Character name(s): Sabaku no Haru and Sabaku no Sora
Youkai blood?: Father is Gaara (3/4 youkai jinchuuriki) and mother is Mira (1/4 youkai and descendent of Yokubou/Lust)- In other words, half-youkai. Seemingly kitsune type.
Background (in modern context): Both twins were born in the city to a ramen bar owner after she had an rather interesting (that's still on and off and on) affair with the jinchuuriki Sabaku no Gaara.
They grew up accustomed to the many different youkai who frequent their mother's bar, and when they discovered their own strange powers, they started off by playing small pranks upon people in their schools and such.
Both twins are very fond of those that they deem family, and very protective of who they actually allow into their circle. However to get that particular honor, one usually goes through a series of "tests" to see if one is worthy. They are hard to trust others, but once someone's trust is gained, it is still a far cry to the "inner sanctum" of their family.
Because of this, a good few of the jokes and pranks seem rather cruel.

Outfit and weapontry: Both normally wear pretty mudane clothing, though of a punkish nature, often incorporating skulls and bones to the black leather and mesh tops. On occasion, they will wear a black cape to keep warm or to make themselves look a slight bit cooler and stealthier.
At school, both wear the uniform of the school, though both add a skull barrette and a silver hoop earring worn on opposite sides from each other.
They carry kunai that their father gave to them, in addition to metal yo-yo's and very fine wire that they can manipulate.
Profession: Busboys at the Ramen Bar their mother owns, Students in High School
Extra details (anything important about your character): They pride themselves on being each other's reflection and are very close. They can be told apart, but unless you know the secret, it's near impossible.
When they get frightened or upset, a fox tail appears on their back.
Abilities: Chakra manipulation, primarily wind and fire release jutsu. They also can manipulate bones, an ability that confuses some of the elder youkai, since no one in their personal heritage can do that. In addition, they have very good disguise skills, much like the kitsune and can change their appearance, size, age, and gender mostly at will. (there're still some kinks to it.)

Character name(s): Hoshiakari (disquised name is Akarino Hoshi)
Youkai blood?: Daughter of Sin the Aeon and Phoenix the Eidolon, so full blooded Youkai.
Background (in modern context): Hoshi was born after her parents traveled to the city, (due to a very Romeo and Juliet type story, except without the dying, but with plenty of violence) and grew up among many different types of youkai and humans. She is really friendly, not seeing any reason why the two races would fight, and doesn't quite understand the wars between her parents own tribes.
Since word of her birth, there have been multiple attempts to kill/kidnap her, none of which she was aware of until a few months ago, when her field trip was interrupted and her best friends Chain and Yuri were hurt in trying to protect her without knowing what it was that they were fighting or why.
The injuries were minor, but it still enraged her that people had hurt her friends to get to her, and she revealed the fact that she was a youkai to the two, and fought against the instigator, who turned out to be rather weak.
Later she found out that they actually had youkai blood themselves, and the three actually grew closer through the event. However, after that, Hoshi decided that maybe she should get stronger, so that no one she loved would get hurt again.

Outfit and weapontry: She wears a white yukata with dis-attached white sleeves and a red obi with bells at the end of the middle rope that ties it, she wears netted leggings and red toe-less boots. In her youkai form, she has pointed ears and a black leathery wing and a white feathery wing that stick out of her back. When the wings are not out, there are intricate tattoos on her back to represent them. Normally her silver hair is in two pigtails, and she wears a red headband to keep her long bangs out of her face.
Her main weapon is a naginata, though she also carries shurikan and caltrops, in addition to an ocarina.
Otherwise, she's in her school uniform, though she sometimes wears the boy's just for the fun of it. (and because her teacher makes such a funny face when he's yelling at her)
Profession: High Schooler
Extra details (anything important about your character): Hoshi is very friendly, often trusting or distrusting someone at first sight. She has a mischievous streak, though all of her jokes are harmless.
There have been attempts on her life since she was an infant, and both of her parent's tribes want her very much dead.
For some reason, it took a good while for her to realize about the attempts, mainly due to her father's set-up of guarding her and an incredible sense of luck that she has (i.e., She'll bend down to pick up a dollar and a bunch of kunai and other weapons fly over her head).
Abilities: Hoshi has chakra manipulation abilities, and her seem to deal with lightning based jutsu more than anything else. Her naginata can cut through any material, and she has the ability to fly with her wings. She can also see into other people's thoughts, easily picking them up, and has to shield herself from hearing everything at once, though she can read the auras around a person and tell the mood that they are in, which can sometimes be misleading to intentions.
If she ever sees a pure black or pure white aura, she will more than likely run, taking any of her friends with her.

Character name(s): Karasu Uchiha
Youkai blood?: I'm going to guess 3/4 for now
Background (in modern context): He was born and raised in the city after his parents moved there years before (since This a A/U and modern, I'm just going to say that Itachi is still alive as well as his clan and for now is an only child as the twins don't exist in this one. I am tempted to make a sister for him named Kotori).
City native or new arrival?: City Native
Outfit and weapontry:
He tends to dress neatly/sharply. He doesn't like looking sloppy. He tends to have a dandy goth like style but can also dress casual as well.
Profession: Student, about to graduate middle school and enter high school
Extra details (anything important about your character): Karasu is the observant and calm type usually. He also tends to keep to himself or stick with a small group of friends instead of a large group (I'm guessing he is quite popular). Secretly can be a bit a of perv. He can be a bit cold to people at times and is hard to get is interest in something. He isn't interested in school sports. His favorite food is onigiri/rice balls.
Abilities: Like his parents, he has water and fire nature elements. He also has the sharingan/mangekyo perhaps. Since he is 3/4 he will appear human but can disguise himself as well. He would often disguise himself as a crow and has the ability to talk to them as well as spirits. Reasons are unknown at this time.
