has anyone else noticed that hussie's been cheapening important moments like when alt dave, tavs, and feferi died by inserting humor into where it shouldnt be? like those moments would have done a lot better if he hadnt put jokes in there. like terezi pretty much murdered the guy she loves (unconfirmed but totally true), and two really important characters died, and HE PUTS JOKES IN ALL OF THEM. like the DEAD sound effect on its own is way uncalled for. those scenes would have been a lot more meaningful and would have made the story in general a lot better if he just didn't put jokes in. ******** RANCOROUS

Well if there was no sound effect then we would have never known if they were actually dead or not.
I think he tries to make it humorous for us so we don't feel so attached to these characters as it seems there are many more deaths to come.

When someone dies, two things happen:
1: People get upset
2: People look for some way, ANY WAY, for them to be alive. If it's not officially declared via sound effect, no one's going to believe it.
The silly slightly off-balances the first (either making it easier or worse, apparently) and the DEAD and KO'D ends the second.
Also remember it was tough for him to kill off Kanaya.
Actually why don't we all take a minute to read his new formspring.

I think it's better with him joking, because he wants you to realize that this is all just bullshit. He's good at dragging you into the plot, and then throwing in a goddamned Peter Pan reference. *sigh*
