"The world is changing so fast, and we're all running to catch up. I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but look. Dinosaurs and man... two species separated by 65 million years of evolution, have suddenly been thrown into the mix together. How can we possibly have the slightest idea of what to expect?"
Scientists are able to bring dinosaurs back to life and a wealthy man named John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) builds a theme park/zoo to house the resurrected animals on a remote island. He invites 2 paleontologist, Alan Grant (Sam Neil) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern). Along with Chaotician Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum), they go on a sneak peek tour of the park. But when the park security systems shut down, all of the dinosaurs become loose on the island including viscous Velociraptors and a relentless and mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex, they must try to survive being eaten and get off the island.
This movie is one of the few films where it's practical effects and computer generated effects blend flawlessly, the dinosaurs in the film look absoulutly amazing. That first scene where Dr. Grant points at the Brachiosaur and says: "Uh... it's... it's a dinosaur!" I feel almost mirrors the reactions of the people who first saw this movie in 1993.
The story seems plausible enough that it could actually happen in real life. It hasnt happened yet (for obvious reasons) but at least we can still marvel at least we have a movie that brings back the Dinosaurs as they probably were when they were alive for us to marvel at.
My Rating: 8.5/10
