Hello. How are you?
Yes. Introduce yourself here. You can say as much as you want. Although too much personal information would not be wise, as you wouldn't want some weird freak on your doorstep wanting to know if they can be your 'special friend'. rolleyes
All kidding aside, this is where you can say your user name. Name if you really want. Country you reside in. Occupation. General background, training, hobbies, etc.
Remember, this is not mandatory. It just gives people some idea of where you're coming from when you speak. I usually only say hello in these things, but I'm going to have to do a better job of it this time.
And please be sure to read Guild Rules, as well. There's also the Birthday thread if that interests you.
Actually, there shouldn't have to be too many, save for what God has given us. But we're all still learning, and there is the fact that to have a guild on this site at all, they have to be stated somewhere. So, this is as good of a place as any. Keep in mind that none of us are perfect, save for Christ our Saviour. We can do our best. The rest is between ourselves and God only.
Let's take the default, shall we? XD
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Exodus 20 is a good one, especially those last two since there seems to be a lot of drama these days. Let's just... not do the drama. lol But, really, God has made it pretty cut and dry for us. Yes?
Not meant to be preaching, because that's not what this guild is for. It's just to have a place to learn and share God's word together. After all, we're still on the milk, and not the meat of the word. Yes? But there just seem to be some things that we can help remind each other of.
Please add to this, or edit. If we're to learn together, then your input is greatly appreciated.
Otherwise, mind the ToS. Or we'll ALL be thrown out! rofl
[EDIT]
I think I'll put Romans 12 in here. It just sounds good. smile (08/12/2011)

I didn't realize that I hadn't written this in, and for that I do apologize.
We'd like to ask that the main forum be left to the guild crew to post in. This is mostly due to the nature of some of our threads (if they're going to be controversial, they must be well-thought and scripturally backed or cited. PM us for details!), and helps to keep repeated topics down. We'd like your help with this, since we do have occasion to miss threads that should be seen.
But please browse the rest of the sub forums. We'd like high traffic in all of the subforums (not just the main), so that your topics will be seen. Our members have posted so many interesting things. Must see. smile
If you have a topic that you'd like to see on the main floor, do contact us. This will help keep things current, and less repetitive. Also, we can work together on making it something for thought, and not a free-for-all (lets... not... do that anymore. Please). lol Otherwise, when doing sporadic house cleaning, your post may be inadvertently swept to another sub forum, or under review. Nothing personal, just cleaning and haven't found a standard on where these things should be.
Thank you,
~MW

And if there is anything that you don't understand, or are not comfortable with, PLEASE TELL US! We don't want to 'regulate' or otherwise hamper that great Fire of the Holy Spirit that some of you have going on. lol We just want to keep things a little more organized so that we can give better ministry, and keep things on even ground for those things that must be spoken, but tend to hurt, annoy, and confuse.
The Truth must get out. And sometimes it will hurt. But this is for fellowship, and we can lessen the pain of a fellow Christian (or anyone that wants to hear God's Word). lol
So, let us hear from you! The more, the merrier!
God bless each and every one of you. smile

Hello everyone,
We here in the office love a good joke as much as anyone – and sometimes even more. And we pride ourselves on providing an open environment where you guys and gals can talk about almost anything. But lately we’ve seen a few too many Gaians posting comments or "jokes" which cross the line from humorous into subjects that pose safety issues for the Gaia community. When this line is crossed, you need to know that we are legally obligated to consider the joke as a serious statement of fact, and usually have to ban the account that made the joke. In fact, in certain cases, we have to forward the content to the authorities.
To be perfectly honest, I have to tell you that when this happens, it’s a really frustrating situation for us. We HATE having to ban accounts for making these jokes or comments, especially since we are almost certain that most of these statements are not meant seriously. We're also sure this is aggravating for the account owners as well - nobody wants to be banned! It's just a lose-lose situation all around.
So, to help you all steer clear of possibly losing your account (or even having to be sent to the authorities) for making an inappropriate comment, here are some of the subjects you should avoid joking about on Gaia:
a) Anything that indicates you have killed, maimed or raped another person, or plan to do so.
b) Saying you are under 13 years old.
c) Soliciting or offering sexually explicit content.
d) Anything that indicates you own, make or distribute child pornography or that you’re a ***** and/or child molester.
e) Making threats against government officials.
Everyone of course is expected to comply with the Terms of Service and our Rules & Guidelines, but these topics above are particularly sensitive. It’s not an exhaustive list, but are amongst the most common topics that result in an immediate ban and the inevitable “But I was joking!” email afterwards. Remember that we (and your fellow users) have no real idea whether you’re serious when you post about these, so we’re forced to assume you are.
Thanks for listening - it is my sincere hope that this PSA will help some of you identify topics to avoid joking about so you don't have to have your account banned for safety reasons.

(*ALSO* NO ROUGE POSTS BY NON - MEMBERS WILL BE TOLERATED
No drive - By Posts, or JUST POSTING IN THIS GUILD TO BE POSTING SOMETHING IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF THIS GUILD - THE INCIDENT WILL BE REPORTED TO ADMIN AS TROLLING OR SPAMMING THE GUILD AND ITS MEMBERS.)
