 As the richest of the three rings, the Upper Ring contains the city's upper-class population and its most important citizens, as well as military and government officials. The Royal Palace is located in the center of the Upper Ring, within its own walls. The buildings of the Upper Ring are huge walled compounds, much like small versions of the Earth Kingdom Royal Palace itself, and the roofs are done with yellow tiles to symbolize the richness of the building and its owners.

Yue Yao'an, a retired Yu Yan Archer, sighed at how his past was coming back to haunt him. Just less than half an hour ago, he had met two of his old friends, an army of assassins, and one Fire Nation dude who could shoot lightning.
Yue was dressed in a fine silk robe, the one he stole from an empty house of a rich family in the Middle Ring. He had gathered enough experience and knowledge of nobles across the Earth Kingdom to know what they wore. Underneath, he steal had the dirty Yu Yan Archer armor underneath, along with a complete set of arrows and darts. "So... I wonder which way is the palace?" He chuckled at the thought that he might have accepted the mission of assassinating the Earth King a few years ago.

"Past this path ad the next." A voice echoed, as if to reply. Soon Urra came into view, then sat with watching eyes. "But, before you are to leave, we have business. " He adds with a low growl, a bit frustrated at Yue for his past deeds. Being a loyal servant to Vera, he was tired of her worrying for Yue. When in fact, he still had some hatred towards the man, himself.

Yue Yao'an looked around and found the spirit. He made sure nobody was watching, then took a stop forward so that he could better here the spirit. "What do you want?" he asked curtly. He was still dressed in the rich silk clothes, and wasn't exactly prepared for combat. But he knew the spirit would not attack him, as it was under the command of Vera.

"This act you are doing, for what reason do you commit it?" He states blankly still not swaying in his gaze. His ear flinches a bit, hearing a group of girls come into the scene. To which, he backs away slowly, returning once the girls past. Knowing how the Upper Ring despised him and the others from previous events. "And why must you avoid my mistress as well?" He finishes, the two questions he had been curious of for a long while.

No matter how deep the darkness...  Hikaru stood in the shadows of a nearby alleyway, watching the scene curiously. She knew she shouldn't linger, but she was curious about this rare exchange between the spirit and Yue. However, she had to be careful not to be caught. The last thing she wanted was to be questioned herself.There will always be a light...

Yue Yao'an crossed his arms. "I'm afraid I don't understand what you're saying. I don't get what you mean by 'this act'. I've changed, spirit. I've changed plenty." He gazed at the sky, realizing a Fire Nation airship was hovering a good distance away. He looked back to Urra. "I don't plan on sharing information. Sorry." He turned and prepared to leave. "I've got a certain coronation to attend, if you'll excuse me."

The sound of the harp...  Kotone soon reached the house of her designated target. It was a gigantic, rich looking mansion, complete with high wall, guards, and everything. There was sure to be good loot in there. However, Kotone wasn't sure if she was happy about that or not.A ballad for a thief...

No matter how deep the darkness... "Coronation? What does that have to do with anything?" Hikaru wondered tp herself. A bit of worry invaded her mind. The Earth King's coronation was today. Did Yue plan to do something? And if so, what?There will always be a light...

Too bad. Hui Ying could only thank the stars for that man the thief bumped into. If it wasn't for his cushy exterior, the guy would've run off with her precious belongings. Better be careful. She wanted to visit more of the city before going back to the Lower Ring. It wasn't that hard getting through each section, it was a ceremonial day. Wasn't she lucky to visit during the new Earth King's coronation ? Hui Ying wondered if she'd even be lucky enough to take a peek at the city's royal highness... One thing for sure, the Upper Ring sure had class ! Everything was so clean and rich ! She felt a bit out of place, with such pompous clothes and noble people. Her average earth kingdom dress didn't seem as much fun to wear when she first bought them. "Oh, I wish Ting Ting was here..." she wondered about her lemur friend. That animal better be happy within her family.

Leaving the alley, Yue Yao'an made his way around the streets of the Upper Ring, rather lost and confused. He hadn't been here before, so he didn't know where the Palace was. He spotted a girl with long black hair and clothing that didn't seem like that of a noble's. "Excuse me," Yue walked and asked Hui Ying, "do you know where the Earth King's coronation is going to take place?" He'd thought he saw the new Earth King before leaving Ba Sing Se.

She turned around, staring into the stranger's eyes. Maybe he was some guard telling her to keep off the Upper Ring. She tried a smile, feeling even more out of place than before. She almost pointed at her, just to be sure he was really adressing her. "Me ? I'm sorry sir but I can't help you. I'm a newcomer here myself and heard about the coronation today. I thought I'd be a good idea to take a peek at the Upper Ring before getting back." She looked down at her shoes, feeling embarassed for them both.
She glanced around them, maybe someone else had the information they wanted. Too bad she couldn't pull out a map scroll out of her bag, they could've both found out something. "Don't you get the feeling of being watched ? Anyway, we can always travel through the city together. A coronation is bound to have some mass form of crowd gathering." she plainly said. Hui Ying loved to look out for herself and trusted her instincts. Right now, there was somebody who followed. Not her, maybe him.

"After a while you get used to it. It's a big city, after all," Yue Yao'an waved dismissively. "I suppose we could travel together. I haven't been here for a year, and this is the second time I've been to Ba Sing Se. Not to mention the first time I've been to the Upper Ring." Yue looked at the expensive-looking mansions around town, with beautiful trees and gardens. Anybody from here would think him a minor noble from the Middle Ring, as he was wearing stolen silk robes. The Yu Yan Archer marks that were on his face had luckily washed off a little, leaving only a bit of red paint on his nose.

No matter how deep the darkness... Hikaru continued watching Yue as he spoke to a girl she didn't recognize. He seemed lost. Then again Hikaru couldn't blame him. She had only been to the Upper Ring a handfull of times, and they had always been to dance. She had never explored the Upper Ring, and she now had no idea where they were either.There will always be a light...

It was a rhetorical question. She glanced at the rich merchants, the passerby's in their expensive clothing, the buildings. She felt sad about the margin between the classes, the separation. It was as impossible to invade as the Great Wall. "We could always hang and walk around. We're bound to find our way anyway ! Even if we'll look so touristic." she ended that on a light note. "So where to first ? Maybe we could ask someone ? But then, they would push us away for being lowly peasants. If I was the one who talked though since you seem to blend in..." There she was, talking more to herself than anyone else.
