Listria, the Trading Capitol of Tristia

While the Crystal City may be the real capitol of the Tristian Continent, it is Listria that is the Trading Capitol. Being the largest city on the coast only helps to make this city increasingly successful. It has the largest port of all the cities and towns making it the best place to bring in goods from any of the island states. It is also the second wealthiest city, by far, due to its port and healthy trading system.

City Interests

Bright Water Port:
Bright Water Port, the largest of all the ports along the coast line. It can accommodate the largest of ships, and is always busy twenty-four seven. Like clock work the ships come and go, always moving and on business. There are ports for commercial ship traffic though it is relatively small area compared to the trading area and the military shipping area. This port has gotten its name because of the light gems that float in the water. These large aquatic crystals are very common and not worth anything, but they give off a phosphorescent light that keep the waters bright even during the night. Allowing the ships to always stay on the go.

Listria Market:
In essence, the city itself is one huge market place. But at the heart of the city is where the real action is. The largest buildings do not span upwards, but downwards here. This leaves the city flat, more or less on the surface, and its network of underground market places vast. Special holy runes have given the appearance to a sky, even when underground. This lets people shop comfortably as well as keep track of time while they shop in the seemingly endless underground market place. Some would think that the underground market would be tunnels and caverns. And in some places they would be right, tunnels connect the different market districts. But these tunnels are huge, allowing hundreds of people to come and go all at once as well as allowing the movement of many goods.

This enchanted sky underground has also allowed for trees, grass and other flora to flourish underground without having to rely on the phosphorescence that many underground species of plants do.

Yea Im a wild flower, running barefoot through a field of wildflowers, soaking up the way of life... I was raised in.

Vivian's soothing voice echoed out through the mild afternoon air as she rode on one of the hover transportation vehicles that her family had. The supplies that the transportation carried were meat and milk that the Ko'lorcks created. It was that time of the week again. She had to go into town, not something that she liked to do. Then again, she didnt like to do much of anything that she was told to do.

She lazily sung her little song that had been made up about her other title that she held. Wildflower. Not a name she liked others to know was hers. But, that didnt stop her little song that haunted her past. The hustle and bustle of one of the main streets, the crowds of people and races. What a sight to behold. But, to someone like Vivian who was used to the open plains of the Emerald Plains, it was just noisy. But it was expected of her to bring in the supplies that was needed from her families farm.

The crowds parted and moved out of the way as the guards who were hired to protect the caravan walked in front and behind the four transports. And finally, they came to a rest infront of a large gate. Hopping down from the six foot high transport, Vivian sighed as she walked towards the gate. A flash and the gates opened before her and a man walked out as the ten foot high doors slowly swung open.

"Ah! The Emerald Maiden, it is good to see you yet again my dear!" The man said as he held his arms wide. The man stood at about 6 foot one, and had a very scruffy appearance about him. Partially grown facial hair, scruffy hair and a few scars that crossed his right eye. Not to mention his clothing helped his appearance give him his scruffy looking. That aside, his smile made it clear he was a friend regardless if you knew him or were just meeting him.

"Ross, its good to see you again too. How have you been?" Vivian asked as she spread her arms and hugged the man, burying her face in the mans shirt and sighing. Ross stood with Vivian wrapped in his left arm and with his right he waved forward. Fi'Tsumos, Lili'pos and men began walking out from one of the main entrances to the underground market place. "And please, Ross you know I hate it when you call me that..." Vivian said as she looked up at him giving him a tired smile. She didnt care that people were staring at the Emerald Maiden embraced in Ross' arms. They were close friends, and Ross was one of the main buyers from her families farm. So Ross knew her father.

After a moment, Vivian and Ross let go of one another and began walking to the now open hover transport that was in the lead of the line of four. "So, hows the old man been? I havent heard from him in awhile. Probably means he is busy as always right?" Ross gave a chuckle as he pulled open the back hatch to the "Shimmy" as they were called. The door hissed and the hydrolics system caught the heavy plated door as it swung upwards. "Yea, you know daddy. Always working, sending me to do alot of the work he cant get to." Vivian looked into the Shimmy's compartment bay and inside were tens of litter bottles of Ko'lorcks milk.

