This is a battle tutorial for the Trainer named Erd Saikic.
If you haven't read the Battle and Example Battle threads, you should do so. They may seem confusing, but they will help you to understand battling.

A lone Pokemon Trainer named Mikkel stood inside of an empty arena. The Trainer had light brown hair and a pair of excited blue eyes. He wore fairly basic clothing, which he favored because it was very comfortable. Mikkel heard a high pitched creaking noise towards the entrance of the large building. After looking in the direction of the sound, he noticed a fledgling Pokemon Trainer enter the space. Without taking the time to properly introduce himself, he shouted, "Hey! I challenge you to a Pokemon match!" He then reached down to his belt, withdrew a shiny Pokeball, and lobbed it into the air towards the newcomer. As it began to fall towards the ground, the Pokeball opened, releasing a bright red light. After the light faded, a pink blob was revealed. The Trainer shouted once more, "Let us begin, go Dopple!" Mikkel had a confident look on his face, as if he expected to win the battle before it began. He was confident that his Ditto would be able to handle anything that came out of his new opponent's Pokeball.

A single violet eye lazily loomed over to where the light had illuminated the small arena. A small glob of pink jelly with small eyes and a thin mouth was staring at him. He looked over at the commonly looking boy. Was this person talking to him before about the challenge? Erd was considering to walk away. There wasn’t much to gain from a battle here and now. The rose head needed to be in other places. They would be checking up on him soon. Then again….
He had not gotten a chance as yet to try out this pokemon. Before getting into real confrontation it would be good to test just how strong his pokemon was. If it was strong he would keep it. If not it’d be replaced at a moment chance. Either way…. it didn’t matter. A peach hand flicked open a silver case containing one black and yellow ball. He tossed it into the field and a light illuminated the field as before. “Let’s end… No. 13 go.” the youth stated calmly turning his lazy and stoic attention towards his opponent.
At first there appeared to be nothing that came from the ball. After a few seconds of silence just above the pokeball the air became darker and darker. Dark enough that it seemed that there was a shadow in levitating from the ground. A shadow with no master, but it did have one. Two pupils shimmered with a mixture of yellow and blue light. This shadow's body seemed to be a cape with round head and at the top the head was horn. Unlike the pink formless water before it, the dark shade made mischievous curve of it's mouth before yipping it's name. "Shuppet!"

Since the Trainers have used up their Trainer Action step by summoning their Pokemon, the Pokemon may now use their moves.
Number 13's speed is greater than Ditto's, so it will use a move first.

Erd decided not to wait for the pink blubber to make a move. After all it did not matter what it did. What mattered was how Shuppet did. “Win. Or I may have to replace you…” the violet eye stated to which the ghost pokemon turns around. It anxiously begins to yip, but Erd only points forward with his index finger. “Hey, hey… don’t take your eyes off it. Use Screech.” Is the boy’s only reply.
The creature turned around sucking in large amount of air through its mouth. This made its head swell larger than normal. It moved closer to the bubblegum pokemon staying only a few feet away before opening its mouth. The high pitched scream was focused only at the target but it was audible enough for the world to hear.
Screech – Normal The user emits an irritating yell, which shatters the target’s defenses. EOT – 4 Ranged None Effect: No Target, Burst Screech creates a 4-meter Burst. All Legal Targets have their Defense lowered 2 Combat Stages.

As soon as Mikkel heard the word, Screech, he covered his ears. Unfortunately, this wasn't nearly enough protection to stifle the piercing sound of the Shuppet's voice. The youngster wasn't sure how any being, living or not, could make such a sound. He cried out towards the opposing Trainer, "Hey, that hurt! You should NOT do that again!" Mikkel then looked at Dopple and realized that it had been similarly affected. The Trainer grunted and then spoke his command, "Let's show them that two can play at that game, Dopple. Use Transform and show these two your true power!" With that said, the pink ooze began to glow ever so slightly. As the light intensified, its form lifted off of the ground and shifted from that of a puddle into that of a clock flapping in the wind. It had changed into a Shuppet!
Transform – Normal The user takes on the form of a pokemon they see, learning all of their abilities and gaining all of their knowledge. Battle – None Ranged None Effect: No Target The user assumes the form of any Pokemon it sees and learns all of that specific Pokemon’s Moves, gains its ability, copies its weight and height and knows everything the Pokemon knows for the encounter, or until the user chooses to revert to its original form, or the user uses Transform to change into something else. The user still knows the move Transform after they have transformed. The user’s Stats do not change.

