Gotham is one of those dark cities that tends to consume people. Not a shinny city like Metropolis, Gotham tends to be inspire evil. Even her heroes are darker. While Metropolis has the boy scout Superman, Gotham has the brooding Batman. As Metropolis's evil villain is Lex Luther, Gotham has the Crown Prince of Crime himself the Joker! Its place were crime runs rampant and anything can happen.

The Rain came down hard this night in Gotham, Batman has died and the battle for the cowl has begun. Two new Batmen have appeared, One who acted like the old batman, and another who used guns, and was not afraid to kill. It was this night that Jack Toland Jr. equiped with a uzi, a grenade, a handgun and a couple loads of ammo, started his quest for revenge.
Jack brought his handgun to his head, but before he could pull the trigger, he saw a red light flew towards him. He heard a voice in his head. "Jack Toland Jr. of Earth. You have great rage in your heart. Welcome to the Red Lantern Corps." The ring slipped on Jack's hand and he doubled over in pain, his blood felt like it was boiling. The Batman left the man to die in the dark streets of crime ally. Jack puked in the streets, Glowing red blood came out of his mouth, and it boiled on the ground. Jack saw images in the blood. He saw himself flying to a planet with a river of blood that he had never seen but his ring informed him it was Ysmault, and he began his quest flying towards Ysmault.
