Have you ever written something that you thought was a master piece and somehow it ended up totally destroyed?

haha well a few days ago i wrote a poem about about my boyfriend and I's break up (mainly involving my guilt), I thought it was an amazing poem so i stuck it in my back pocket but i went to the bathroom and when i was about to flush... the poem had sliped out of my pants and into the toilet in which i already did my "business" in... i decided it wasn't worth fishing it out so i flushed it lol but i remember most of thankfully lol

I remember when I had written my first poem called French Fries. It was a great poem but my dog just had to... ya know #1 on it.

Yeah, I had something like that too
But nothing involving a toilet.
My friends asked me to go to a forest with them (Near my bf's house)
I brought my poem to work on it.
They brough me to a little pond/lake thing in the middle of the forest and threw me and my friend in u.u
It was completely destroyed
I got a few lines from it but the rest I tried to remember, it wasn't the same u.u

I have written pieces that I thought were a masterpiece, but I haver never
gotten disappointed when it got destroyed. If the work gets destroyed, then I
just simply write another masterpiece on a new, fresh, piece of paper. If you
think it's a masterpiece and someone else doesn't, then you shouldn't care. It's
your work, and you should be the one deciding if it's good or not. Compliments
are great, but I do not believe that they are needed to tell you if you did a good
job or not.
