Background:
When he was younger his parents put him under the tutelage of one of their friends who was a master in the arts of Jiu-Jitsu and Muay-Thai. During one of the training sessions a strange woman came to him during a rest period asking if he was the one training with his master. When he said yes she cursed him with The Flames of the Salamander.
He at once burst into flame, with the lady standing so close to him she was wreathed in the inferno as well. Laughing as she burned she saw the master come into the room. She screamed to him, "Teach him now!" Then promptly died.
The master calmed Elik's flames helping him to subside. Then continued [against Elik's judgement] to teach him.
During one of the training sessions of Jiu-Jitsu Elik lost control of his flames and killed his master. That fire burned into his skin on his back the insignia of the Salamander. Marking him as the Demon he now viewed himself as.
He took to the road then; wandering, destroying monsters and people alike if they came to close to him. He eventually took a sword to be his weapon and fought with it, preferring it to the painful memories his masters art brought.
Finally after 12 long years of wandering, rejection, and persecution. Elik sat next to a lake and prepared to end his existence. It was then that he saw a vision of the Goddess Artemis in his vision he was prompted to seek her out that she would have a way to let him join humanity once again.
Overcome with the thought of belonging someplace he pledged himself to the Goddess Artemis without knowing where or who she was. It was then that he found a medallion with the shape of a crescent moon in the lake. As he put it on he felt the heat of his flames dim and found he could control them at will.
He then set out to find and follow the Goddess who had saved him... To Hell if need be.

*Smiles* Hunter Victoria my flames is called a curse for a reason. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't try to help with it. I would like to talk to you about this afterward, maybe you could shed more light on my current situation.
