So my friends, what kind of music do you listen to? What gets your foot tapping, your head bobbing, and your hips shaking? What does music do for your mood? What do you listen to when you want to calm down? How about when you want to get pumped up? I know we have a few musicians among us, what do you play? What inspires you to make music? What are a few of your favorite bands?
Anything else music related is welcome here too!
I personally enjoy a pretty wide variety of music. Hard, Punk, Classic, and Alternative rock, Classical, some Metal, Chicago and Delta style blues, Techno, and Jazz. I'm not a very big fan of rap or pop music.
I like the bands Cake, Audioslave, Tool, AC/DC, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Red Hot Chili Pepers, and Apocalyptica just to name a few.

I listen to almost anything, really. Not a big fan of rap or metal, but I'll admit to having enjoyed a few songs from both genres. I grew up listening to country though, so that's what I'm usually found listening to.
I'm also a fan of Cake (I have a joke with some friends -- my convertible is a white Chrysler LeBaron, nicknamed 'Cake', due to the lyics "She's trading her MG for a white Chrysler LeBaron" in the song Short Skirt/Long Jacket.). It seems so rare to find fellow fans of that group. xP I also listen to Toby Keith, Faith Hill, AC/DC, Creature Feature, Anberlin, the Pogues, Queen, La Roux, Temposhark.... there's a pretty long list, actually.

I can't say that I use music to change my mood, but I do listen to various things based on my mood.
I mostly listen to Trance music, or anything with a nice melodic beat to it. I enjoy a lot of music on the Pop charts as well, but it isn't my go-to genre. I find that the music can really get me going at times, especially when I find a really high energy song like "Find Yourself" by John O'Callaghan, or "Perfect Blue" by Akesson. I also love the band Infected Mushroom.

I listen to everything other than country. I play the Piano, Violin, and Guitar. I usually play like Hard rock and Metal. I enjoy music a lot and I think of it as a love and hobby. I listen to music everyday (Probably going def.) and I think I will always love music. I have a band, we are a Metal band (although we aren't all screaming and whining, we sing for real). c:

It seems we're pulling together a rather talented group of people in here. Maybe in 10 years we'll be well organized and put on a GIA concert somewhere. How cool would that be?

That'd be rather bitchin'. I used to be the vocalist for a local band. Mostly country, but we did some rock and pop as well. I left because the drummer couldn't get it through his head that I was not his girlfriend, nor would I ever be. rolleyes

queen of arcadia britney spears is my gurl i like pretty well every type of music except for heavy metal and emo frickin annoyingggg my family went to an acdc concert and i was gonna go but @ last minute decided not to i really should have gone AC/DC isn't as good in concert as they one were. They're a bit too old to be doing it anymore, and so are most of their fans. After seeing the band struggle to walk to the other side of the stage without being out of breath, and seeing a 60 something lady flash the crowd and throw her underwear/depends on stage I was done with the idea of seeing a classic rock group live. On a side note, seeing the elderly in a mosh pit is hilarious.

I like to consider myself a pretty open-minded person when it comes to music, but in reality I don't like country, emo/screamo music. I also cannot listen to music that is consistently depressing. I need happy, and optimistic music mostly. Hence my serious love for Bon Jovi.
but with that being said I like older music mostly like Scorpions, Joan Jett, Pat Benetar, Def Leppard, Burton Cummings, The Guess Who, Eric Clapton, etc. But I also really like Beyonce, Drake and Lady Gaga sweatdrop
