter liquid doing more than waking him up. After that he got up, set his sights on the Illusionist and set off after him.

((Sorry for the wait. Real life can be inexplicably time consuming.))

The Enchantress was gaining on the Necro fast. She hung back, hiding behind buildings and trees. The last time she stopped to hide, she noticed something out of the corner of her peripherals...A man following her! And he looked... Tall!
"Why's everyone so much taller than me... it's just not fair." Mumbling to herself again.
She glanced around at the Necro again before darting unseen over her follower. She pushed at him, trying to hide him behind the nearest tree or building. Soku looked up at him kind of like a small child would to a grown adult.
"What are you doing here? Were you following me?"
She understood why she was following the gravedigger, but was boggled why someone would be following her.
