I like to cosplay, and I could use a place to bounce ideas off of other people and receive feedback on my costumes. Feel free to look around and post any thoughts or questions that may occur to you. Yes I am. I commissioned someone else to do them for me because I really don't feel confident that I could make them as awesome as I want them to be, but she's been having life troubles lately. I don't know when I'll receive them, unfortunately.

Ahh that's a shame. I have a friend who cosplays as an awesome Medic.. I'm hoping to get her help on making a medipack/medigun someday when I start my own costume. Until then, continuing work on gunslinger Engineer.
Are you planning on doing any other TF2 related cosplays?

Yeah, I might end up attempting my own backpack, but I doubt I'd try to make a medi-gun on my own. I'd love to see photos of your costume(s) and/or your friend's medic gear. As for other TF2 costumes, I dressed up as a Blu Spy disguised as Stephen Colbert for Halloween, but it's not something I'd wear to a convention unless I got a better suit and tie. I'm also planning on making a Blu Soldier. I'm intimidated by the rocket launcher, but I'll probably end up making it myself. I'm also planning on doing a joke costume using stuff from my eventual Blu solider costume. I'd wear a coon skin hat (like the one Davy Crockett is famous for wearing), a custom-made kitchen apron that says "Kiss the Crock" on the front, and carry a box of Betty Crocker cake mix with the logo altered to say "Betty Crocket". If I can make a light-weight frying pan that's con-safe, I'd carry that around, too. I got the idea from a friend of mine who dresses up as a Fem!Heavy, and then I found this art on deviantart that just sealed the deal: Cookies!

Here's my Medic buddy. I met her when I was cosplaying as a BLU Spy.. Confusing everyone because I was carrying BLU intel on my back. http://fav.me/d1unc0mI've had some good fun cosplaying as BLU Spy... It's not a great costume itself, but the props were fun to make, and I got to do a lot of crazy stuff. Met Steven Blum (voice actor for a bunch of stuff..), he too was cosplaying a BLU Spy, so we had a lot of fun together. We got an army of Spies to crab walk through the con, Spy-crabbing to music.. until staff finally got pissed off and had us disbanded. My costume has Spy's standard revolver, a plastic butterfly knife that I made, and the BLU intel that straps to my back. (And also kills my back, because I was lazy with the straps.) And I can't find the one funny picture of my costume.. Basically, I had left the TF2 photoshoot to go find more cosplayers to bring to it.. When I got back, they had already started with some BLU vs RED pictures. So I came in behind RED team and started backstabbing their Engineers. Someone actually caught the picture where I'm just hovering behind them, knife raised in backstab pose right before RED noticed me. xD And yes.. Yes. You have to do that. I've seen that drawing before.. That'd definitely be a fun take on Soldier. It'd be funny if you had fake burnt cookies or something as a prop.. I can't imagine him being able to cook.

I saw your friend's costume on cosplay.com. She's a fabulous medic. I wish I knew what wig she used, 'cause I've head a heck of a time trying to find a good wig for the medic. Maybe you can ask her for me?

Lately I've been focusing on getting my Riza Hawkeye costume ready for my next convention in February. I made a holster for her gun last week, and this weekend I'll cut out and start sewing the jacket.
I also have a line on a medi-gun and back-pack set for my medic costume. Another cosplayer is selling her stuff, and I'm going to to go ahead and buy it off of her. It's not as nice as the set I commissioned would be, but it would get the job done.

I've got most of the outer part of the jacket sewn. I'll have to start sewing on silver trim before I can finish sewing all the parts to each other. That silver trim scares me.

Riza's jacket came together much nicer than Ah could have hoped for. Ah still need ta sew tha sleeve lining ta tha sleeves, but after that I put on a few snaps ta close the thing and it's all done. Ah still have some work ta do on tha pants (zipper and waistband), but it's pretty clear Ah'll finish with time ta spare before the convention. Ah'll be sure ta upload photos when I got 'em.

I updated my first post with photos of my completed Medic and Riza Hawkeye costumes. I still need a picture of me with my medi-gun, but I'm hoping to get some shots with that at an upcoming TF2 picnic I'm putting together.