"Thats quite alright though. As long as he keeps sending us good quality product like he always has, he could send a monkey for all I care." Ross nodded as he picked up a bottle and looked at the transparent liquid inside. "Best milk for hundreds of miles around." Ross exclaimed as he popped the bottles cork, pulled our a flask and poured a very small amount into the flask before recorking the cold bottle. "Oh! So I heard that your dad is trying to set up a route to the Crystal Capital. Sounds exciting Vivian. Does that mean I will loose the prettiest delivery woman in Tristia to them?" Ross said as he began walking back to the underground market place. Vivian followed with him, walking to his office to fill out some paper work before she had to head back home.

"God, please dont remind me Ross. I dont want to have to go there. Especially if Jessica is there. If she saw me delivering for my dad..." She shook her head at the thought of how Jessica, the Crystal Maiden would tell the others and she was sure she would get plenty of name calling at their next get together as the Maidens of Trsitia. Not something she looked forward to. "I can only hope that my father finds someone else that he trusts to take the milk and other goods there. Its not like I am needed over there anyway." Vivian huffed alittle as Ross pushed the door to his office open.

The two friends walked inside of Ross' office and Ross sat down behind his desk, pulling out a few papers and setting them on the table infront of Vivian. Vivian sat down and looked at the papers, giving a sigh before she rubbed the bridge of her nose. Paperwork. "Well Vivian my dear, you know the drill. I need you to sign these papers before we can officially take these goods." Ross said as he sat back down in his chair. Vivian looked the papers over, already knowing what was supposed to all be there. It thing every week.

"Ross, do I have to do this now? I have had a long trip." Vivian looked at Ross, trying to give him her puppy dog eyes. Ross only grinned and shook his head. "Sorry Vivian, you know it has to get done. Otherwise it would be my job." He said as he placed a pen down on the small stack of papers. Vivian sighed and started looking through the many paged document and began signing where necessary. Initial here, signature there, a quick signature here. Not how Vivian wanted to spend the sunny day that was passing her by. And as time passed, her signature began to get more and more messy and half-hearted. She wanted to be out, walking and relaxing do what she wanted. And she was growing antsy and restless.

Steel gray colored eyes squinted at the glare from the light, a pale hand slowly pushed back stray strands of black hair, as those around the young woman were bustling about. She was taking a small break from hauling things to and from the boat that her family worked on. True it was a nice day out, though that never really stopped her from working on those days. "Sera!" gray eyes blinked rather rapidly, as she turned and spotted her twin wave her down.

A small grin appeared upon her face, as she too, waved at him. It was deemed odd that the two were twins but completely different. Where he liked to spend his time within the house, Seraphina always wanted to be near the docks. "Sala," she could not help but to laugh as she watched the man hold up a bag. "Once again, you brought me lunch." She raised a brow as her twin laughed. Salathiel could not help but to grin, as he tossed the bag right at her.

"More or so," was his reply. Slowly the mirror image of Sera sat down on a crate, watching the ships rock back and forth in time with the small waves. Sera could not help but to grin, as she placed the bag down and stretched out her arms. Though it was true that she enjoyed her job here at the docks, Sera wanted more. Yes, she goes on fishing trips with her father, and fishing may be the only thing that she knows.

The young woman wanted to go out and travel the kingdom. Wanted to see what's out there, and then maybe find someone and settle down, as well as carrying out the name of Jin. Gray eyes lighten a little, as she tried her best to keep her eyes off her brother. One day, she thought with a small smile. One day, I will get to see the kingdom and not just this port.

Rin made her way through the many crowds of the underground, carrying many things for the traders she had worked for in the underground market. "Careful wi'dat!" her boss said as he came into view. "Sorry, it's a lot heavier than it looks," she replied, she apologized a few time before stopping.

