Personality: Samantha has a good heart...protected by a wall of snarky sarcasm and a wary sense of trust. It will take some time to earn her trust, but once you have, you'll be included behind that wall and she'll do anything in her power to protect you, should the situation arise. At the same time, this trust can be a bit brittle. All it takes is one incident, one moment of betrayal, and that trust is shattered forever, never to be repaired. This does not mean she won't forgive, at least not in the case of an honest mistake...but she will never be able to trust that person, not completely, ever again. A willful betrayal, however...? Well, let's just say that what they say about Ninetales is true. They can hold a heck of a grudge...and they live a long, long time...
In general, Samantha lives her life by the Golden Rule: Treat others in the manner that you wish to be treated. If she's treated nicely, she'll respond in kind; harshly, well....she'll not hesitate to respond with a little ammo of her own. She has a soft spot for the young and those who seem weaker and less able to defend themselves. In this situation, it would not be unusual for her to step in on someone's behalf that she doesn't know. She has a quick laugh, and an even quicker temper. Like the fires she once controlled, she's quick to flare...but equally quick to cool, as long as you can keep her from reacting with violence in the meantime.
About: Samantha has her reasons for her seeming trust issues. Just like she has her reasons for being so fiercely protective over that pendant she never takes off, or why she harbors a secret fear of not being able to protect those she holds dear. If only she could remember them herself.
These memories may or may not return with time. Maybe they'll remain a mystery, but as a silent force, guiding her development and her choices in life. Maybe...it's all a part of the magic of Hiun...
