β H A R U H I β"My smile may reflect the gentle sweetness of spring... "To his little comment about her being kidnapped, she shrugged a little first, lifting her pale shoulders slightly covered by the fair fabric of her dress, before she nodded to a 'yes'. And so she would go on, knowing that he was listening to her. Perhaps it was because no one had listened before, that she hadn't told it to anyone. It felt like a weight lifted itself from her shoulders, but she still felt a little cold in her heart from the memories, that had burned themselves into her mind, reminding her of the men and that one woman. "I was the only girl among us three, and perhaps that was why they used less violence on me than the boys... but in that moment I wished I could stand up for them." Haruhi lowered her gaze. If she could just have done something, but no, she had been hold up with her wrists tied behind her back, when the boys had taken beats for not being quiet and attracting attention. "They looked so hurt, but I couldn't do anything at all... We were moved down the bottom of a horse-driven carriage to not attract more attention. But then everything turned black before my eyes, and when I woke up I found myself on a steam locomotive. The other kids told me that we had been separated just to be joined now and taken somewhere. And before we knew it, the black-haired woman who had taken a part in the abduction had sold us to a slave auction having us as their midnight attraction as the 'new items'. Like if we were caged animals. That was the last time I saw the others."
Haruhi paused, her eyes a little narrowed for a moment. They had treated them like did their lives mean nothing. But why them? No kids should have been stolen away from their family at all. "Years later, many years later, but one would never have guessed of my appearance, I was brought to my soon to be owner, but something went wrong, and slave traders from the slave trade you witnessed before took me with them. I had never thought that slave traders would steal from other slave traders, but it seemed to be what had happened", she said and turned her eyes towards him faintly. She hadn't noticed that the car had stopped; the purring sounding from the working engine had become silent. Haruhi wondered though, what he thought of it all...

A strange look in his gray eyes, he leaned back in his seat, one hand still on the steering wheel. The car purred like a content kitten. But he didn't really hear it, only Haruhi. Depressing, it was depressing to hear what the woman had gone through. But it was also agrivating, the thought of how people could actually be treated like that. Just the image of boys getting abused for their behavior and the thought of how Haruhi was once treated really hit a nerve. It wasn't the first time. If there was anything that Valentine couldn't stand, it was how people treated slaves. Needless to say, Haruhi would be treated well while living with him, he would make sure of it. But why them though? What did fate have in store with letting all of this happen to them?
"Quite a history. I must admit, I admire you. You speak of it with no malice, none that I can indentify anyway." he commented. And the fact that slave traders would steal from other slave traders, what was the point of that? It didn't make much sense to him. Shutting the car off, he opened his door and slid out. "I guess it's exactly that, history. Nothing bad is going to happen to you 'round here." He said with a light smile before shutting the door behind him. Walking around the back of the car, he opened the passenger door for Haruhi to step out.
Dealing with things could be a bit tricky. After getting out of that place, Haruhi probably wanted to eat and shower. And he had to go clothes shopping for her. They could do that tonight or tomorrow. The mall was open twenty four hours a day for creatures who just hated sunlight. Though he wasn't one of those, it made more sense to try to get Haruhi settled in a little before leaving the house again. Of course, she would have to go with him to shop. Valentine knew nothing of clothes shopping, especially for females.
Sunlight shone brightly down on them. As his eyes shifted towards the mansion before them, they turned a light silver. So much to do, so little time. At least moving around would get his mind off of a few things. But then again, it all came down to what Haruhi wanted. { βͺ πΏπ₯π’ π°π«π‘ βͺ }

