A dark and scary fortress located out in the middle of the Desert of Destruction that was once full of blood and corpses. Now, with carnage free halls and standing walls, it's the temporary residence of Lazuli and Phibrizzo. I don't feel like describing too much right now, so if you have something better, go ahead and edit it.

And now is the time To follow the wind To walk alone And a star Will show the way Above the clouds Beyond the sea And now is the time And now and farewell And as we part You taught me well You gave me strength You showed the way I'll not forget you Like an eagle I will soar above the clouds I will spread my wings and fly into the sun Like an eagle I will race above the stars I will fly to places yet unseen Go beyond my wildest dreams Knowing you are watching over me And all alone I follow the stars above As my guide And as my guide I trust in you To show the way to me Beyond the sea And now is the time And now and farewell And as we part You taught me well You gave me strength I'll not forget you LIke an eagle I will soar about the clouds I will spread my wings and fly into sun Like an eagle I will race above the stars Knowing you are watching over me Alone, I can fly with the eagle to the mountain high Race with the eagle to the rising sun And soar with the eagle so far beyond my dreams Like an eagle I will fly Like an eagle I will soar above the clouds I will spread my wings and fly into the sun Like an eagle I will soar above the stars I will fly to places yet unseen Go beyond my wildest dreams Knowing you are watching over me. LAZULIA SAYA --The Monster Race's Angel--Amazed--Exploring the Fortress-- Wow...! Lazuli barely restrained to urge to spin around and take in the full view of her surroundings. This place looks nothing like I remember it...!! It wasn't beautiful; not in the least. But it was so...different. It actually had walls now. Full ones, that weren't covered in stains or holes. And there was a roof even! But best of all, there were no corpses in sight. The whole fortress had been completely restored, and even though it didn't feel the same as the mansion, Lazuli felt right at home here. Probably because there was nothing there to frighten her.
The blond smiled as she lightly swung her bag to the side of her, watching the Hellmaster curiously; wondering what was to happen first. She didn't know where anything was here, so she wasn't going to wander about quite yet. Not when she had nothing to help her get back. "Um...so, where are we going first, Hellmaster?" she asked curiously, no longer able to take the silence that was forming between them. They hadn't really talked in the kitchen while she said good bye to everyone else. And now they still weren't talking. Lazuli couldn't stand being silent for that long.

Phibrizzo led the way as Lazuli gawked at the fortress in amazement. Was it really that amazing? He didn't think so himself. "Well ... " He thought to himself, his arms crossed in frustration. He wasn't used to having a mazoku. Even when Cerras was around, she left him alone, so he didn't have to think so much about it. "You can do... whatever. Have you found any more abilities yet? He questioned curiously, turning to her.

LAZULIA SAYA --The Monster Race's Angel--Worried--They aren't coming back....are they?-- Lazuli fell silent for a moment after his question, and then shook her head. "No, I haven't. And none of my other powers have come back either...." she admitted quietly. She'd been hoping that they'd find Valora and kill her to break whatever curse was on her, or that it would just wear off. But neither seemed to be happening any time soon. Maybe they weren't really even an option. Maybe she would just never be able to use magic ever again.
"Hellmaster...? Getting rid of Valora....really won't get my powers back...will it...?" Even now, she had no idea that had Valora had died the same day she had nearly thirteen years ago. But..if she was responsible, then wouldn't the others have gone after her by now? Or she'd come to them? The fact that they had gone this long without doing anything, really concerned her. How was she supposed to do anything like this? She was even more vulnerable than a human right now...

