 The Middle Ring of Ba Sing Se contains the city's middle-class populace. Inside this ring are a vast assortment of shops and restaurants as well as the financial district and Town Hall (one of the oldest buildings in the Middle Ring). Ba Sing Se University, a massive warehouse of knowledge and a key landmark of the city, is also located in this area. The buildings of this Ring are much larger than those of the Lower Ring and the roofs are tiled green, but they are smaller than those located in the Upper Ring and are also more spaced out then the houses in the lower ring. It has a generally richer and more peaceful atmosphere than the Lower Ring, as there are lots of flowers and trees.

The sound of the harp...  Kotone walked down the street deep in thought. She had just recieved orders to robbed a rich merchant. She had already planned the heist for tonight, but during daylight hours it would be best to scope out the surrounding area.{Exit to Upper Ring.} A ballad for a thief...

(Because of the new topic, rp has skipped past a year or so... )
Morning came like any other day, its rays shining through the windows and into the room. A bundle laid under the covers, groaning loudly as suddenly figures began to jump on the bed. "Alright, alright...I'm up.." A lazy voice replies, the bundle soon reveling itself to be a young woman. The figures were actually animals, bidding their farewells to her as one by one left out the door or window. The woman was none other than Vera, a guide to lost young spirits which was who those animals were. Yet, also the same woman who was...very late for work. "Ekkkk!" She cries, suddenly jumping out of bed and into the bathroom. Knowing for a fact that if she was late once more, a far worse fate awaited her. Vera changed her clothing, twisted her hair into a ponytail, and was soon out the door. She jumps down the stairs, shifting the earth around her feet as she suddenly sprinted past the busy streets. Then eventually there was a building coming into view,"Almost....almost.." She whispers, nearing closer and closer then finally leaps into the open door. Just at that moment the manager glares at her hard, "Costumers." He states, pointing behind him to revel the impatient bunch. "Of course, sir." Vera mutters politely, fetching her apron and went to the kitchen to prepare some tea. The manager sighs, "If only she was just a minute short..." He growls, disappointed he couldn't punish her like the day before then returns to welcoming more people into his small tea shop.

Yue Yao'an sat on the front steps of a Middle Ring apartment, a dango stick sticking out from his mouth. Dressed in a dirty cloak that camouflaged his entire body and his Yu Yan Archer marks, he chewed on some dango. He sighed, then spit out the empty toothpick.
He dared not look up, in case someone recognized him. He hadn't changed a bit in appearance since he was here about a year ago, but he knew he had changed on the inside after meeting Vera and Hikaru. He was no longer a professional bounty hunter nor assassin, but was a wanderer, beggar, and a jack-of-all-trades that did almost anything for money. Since when did he fall so low in life, he did not know.
His pet hawk, Fufu, flew meters above, scouting the area. He needed to be cautious. After conjuring the rage of several wealthy Earth Kingdom clans in his travels previously, there were always assassins after him. "Screw this..."

Vera stirred the small pot, serving a few cups and giving them out to those who ordered them. Her mind drifted to the old times where it was just her and the other two. I wonder what became of them? She thought, glancing at a nearby reflection. Her hair had gotten longer, and she had taken up more jobs in order to save up for an item she found the other day and for the small home she had. Her original plan was to repay them, more Yue though since he had aided her in her affair with fortune telling. Though, the item she had in mind might not fascinate him as much as she thought. She sighs, taking a random rag from the counter and went to clean one of the tables.
Urra growled deeply, he didn't care if this 'Amaya' did do suicide, he wanted to kill her almost the instant she began to talk. "Vera asked me to watch you, and I will not permit you doing this act." He declares to the raceetah chuckling on the roof. His eyes glared hard, digging his claws into the ground to resist hurting her.
"Oh really? And what would she do if you told her I even attempted it? Take my body away to where I breathed no more-ha! Like I even wanted to live...why the gods have forsaken me..." The raceetah replied, looking back at her target. All she did ever since she recalled her former life was try to kill herself again and again, though she soon found out the body she had would only repair and she was trapped once more. So, she switched to where she desired to hurt the very ones who she despised even the slightest. "Why do they not punish them? Why not punish the one who killed you, even? Your mother...your father..and even your-"
He suddenly launched at her, pinning her down onto the ground not caring if the fall from the roof hurt her or not. "Enough. Speak those words no more, you do not understand my situation. Don't compare me with yours." Urra said lowly then sighed, getting off of her then bite into her side. This was what he was able to do, as a creature of his form would towards its youth. You will finish your morning duties like the rest. His voice echoed her mind, slouching across the allyways as he carried her.
"Just leave me be...let me take my revenge.." Her voice muttered, frustrated why they didn't let her. 'Do this' 'Do that' was the words they echoed, the only one who seemed to care was Vera yet she hated the fact how many times the woman tried to help her. "I want their blood...and if you keep this up, I'll add you to the list as well." She threats, pounding Urra's head. His reply was a simple chuckle, to which she replied with silence. Her eyes towards the floor as they darkened even more so with hate.

