Normally I would just put this in a suggestion topic or in one of the Crew forums, but I feel it urgent enough to receive its own and I desire the input of all. I will delete this topic as soon as a consensus is reached, for better or worse.
I hereby raise a motion to state, near or at the top of our Guild Homepage, a set of two or three questions, which potential joinees (outside of invited individuals) must answer in order to be accepted into the Guild. If a recruit was invited, then they merely tell us "I was invited by [insert username here]." in response to the form.
I raise this motion because, as Crew, I'm tired of looking at these people's reasons to join, or lack thereof, and not seeing anything that makes me want them to be a part of our Guild. Also, some of them have no post history, which I personally do use to help gauge what kind of person they are and whether or not they should be admitted. How are we supposed to let them in if we don't know what they're like?
I rejected one kid last night, and several others before him, because they didn't say anything as to why they wanted to be part of the Guild and had no post history to clue me in. Or what they said gave me little indication as to what they could actually add other than a +1 Pop. Count because they kept talking in circles. x_x
Hating Twilight is not enough to gain membership and never should be. We are not a purely Anti-Twilight Guild. True interest in vampire lore or interest in RP, is. Our common thread is our love for vampire culture.
Also, if our goal is to be more active, then should we not receive some sort of acknowledgement from these new recruits that they will be active in the Guild?

I support this petition, but I must ask; have you brought this up with Val yet? I'm sure he'd agree to it, especially considering that it's coming from you, a long-time friend.

Not yet. I can never seem to be on at the same time that he is, unfortunately. But! My hope is that everyone on Crew will see this and read my reasoning for wanting to do it. ^^;
I'm passive like that, I reckon. ._.; But I shall bring it up with him sometime soon. I was extremely tired last night and hadn't thought of it. xD

I understand. He's got his profile set so that he's hidden when online; but I know he stops in daily because he and I chat via PM on occasion. Apparently he's had a series of unfortunate events befall him in recent months and hasn't been very social as a result. Honestly, I think we need to remind him that we all love him and would like to see more of him. smile

He has because I've been in communication with him. He's just been having a rough spell in his personal life and hasn't really felt like reaching out to anyone. That's why I was saying, we need to reach out to him.