The round ends. Trainers now get their Action Step. Since Erd's Dexterity is higher than Mikkels, he will get the chance to use one first. He may also elect to skip it if he chooses.
For a list of things that you may do as a Trainer during your action step, check out the Basic Trainer Actions thread in the Game System.

Even Erd had to admit that the screech probably had the same effects on as it did with everyone else. Still his posture and demeanor only showed slight annoyance to it. What actually made the boy’s face change into an almost stupefied expression was when the bubblegum pink shimmered with a light brighter than when it originated from its pokeball. The light made Erd squint slightly, but he kept the violet orb on the person. The form lifted into the air and the shape began…. to… “what??” was all he could think as bubblegum pink became midnight blue. The two dotted eyes were replaced with a glowing mixture of yellow and blues. It had become a doppelganger of the original!
“That’s…. unexpected and interesting…” the crimson hair stated cooly hiding most of his excitement. The reality was that this did take him off guard. “There are pokemon with such abilities??”. He needed to know more. His fingers pulled out a ocean blue device. He flipped the top open and pointed the pokedex at the creature while staring into the screen. The screen showed in the lower left corner a pinkish round pokemon with a microphone and musical notes rising above its head. It was taking a few seconds to load.

“Transorms with only that attack?” Erd pondered. Of course if that were its only attack the boy would be safe. Not so. At least for his tactical mind to believe. If it now looked like a Shuppet and sounded like a Shuppet it probably had the same attacks as a Shuppet. Although…. This could be an advantage. “No. 13. Use Knock Off.” the youth stated staring at the pokemon mimic. Before this occurred, the original Shuppet was glancing in much curiosity at this pokemon. He had found another like it? A new friend? Its body was circling around it until it got the order to attack from its master. Shuppet looked towards the order giving boy and then back to the opponent.
With a mischievous grin the twilight blue shadow closed its eyes and seemed to go into a meditative state. It made a small growl. At the same time a brown mist of energy was conforming just above the Ditto acting as Shuppet. No. 13 made a little yip and from the dark brown mist came a four clawed hand that slapped down from overhead threatening to knock the opponent’s head and body to the floor.
Knock Off – Dark Ignoring the target, the user focuses on their held item, cruelly destroying the prized item. EOT – 6 Melee Physical Damage Check: 1d8 Effect: 1 Target If the target has a held item, the target drops it. Knock Off destroys the item if you roll 16-20 on the Accuracy Check.

The attack misses Ditto.
Thankfully, the ghost's move missed its mark, giving the Ditto a chance to counterattack. Mikkel shouted out to it, "Dopple, hit it with a Screech and then we'll start to wear it down!" With that said, the Ditto mimicked the move that the Shuppet had used earlier by sucking in a large amount of air, and then releasing it in a shrieking noise that caused the windows in the arena to vibrate. Luckily, the glass had been prepared for most kinds of Pokemon moves, so they didn't shatter. The young Trainer hoped to lower the opponent's defenses before hitting it with all that Dopple could muster.

The screech was barely passable the first time hearing it when it was not even directed at him, but the second time around being in the line of sight of the move was irritating. Erd put both his palms to his ears and closed his eyes. Shuppet unfortunately did not have the luxury of arms to cover its head. The pokemon’s head dropped down into the rest of its body, making it look more like a floating black rag. The rag shook from side to side.
Once the move was over both trainer and creature had a displeased look on their faces. There are just certain times that no one likes a copy cat. “No. 13 use Knock Off and don’t miss.” the youth stated to his pokemon. The twilight blue shade began to charge energy as last time. This time nothing happened though. Erd stares on as the move bistre energy dissipated instead of forming into the mist like form as before. “It can’t continuously use the move? Is there a dely?” he thought. Just great. His pokemon seemed to need glasses and then could not even continue on the offensive. Replacing it with something else was all the more looking better.
“Use Screech again…” the trainer stated. Once again the little creature puffed its head up to a swollen sized and released an ear piercing howl at its doppelganger.