β H A R U H I β"My smile may reflect the gentle sweetness of spring... "Haruhi had in surprise... almost disbelief raised her head a little quick, when he said those words of him admiring her. He... admired her? She wouldn't even have given herself that thought by accident, she thought slightly, but he seemed honest about that, and the look his gray eyes told her, that he was really speaking the truth. Her expression then went back in it's composed look. At that time back then she hadn't thought of where these happenings to the other children and her would bring them. The Slave Trade hadn't been a possibility back then, but who would have expected such a faith? Of course the thing about being abducted sent thoughts to your head, but they were slightly... different. What had they wanted from them? Would they come after their family too? Did they know about this? ... Why? The mystery as to why it had been those three kids remains still unsolved today, but if she could, she would find out. But in the end it wouldn't make that much of a difference, would it?
She nodded then a little after he had reached his hand over to open the door. Nothing bad here... that was indeed a nice thought, and a comforting one at that. Haruhi hoped that she would be able to feel safe here, now that this apparently was supposed to be her new home. She had herself just been about to open the door to her side, when she caught a glimpse of him through the window, not having expecting him to get out that fast and even offer to open her door at that. The girl seemed to smile with her eyes for a moment, as she got out of the car, enjoying the feeling of the fresh, breezy air coming towards them with the faint scent of a mixture of many things in the light air. "I'm glad... That makes me happy to think that, but I feel that I am in debt to you, Valentine", she said in her soft, melodic voice, moving so that the door could be closed before looking his way. He indeed had saved her in there, and it was something she would hardly ever forget, had it even been a fairly small thing.
She had walked a few steps ahead of him, looking back at him a few times gently, before she would return her gaze to the great mansion before them. "Wau... This place, it looks really great", she said, her voice a little quiet, as her eyes were looking the building over. It really looked magnificent from this angle, where she stood. Somehow she got a feeling of being smaller than she was, when standing in front of it. The details and style of it... it fitted this master, she couldn't help but think, and it let her back to the thoughts about the car suiting him as well. In her mind she smiled little at that little addition to it. It really looked nice to her no matter how she looked at it, but her curiosity wasn't done sprouting yet.

Valentine had been serious, completely serious. Well, whatever the reason that Haruhi was abducted, he wouldn't mind helping her find out why. A light breeze seemed to make him relax just enough. "In debt to me?" he questioned, chuckling low in his throat. "I didn't do anything." And to him, he didn't. Valentine didn't think of 'buying' Haruhi as saving her life, just helping her get away from that hell. Nothing big enough for her to owe him anything. He followed a few paces behind Haruhi, following her to the mansion. "Thank you." he replied, his voice light. At least she approaved of the outside. She'd probably be blown away by the inside. Walking ahead of her, he fished his keys out of his jacket pocket and opened the front door, kicking it open lightly. It opened to reveal the foyer.
Looking back at Haruhi, Valentine didn't enter yet but he made a hand motion that obviously said 'Ladies first.' The room was already bright without the lights turned on. Sunlight shone through the windows. Valentine entered after Haruhi, closing the front door behind him. His left hand had removed the glove from his right. Currently, he was flexing his right hand. Truly, he hated those gloves but it didn't matter. He removed the glove on his left hand and put them both in the chest pocket of his jacket, the fingers stuck out slightly. "I'm guessing we should deal with important things first. Are you hungry? Then I can give you a tour."
He leaned his back against the front door, watching Haruhi look around calmly. There were a few things that had to be done to get her settled in. Valentine still kind of wondered what species she was. To be put in the unknown warehouse. . . Why had she been tied up anyway? Haruhi didn't look the least bit agressive. Maybe he was just judging the cover but she seemed like a calm enough person. Respectful and kind, from what he saw. She would be a mystery for a while, and he wouldn't ask anything else of her. It seemed far too rude to. Patience, he would need patience to figure her out. { βͺ πΏπ₯π’ π°π«π‘ βͺ }

β H A R U H I β"My smile may reflect the gentle sweetness of spring... "She was just about to reply, that he had done something. And let that be an important act, since one's freedom really did matter. But just as she had had on mind back then; if not she could get away with other's help, then she would have most likely tried escaping on her own at this time - perhaps in such ways as to try and pull her hands out of the chains binding her hands together at that time; but doing such a thing could not be painless. Haruhi stood silent by his side, when he would open the door and push it open with just a light kick. The pleasant warmth was the first thing that reached her and hereafter a little piece of the sight waiting for them inside. As the first one she walked in a short while after, accepting his somewhat gallant way of acting.
Haruhi instantly let her eyes swiftly take in the sight of the foyer, the bright room having a refreshing feeling. It was beautiful how the golden streaks through the windows created a shimmering light in the air almost like fine, spider-web thin and sheer fabric. The decorated wall painted in light yet pale colors was one the thing that along with the stairs caught her attention the most, finding herself looking at it a moment more to get a few more of the details. Then she turned to him and nodded slightly. "Yes, I'm hungry. It's been... a while, since I last had something", she answered him and could only look forward to get some nutrition.
Of course she had gotten food once in a while, but it had only been when she behaved, and that had been a problem a few times.