Although there were many hard times carrying things to and fro the shop, she felt okay with it, she liked her job, she liked her boss, although he'd be a bit hard on her at times. I take out the little compass around my neck and sigh. "Yeh, whatever, here's your pay for the day," he said, handing her a little envelope. She thanked him a few times before finally leaving the underground.

Seeing the sky after finally leaving the underground, put a small smile on her face. "I wonder what it'd be like, all the way in the sky," she said, she turned her head to face her hidden wings. She soon shrugged it off and continued with her walk.

It was awhile before Vivian had been let out of Ross' office. He didnt let her go even to go to the bathroom. He knew what would happen if he let her go. The paperwork wouldnt get done, he would get introuble from the higher ups, and then he would have to have a fight with Vivian. None of which appealed to him. So he kept a watchful eye on his friend and made sure she finished everything.

But now Vivian sat, bored out of his skull as Ross looked over the paperwork that Vivian had finished about twenty minutes ago. Ross sat behind his desk, his head cupped in his hands as he looked over everything. A pained look on his face as he had to listen to Vivian's constant nagging and whining. "Ross... Do I HAVE! to stay here while you look over everything? Please cant I go outside?" She said again for about the thirtieth time. Ross sighed, raised a finger and was about to start an argument with her when one of his subordinates walked into the room.

The Fi'tsumo towered over Ross, standing about seven foot five. So He had to bend down alittle to whisper what he had to tell Ross. Thats when Ross' look of anger turned to pleasure and he gave Vivian a coy smile like he knew something she didnt. When the Fi'Tsumo stepped to Ross' right, Ross spoke as he sat back down into the seat. "Fine, you can go." He said as he started to put the paperwork away for the time being. Vivian, looked at the Fi'Tsumo then Ross, confused and curious as to what had changed Ross' mind. She stood, not one to look a gift horse in the mouth and started walking out of Ross' office and out towards the caravan that she had just come in on. "Wonder why he gave up so easily..." She got back into the cockpit of the hover transport and flicked on the map to enter in the co-ordinates to head home when she saw it. The flashing red zone over the Emerald Plains.

The next thing sound that cut through the air was Vivian's voice screaming at Ross as she ran back into his office. "Ross!! You unkempt, dirty, underhanded, no good excuse of a man!" She shouted at him as she slammed his door behind her. All the loading workers who were still working had turned to look at Vivian as she stormed Ross' office. Yelling was the only sound that came from Ross' office, all of it Vivian, and a minute later she came huffing out of Ross' office heading to the transports to tell them the news.

Vivian climbed up into the hover transport and slung open the door. Turning and sitting, she grabbed the radio walkie and depressed the button as she began to relay the message to the people who had come with her. Alot of the people gave a small sigh of pleasure. The Shards of Glass meant that they couldnt go back for a few days. It also meant one other thing...

A small vacation.

Some pleasant chatter began over the private radio line as the men and women in Vivian's convoy started to plan out what they were going to do. Vivian however, only put her radio walkie back into its holster by the holo-vid screen and leaned her head back. Why? Why here?! Why not when they got back home, couldnt the Shards have started then? It wasnt that Vivian didint like Listria, she just didnt want to be away from home where any of the other maidens could find her. She disliked having to deal with them, being the few who inherited her title by birth and the only one that ACTUALLY worked for a living, made it hard for her to fit in with the rest, try as she might.

Now, she was stuck in one of the busiest places, where news tended to travel quickly, and sooner or later the Sapphire Maiden would find her and try to get Vivian to join her at a party or some charity or something to show just how much of a bumpkin Vivian was compared to a genuine princess.

Vivian sighed and shook her head before pounding her fist once on the dash of the hover transport and swearing under her breath. Time to disappear. But, first she had to give her people orders on where to park the transports... Or... That could be done without her. So she slipped away, into the crowds of people and tried to find someplace to go and stay where she could stay hidden until the Shards of Glass stopped falling.
