For this event we're raffling off some very special prizes! 1st Prize - Stone Gauntlets 2nd Prize - 8,000 3rd Prize - 4,000 Everyone who doesn't win a raffle prize will get 200 gaia gold. To be entered in the raffle you must post something sabbat related in THIS thread. It can be a Imbolc/Lammas ritual, spell, craft, recipe...The list goes on! So post away. YAY!! First to post this Sabbat!!
Blessed Imbolc for us in the Northern Hemisphere and Blessed Lammas for our brothers and sisters in the Southern! As your days continue to get colder, the fires continue to warm us.
This year, we're going to just be having a simple Ritual for our Coven and I will begin planning my first coven Ritual for Litha.

Imbolic the passage from the icy and marvelous months of winter to the pleasant, warm and colorful days of spring. When the ice melts to make way for the plants and when the animals and insects come out to play. During this time I pray that as the north becomes warmer and the south colder that we remember that we are all equal in the eyes of the goddess.

A Very Blessed Imbolc/Lammas to all. Imbolc, (pronounced "IM-bulk" or "EM-bowlk"), also called Oimealg, ("IM-mol'g), by the Druids, is the festival of the lactating sheep. It is derived from the Gaelic word "oimelc" which means "ewes milk". Herd animals have either given birth to the first offspring of the year or their wombs are swollen and the milk of life is flowing into their teats and udders. It is the time of Blessing of the seeds and consecration of agricultural tools. It marks the center point of the dark half of the year. It is the festival of the Maiden, for from this day to March 21st, it is her season to prepare for growth and renewal. Brighid's snake emerges from the womb of the Earth Mother to test the weather, (the origin of Ground Hog Day), and in many places the first Crocus flowers began to spring forth from the frozen earth. heart

this year i am hoping to successfully make a corn dolly for imbolc. last year i wasn't so lucky and made what seemed more like a mess. but i used it anyways. ^_^ sometimes it is the thought that counts. have an splendid imbolc/lammas everyone!

I don't know how much I really have time for this year. I've been so busy I haven't really observed much in the way of Sabbats other than knowing that they were happening. Between college and my boyfriend being in the hospital, there has just been a lot going on. However, here is a picture from last year with my budget-alter lol Really it was just an old speaker but it worked smile

Wiccans celebrate a variation of Imbolc as one of four "fire festivals", which make up half of the eight holidays (or "sabbats"), of the wheel of the year. Imbolc is defined as a cross-quarter day, midway between the winter solstice (Yule) and the spring equinox (Ostara). The precise astrological midpoint in the Northern hemisphere is when the sun reaches fifteen degrees of Aquarius. In the Southern hemisphere, if celebrated as the beginning of local Spring, the date is the midpoint of Leo. Sometimes the festival is referred to as "Brigid". Among Dianic Wiccans, Imbolc (also referred to as "Candlemas") is the traditional time for initiations.[21]
In Wicca, Imbolc is commonly associated with the goddess Brigid, and hence the Wiccan Goddess, and as such it is sometimes viewed as a "women’s festival" with specific rites only for female members of a coven.[22]

Well I did my ritual, and I also had a curry. And I lit candles in every room at sunset. It was nice.