"I figured as much." he said pushing himself off of the door. Walking past Haruhi, he was about to touch her head before remembering that his hands were exposed. Immediately, Valentine pulled back and continued walking. Moving through the hallway towards the kitchen. A maid looked up from the oven, she stood up straight and bowed slightly. Saying something like 'Good day.' Valentine waved a dismissive hand. "How many times do I have to tell you? Quit being all polite." She gave a light smile before returning to whatever she had in the oven.
Valentine pulled himself up onto a counter. "You can look around and see if there's anything you want in the fridge or the cabinets. Or ask Aiko here." he said nodding towards the maid. Aiko looked up and smiled warmly before bowing slightly. "Hello." she greeted, her voice soft and velvety. Valen set his elbow on his knee, his right hand closed into a fist and he leaned his cheek against it. Whatever Aiko was making was causing a light and delicious scent to move through the air. He hadn't been hungry moments ago but now he was. { βͺ πΏπ₯π’ π°π«π‘ βͺ } (OOC: Gah~!!! Writers block sad Short post. Sorry crying )

β H A R U H I β"My smile may reflect the gentle sweetness of spring... "Haruhi smiled a little at his comment, before she noticed that he was coming towards her. Curiously she raised one of her perfectly curved eyebrows slightly, but her eyes looking questioningly up. It was only lasting a few moments, but the motion had made her wonder. It seemed like he had looked at his hand the moment he hesitated, and she got the thought off something being a little off. Could it be that because she was just brought back from the Warehouse, that he wouldn't let his bare hand touch her? Her expression kept being composed, but she would have shook her head the thought the moment had come. No, he wasn't that kind of master, and if she could say so, then he didn't really seem to prefer the polite, uptight way of acting - in other words being proper and keeping his hands gloved. Or perhaps she was just wondering too much about this, and that could be a possibility.
She followed him through the hallway, taking in the look of how the home appeared before her, until they ended up in the kitchen, where she instantly let her eyes rest on the other person in there. From her point of view she reminded her a bit of a maid, and how she was standing close to the oven made Haruhi know, that she was cooking. It was about this time, that the inviting scent of something being cooked reached her, and with a little smile she more than willingly let herself enjoy the light scent. She wondered what it was, the girl was cooking, but kept quiet as they spoke; listening instead. Her master, Valentine, seemed rather casual in the kitchen judging from how he moved around. She had turned towards the girl, her eyes giving a gentle and soft look.
"Hello... My name is Haruhi. I can see you are the one cooking here?" she said to the girl, having nodded her head, when she bowed before her, but really had wanted to tell her that it had been unnecessary. She seemed to have a warm personality. "Is there any food left from dinner or anything in the fridge?" Haruhi said slightly and looked slightly to the fridge. It would be nice with some food, and she really wasn't that picky, so getting something to eat would be easy enough. Though, she couldn't help but feel just a little awkward in this home, since she had only just arrived. Haruhi wouldn't want to ask too much of them. It was fine like this how things had turned out.
OOC; It's okay - and it's not that short. c:

It may have seemed like a rude gesture, but it wasn't meant to be. He had his reasons. And honestly, he didn't want to think about what Haruhi was assuming. It wasn't hard to read her expressions. He didn't even need his telepathy to read her, just observe her face. Being that it was his home, he was usually casual and more relaxed. Though, that didn't seem to stop him from being rather polite certain times and to certain people. He watched the girls silently, curious as to how Haruhi took to being around other females. She handled it well. The girl smiled warmly, "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Aiko." she replied. "Yes, I am."
Pondering the thought for a moment, Aiko moved away from the oven. Her dress flowing as she moved towards the fridge quickly. Her heels making soft clicks on the floor. "I believe so, unless sir Valentine ate everything." she said softly, her voice teasing. Valentine gave a light shrug before averting his gaze to the window. Not bothering to correct Aiko again, why she chose to be so polite was beyond him. If it made her feel comfortable, then by all means. Aiko laughed before opening the fridge door, peering inside. She glanced over her shoulder at Haruhi, "Anything in particular that you want?" she questioned. Even if Haruhi wasn't picky. No one was going to give her something that she wouldn't enjoy. Might as well find something that she would like to eat.
It didn't take much effort to see that Haruhi still felt a little awkward. And Valentine couldn't exactly blame her. A new home, new people. It was a bit to get used to. But definitely better then the warehouses, that was for sure. Haruhi wouldn't be asking too much. Aiko was there to serve, it was her job and she had no complaints about it. And Valentine, he didn't mind helping around. Asking for food and other things that were necessary or wanted weren't much trouble to obtain. { βͺ πΏπ₯π’ π°π«π‘ βͺ }