Phibrizzo stared blankly at the small blond for a moment, thinking thoroughly about what to say to her. If he spoke too soon, he may say something he regretted. He didn't want to do so, since, after all, this was Lazuli they were talking about. She was real important to him. If she had no power, another monster could just consume her when he was away. He couldn’t really protect her by much, since Dynast had made her half his mazoku before he had died. "Yeah, we will get rid of her, Lazuli."
They had already done so, but he did not say this, as it would worry Lazuli. If he just hid it until they could get her powers back, then she would never know what it really was. He didn’t like lying to her, but it was needed, it was necessary to keep her hopes up. If she knew that Valora casted the spell, and that Valora was dead, she’d think she’d be powerless forever; which was not necessarily the case. Maybe he could even snatch her sapphire necklace; his present to her years ago, away from her room when she was sleeping, and make it have more of an boost for magic, like a tailsman. It would help her with her problem, definitely. Then he would simply need to return it before she woke up in the morning. But then, there was more to it. He had to break the seal somehow. It was another one of those demon spells, so they he would have to sneak into the demon base to gather the information for it. He knew that Cerras and Xellos stole one of the books once, but the spell was not in it. If it was, he’d know it. He’d searched through it; and anything that was in a strange language was translated by Cerras before as well, all of it was there. And yet, the book that was so long did not have the simple spell.
He scowled, and leaned back against the wall. They were now inside the fortress, so now he had time that he could just space out and think. But he needed Lazuli to think that he was pondering about how to get to Valora and kill her. “Because demons didn’t have souls”, just like monsters, he would have to have tracked her down. ”I’ll find her on my own… ok?” He glanced off to the side.
”And… you can contact me through that necklace if you need me.” He didn’t believe he ever told her, but the necklace could do that. He’d made sure to keep a bit of his Astral body formed there, so that he’d be able to protect Lazuli, and give her power. But in this case, that Valora had sealed her powers years ago. So now all that the necklace could really do was let them communicate. He had one that was similar; but he never mentioned anything about it. Phibrizzo was annoyed, he was the freaking Hellmaster, how could he not do anything? Usually he had some idea of what to do, but now he was just stumped, with no clue of what to do. It made him feel like he was no help at all. What kind of monster was he? He needed that book, and he needed to get it on his own. Lazuli going with him would just mess with his pride. But then, really, did it matter? She had more of a chance getting hurt here. He stared at her silently, expecting for any moment for her to speak up, saying that she wanted to come with him. She was a lot like Cerras that way, she really had learned a lot from her; maybe the girl wasn’t so useless after all. After all these years, she finally proved herself to him. She’d become stronger too, with the power of the Lord of nightmares. Thinking of this, Phibrizzo suddenly got the chills.

LAZULIA SAYA --The Monster Race's Angel--Worried--They aren't coming back....are they?-- "Yeah. We'll get rid of her, Lazuli."
Was it really going to be that simple? Would it really be that easy to fix whatever Valora did to her? Lazuli bit down lightly on her lower lip, thinking it all over in silence. She wanted to believe what her Lord was telling her; more than anything. If she couldn't trust in his word, then what could she trust? Though she depended on the others as well, he seemed to matter more. And it had nothing to do with her feelings towards him. He was the one who'd made her a monster. Even if she was only half, she depended on him for protection. Without him, she would have been killed off years ago. Not just by other monsters seeking to devour her. She was finally old enough to appreciate what he had done for her when he allowed her to continue living after her mother and brother were gone. That pain wasn't as strong as it had been. Maybe because the monster side was starting to wipe out the human? Maybe. If it was then she was completely unaware of the change.
She fell into step beside Phibrizzo, keeping her gaze low as she waited for him to continue speaking. She knew that he had more to say. Just saying that they would get rid of Valora wasn't going to cut it. He had to have a plan in mind. Something to show her that it would be alright. As she waited for her answer, they came into the fortress and Hellmaster leaned against one of the walls, turning his gaze away from her. There was an obvious frown on his face, and he seemed to be thinking hard about something. So he doesn't have a plan yet... she thought, a little disappointed. It wasn't really what she had been expecting. Hellmaster always had a plan. He was never one to just rush in blindly. That was how you got yourself killed. But the fact that he didn't know what to do, and the Hellmaster was one of the most intelligent people she knew, was a little worrisome. She absently rubbed her forearm, the waiting was starting to get to her. Even though she knew what he was going to say. It wasn't that hard to figure out that he was going to tell her that he wanted to her to wait for him here while he left to find Valora. That was the logical thing to say.
”I’ll find her on my own… ok?”
The words came exactly as she had expected. Her gaze fell, and she found herself debating over what to say back to him. She knew she would be of no use to him in this state. But even so, she didn't want to be left here alone. Even though the fortress was a lot nicer than the first time she had been here, it still freaked her out a little. Because she could still remember how it had looked. And she wouldn't know where to go. It was a guarrentee that she would get lost and end up somewhere she shouldn't be within an hour. The comment about being able to contact him through the necklace barely registered in her mind, and she finally looked up at him, but not directly in the eye. "I wanna come too, Hellmaster..." she said quietly. "I know I won't be of any real use, but....I don't want to stay here by myself..."

