One Year Auction is an experimental website where artist Rasa Levinskaite is attempting to sell her Lady Gaga painting.
The goal is to sell "Elephant Lady Gaga" painting for $1 million in one year. There is a heated discussion going on Digital Point Forum about this experiment. Based on the fact that artist of this painting is relatively unknown, $1 million might seem like a tall order. But take a look at the list of The Most Expensive Paintings Ever Sold where an average sales price is $100 million and $1 million for "Elephant Lady Gaga" might look like a great deal.
"Elephant Lady Gaga" is the first painting from Elephant paintings series. This painting was created by artist Rasa Levinskaite at the end of 2009. Inspiration came from Rasa’a passion for elephants and Lady Gaga’s song “Bad Romance”. In song’s video there is a moment where Lady Gaga’s eyes are round and very big. If you look at the painting you will see the same big, round, crazy eyes.
Earlier in 2010 the idea was born to auction "Elephant Lady Gaga" painting. None of the existing auctions were suitable for what Rasa was trying to accomplish. One Year Auction website was created to list and auction only one painting at a time.
One Year Auction can be described by its mission statement – “One Year, One Auction, One Elephant”. Right now there is only one painting “Elephant Lady Gaga” being auctioned for a period of one year. At the end of the auction new painting will be listed for another year. At all times there will be only one of Elephant paintings listed on One Year Auction website.

Asides from the eyes, I see no Gaga in this. The presence of Lady Gaga, whether it be on screen or a song or even in an interview is captivating yet enthralling at the same time. This not only doesn't share her essence, but it has very little to no resemblance. While the quality and marksmanship (the skill of the painting, if you will) is undoubtedly professional and of a good caliber, it does not share the same feel that Gaga provokes in me or perhaps any other fan of hers.

That painting has nothing to do with Gaga! I would pay merely a dollar since it's called "Elephant - Lady Gaga" and doesn't resemble her at all.
I might pay more if it were just called "Elephant" since the art work was done well =p

Miss Fiendette Asides from the eyes, I see no Gaga in this. The presence of Lady Gaga, whether it be on screen or a song or even in an interview is captivating yet enthralling at the same time. EXACTLY! as w/ the toddler/ tiaras, just b/c is has GAGA on the title doesnt make it gaga related AT ALL. and yes, the painting is actually well done yet doesnt touch my heart the way gaga's music/art does

The brushstrokes in this painting are wonderful. The artist is obviously very talented. Unfortunately I do not get a Gaga sense to it. I almost feel like its a marketing ploy. "Smack the name Lady Gaga in the title and its sure to sell!"
Kind've a sad way to make a buck