β H A R U H I β"My smile may reflect the gentle sweetness of spring... "Haruhi wondered a bit for a brief moment, trying to think of something she felt like eating at the moment. Then after a little while of thoughts coming to her, something came to her mind, and her strangely enticing eyes lit up slightly, as she looked to where Aiko stood by the fridge. "Then I would like a sandwich", Haruhi finally answered softly and flashed the other girl a kind but quiet-placed smile. "Oh, and if you have cherry tomatoes or just tomatoes, then I would like one or two of those as well. I haven't really had the opportunity to eat such for a long time." And a sandwich could be quite delicious, she thought afterwards and felt a little more hungry than before, since she now had put words on the food she wanted to eat now.
To her Aiko seemed like a kind person, and usually she wasn't as distant around people she felt comfortable around. Warm personalities... to be surrounded by such was always nice, so she couldn't complain and wasn't going to. Absentmindedly she had taken a few steps back, so that her slender frame was slightly resting against the counter behind her, her hands casually and gently finding down to hold on to the edge of it and supporting herself a bit.
While waiting for an answer, Haruhi gave herself a moment to look around the kitchen for a bit, and trying to imagine how it would be like to stay here with these people. She felt more free here, that was one of the best things about it, for the feeling of being captured, owned and controlled had been more than enough for her in the end. The slave trade did something to people, and then another thing to others. And Haruhi hadn't been one of those slaves, that had been easy to be messed with in certain situations, and she had made sure that her wealthy masters or mistresses knew that she had a strong mind and wasn't going to put up with just anything.

She nodded at the woman's request and got to work. Pulling fresh already cut meat from the fridge before pulling bread from a cupboard and then retrieving a few cherry tomatoes. She quickly got to work putting the sandwich together, "Would you like anything else on it?" she questioned, still working on the sandwich, not looking up. "Would you like anything to drink?" Valentine asked from his seat on a counter. No one was going to mess with her here. Aiko was as close to an angel as it could possibly get- literally. Her wings weren't visible at the moment though. But she had large pure white ones.
Valentine just wasn't the kind of man to mess with people unless he saw it otherwise. Haruhi seemed like a good and behaved girl, she could stand up for herself if trouble came around. Though he would still be around to protect her if the time ever did come. Most likely, it wouldn't. But there was no telling what the future held. Sliding himself off of the counter, he passed by Haruhi and Aiko on his way to the fridge. Pulling a glass from a cabinet, he reached into the fridge, he pulled a pitcher filled with water from inside. His hands were gloved again, his gray gaze was dark as he poured himself a glass of water. Waiting for Haruhi's reply, he just set the pitcher on the counter, not putting it away just yet. He sipped from his full glass of water. { βͺ πΏπ₯π’ π°π«π‘ βͺ }

β H A R U H I β"My smile may reflect the gentle sweetness of spring... "As the other girl got to work on her sandwich, Haruhi followed the motions slightly with her eyes, mentally giving away a slight smile, as she noticed that they in fact did have cherry tomatoes. Haruhi liked the lightly sour yet sweet and fresh taste of the cherry tomatoes, which she would still be able to taste even a little while after. When she was asked something, Haruhi shifted a little in her standing position and moved a few strands of white hair behind her ear, so it wouldn't distract her eyes. "No, it's fine like that", she answered the other girl softly accompanied with a small shake with her head and wondered a little, if she was already done. It had been going fast, then, but no wonder if Aiko was the one cooking and used to moving around the kitchen. Perhaps she would get to know her a little more as time went by, but Valentine was not to be forgotten. One could say that he was mainly the person, she wanted to know something about even if just a little.
Then she turned her heart-shaped face to the man and nodded, her lips soon forming words to go with the movement: "Water is fine", she said to him and moved a step away from the counter, she had been leaning against. She found it a little mysterious, that he was even wearing gloves inside, but she decided that that question would have to wait for now. It was just something, she had noticed as he had moved over and opened the fridge. Haruhi had been paying attention to where he had gotten his glass from and thought that she as well could do something, so she reached up to take a gentle hold of one and softly moved to Valentine's side, some of her whitish hair sliding a bit behind one shoulder.
