I think I'd have to say Pokémon too, but that was back before I knew what anime really was. I think the first anime I watched knowing what anime was was probably the dubbed version of Card Captor Sakura.
The first anime I watched in Japanese was Shaman King. Although that was after seeing the dub on TV and getting really into it.

I think it was either sailor moon or pokemon but the first anime I watched when I knew what is was, was Naruto