((So they don't live together anymore?)) No matter how deep the darkness...  Hikaru walked through the streets of the Middle Ring, her face and the rest of her person hiddened by a tattered traveling cloak. It had been a long time since she had been in Ba Sing Se. There were so many memories here. She remembered Yue, Vera, and Jet. She remembered how they had become like family to her, and how she had even began to fall for Jet. "Are they still here? How are they doing?" she wondered. "I left so suddenly. How could I stay? Not after those assassins found me..."There will always be a light...

((This is starting to sound like one of those midnight dramas...))
Yue Yao'an peeked out from his hood, and saw that there was an exciting crowd. People walking around town seemed excited and were dressed in their best; it seemed completely alien that there were some people in rags and cloaks on the streets.
"Oh right... the Earth King." He'd almost forgotten. He had heard that a fine gentleman had replaced the old Earth Queen as the sovereign of Ba Sing Se.
After a few minutes, the crowd began to clear. Many headed in the direction of the Upper Ring, and the streets became rather lonely. There were still some snow left over from a recent blizzard.
Yue felt his finger twitch as Fufu squawked from above. Something wasn't right. The street had cleared out, leaving very few people left on the street. Yue found himself reaching for his bow and quiver...
An arrow pierced through the air towards Yue from the rooftop. Instinct developed from his days as a Yu Yan Archer caused Yue to burst into action, sprinting out of his cloak and onto the street, where he was completely exposed as a Yu Yan Archer by his short jacket and baggy trousers. Idiot...!
Another arrow whizzed past him as he ducked and readied an arrow on his bow, then released it and watch as assassin, clad in black, fall from the rooftop of a building onto the street. There was a scream, and a barrage of arrows flew towards Yue. "GET AWAY!" Yue shouted to everyone on the street. He himself somersaulted and landed a few meters away. There were over a hundred or so assassins on the rooftops of the buildings, armed with crossbows. "Hmph, it must be my old comrades, the Yu Yan Archers."
He tried running, but slipped on ice and fell. "Dammit!" Pushing himself up, he hid behind a cabbage cart and pulled three arrows from his quiver...

(And, nice one on the 'cabbage cart' I lovvve that character so much, I mean he's just everywhere throughout the series)
Vera takes a small break as she steps out the back door. She glances around at the flags, recalling how another Earth King has stepped up. Though, she wasn't one to care about who ruled, just their actions. Maybe Mansu is done? It was a bit chilly out so she grabbed her jacket before leaving the shop. Turning the corner to suddenly have people run past her. " What the-?" She begins to say, trying to avoid being trampled on as she went off towards the side. Just what's gotten into them? She grunts, waiting patiently for them to past before resuming her walk. Not aware of the possible threat the people were running from, really picturing one of her spirits causing the trouble.

(( biggrin They say the 'spirit' of him will remain in the Legend of Korra series.))
Yue Yao'an began praying to some spirit up there, but he didn't exactly know which. He flinched as another hail of arrows rained down on the street, but he was luckily protected by the cart of cabbages. The old cabbage vendor, meanwhile, had run off with surprising speed.
Yue suddenly turned as the last arrow touched the ground, and shot his three arrows. Only one of them hit its mark, and Yue saw that an assassin fell from the rooftop to his death on the stony streets. He shuddered, collapsing back behind the cart. "I can't do this..."
He looked side to side, finding a possible escape route. The coast seemed clear, but he didn't know how he could outrun hundreds of arrows aimed at him. He pulled out another three arrows, wiping a tear from his eye.

(That would soooo funny if suddenly he was literally in the spirit world xDDDD Sry, but that's what my mind pictured when you said that)
A few more thuds suddenly echoed, as about four more assassins fell. "Such an expression doesn't suit you, old friend." A voice sounded around him, a large wall of earth suddenly protecting him from more arrows. Vera soon reveled herself on the other end of the wall, giving a big grin in greeting. She stomps hard, shifting her footing as cracks went through out the wall. Parts of the wall began to float once more, one by one flying towards the assassins Vera spotted. She then side stepped, joining Yue's side as she nudged him,"Now, what's the plan?"

No matter how deep the darkness... Hikaru heard screaming and spun around, just in time to be knocked over by a fleeeing man. "Hey! Watch it!" Hikaru yelled after him, but the man was already halfway down the street, and had no intention of stopping. "Geez..." Hikaru murmured, as she pulled herself to her feet. "What's with him? He seemed almost...scared..." Hikaru glanced back in the direction from which the man came. There was nothing decernably frightening there. All was quiet. Too quiet. Curiousity got the better of Hikaru, and she began running in that direction, wondering just what was happening in Ba Sing Se.There will always be a light...

Yue Yao'an scowled at a comment like this, but soon it was replaced by an amazed expression. "V-Vera?!" His face once again was filled with a scowl as the assassins fired another round of arrows and began jumping down onto the street, drawing their swords and preparing to fight in close-quarters combat.
"You've sealed my escape route." He sighed as the assassins neared, cautiously approaching the cart which Yue was using as a cover. "The plan...? Create a distraction and run like hell. You have any explosives or anything?" He had a bad feeling about this, seeing Vera in the Middle Ring. It was like his past was coming back to haunt him.