Confusion crossed the Hellmaster's face, showing he was indeed unsure what to say. Part of him told him one series of thoughts, while the other told him different. She will be in danger either way. So its no pain to bring her with you. Was one thought. But then, the other came along. But if you try to protect her, then you might go killing yourself again. He remembered full well what happened with the Lord of Nightmares. He did not want to return to a pain like that. "Fine. You can come. But you need to bring a weapon along, just in case. " Phibrizzo said, teleporting her along with him to a section of the fortress. It had the cells, as well as an area with weapons lined along the walls.

LAZULIA SAYA --The Monster Race's Angel--Worried--They aren't coming back....are they?-- The blond braced herself for him to refuse, and tell her that he was going alone and that was that. But instead, he agreed, and she glanced up at him, finally looking him in the eyes, a look of surprise on her features. She hadn't expected it to be that easy to get him to let her tag along. Not that she was going to complain. The surprise and worry faded away and she smiled slightly. But before she could say anything, he then teleported them to where the weapons were stored, and told her to take one as a precaution.
She walked along slowly, looking over each of the weapons. She had very little experience with anything, so many of them were beyond her knowledge of using. And some were just too big. There was one axe in particular who's blade was almost as big as she was. There was only weapon she could really use, and she finally found it among a few spears. A simple bow and arrow. It was vital that the Healers learn at a young age to use one; as it was the most basic of weapons. Once she had the quiver slung over a shoulder, she then grabbed a hand dagger as a back up in case for some reason she ran out of arrows. Satisfied with her choices, she then went over to stand next to Hellmaster. "Alright, I'm ready." she told him.

LAZULIA SAYA --The Monster Race's Angel--Slightly Annoyed--Figures...-- She'd forgotten how much fun this could be. There was a large grin on Lazuli's face as she fazed back, appearing from a pale blue blur in her bedroom. Ever since she and Hellmaster had returned from Alvarna, she'd been constantly using her powers. Right now her activity of choice was to teleport to all the rooms in the fortress. Or at least the ones she was allowed to go to, anyway. It was a silly way to occupy her time, as well as a waste of her energy, but she couldn't help herself. It had been nearly 13 years since she had been able to do anything like this.
Lazuli sat on her bed briefly, and tried to think of what to do next. She'd gone to the rooms she'd been shown before. And she wasn't allowed to go outside, even with her powers back. The Desert of Destruction wasn't exactly the safest place in the world, as shown in the name. An idea then struck her: the library. She hadn't gone there yet. There had to be one. She'd seen him with Zelas many times in her library. So he had to have some sort of liking for books. Either that, or he really liked being around Beastmaster. Her grin returned and she willed herself to the library.
To her slight surprise, the library wasn't all that big. At least compared to the one at the mansion. It was average size, with shelves full of leather bound books and scrolls lining the sides and a table taking up the floor in the center of the room. Based on the layers of dust on some of the shelves, some parts of the collection hadn't been used for years. She wandered along the rows, looking at the funny looking symbols on the spines. She didn't know what any of these were about; they appeared to be in some ancient language. Maybe she would ask Hellmaster to teach her sometime. It wasn't like they didn't have the time to.
When she'd finished the first wall and gone on to the second, she finally found one book on a top shelf that she could actually read. She lightly pushed off the ground and hovered in front of the shelf. She tugged on the book, but it wouldn't budge. The shelf was too tightly packed. Frowning slightly she tugged harder, trying to get it free. It came free with a sudden jerk, along with all the other books. A small gasp escaped as one struck her in the forehead and she tumbled to the ground, the books falling on and around her.
Lazuli let out a small moan of discontent as she brought a hand to her aching head. The bookshelf was still standing, thankfully, but now a good of its content was now scattered on the ground. Of course she had to choose now to be a klutz. At least she was alone; Hellmaster probably would have sighed and called her an idiot. Keeping the hand on her head, she tried to push herself up on her free hand, only to wince slightly from a burning sensation. She brought it to up to see blood smeared on her finger. Paper-cut; of course. At least I got the book... she thought dryly, looking at the book sitting in her lap. Now all she needed was for the book to turn out to be about something boring she wouldn't care to read about. That would really make this all worth it. Not.
