Nozomi Boisu was born mute, and his parents abandoned him in a hospital when he was only five due to being tired of having children cover their house in eggs and toilet paper. For years Nozomi has been alone and wanting to find someone who would love him, but nobody in the hospital wanted to watch him and those who volunteer just quit as soon as they hear that he is mute. They think Nozomi is just a spoiled brat, but in truth all he wants is someone to love him.
That's when ~A~ comes in. In desperate need of job experience and a better reputation, ~A~ applies as a volunteer for the hospital. The only spot left is the position to take care of Nozomi, but rumors had it that he was spoiled. Even so, ~A~ doesn't care and he goes ahead and take the position. When he meets Nozomi, is he really doing this job for the heck of it or is it love at first sight?Rules♠ No content above PG-13 ♠ Please be active ♠ Try not to god-mod ♠ No text talk, since the decoding is annoying ♠ Minimize swearing ♠ Most of the time, at least two paragraphs per post ♠ One-paragraph posts are allowed, just not a continuous pattern ♠ If you're interested, please PM a profileCharacter SkeletonMy favorite singer: (username) I want to say: (Name) I'm this old: (18+) In a relationship, I'd be: (USS) I'd say: (Personality and History) You see me:

When he puts his heart to something, it's pretty hard to steer him away from it. As a kid he was very stubborn and rarely listened, but after a few incidents, he learned how to listen, even a little. How long has it been since that day? Eleven years? Yes, it probably has been, since he had been stuck here since he was only five years old. Almost nobody in the hospital cared about him, but he was still able to get schooling from a kindly nurse who he considered his mother. She taught him everything he should learn and so much more.
That was only too long a time ago. She died recently and now there was no one who cared about him. Why? Because Nozomi was mute. People just think he's a spoiled brat because they think people with disabilities get all the attention. Well, they didn't know him. They were always judging a book by its cover, or rumors in his case. Everyone, except that woman who actually loved him, was the same.

Keiren sighed as he approached he hospital. Alright, stay cool. You can do this. he kept thinking as he entered the establishment and told them that he wanted to volunteer. They exchanged glances and smiled, telling him that he got the job. Well... that was easy enough. he shrugged and listened intently as they explained where he would be working.
Once escorted to the room, he nodded to the doctor and entered the Room. "Hello. I'm Keiren. I'll be your new nurse." he smiled warmly at the other male. "Nozomi, huh? It's nice to meet you." he walked over to the other's bedside and looked down at him.

Nozomi just stared at the window and didn't bother to look at the person. It would only be around two or three seconds after the volunteer's arrival that he would leave. Nobody wanted to deal with a "spoiled brat" like him. A volunteer's job in his case is as simple as to enter the room, find out the patient is disabled, and then leave. It has always been that way, and it would perhaps always be that way.
Though Nozomi wanted to tell the volunteer to just go away and leave him alone, there was no paper or pen around and thus no way to communicate. The only thing he could do, since he didn't know how to use sign language, was to just ignore the volunteer and hope he would leave. He had probably suffered enough just being in the same room as a "spoiled brat."

Keiren walked out and went to get a notebook and a pen. He then returned to the room and began drawing. It did't take long before his sketch was done. It was a kitten, tangled up in yarn. He then handed the two items to Nozomi with a smile.
((So, can he hear?))

(Yeah, he can hear.)
At first, Nozomi was relieved when he heard the sound of footsteps leaving the room, but then he just had to look at the door when he heard those same footsteps return. It seemed that the person didn't leave after all, but why? Didn't everyone leave at the sight of him?
The thoughts went away when he noticed the person (Keiren, if he remembered right) drawing something. He was nearly shocked when Keiren handed him the pen and notebook. If he had a voice, he would have immediately commented on how adorable the drawing looked.

(Alright) Keiren smiled. "Would you like anything? I'm here to help." he smiled. "I'll also draw more for you if you like." he chuckled, waiting for the other to write. "I suppose I'm supposed to tell you about myself. I'm 19, I like to do anything pertaining to art. I'm here because I like helping people out when needed. That's about it." he shrugged.
"They didn't tell me much about you so, would you mind writing it down? I always like knowing about people that could be my friends." he smiled warmly, trying to reassure the younger male that he would stay around.

Nozomi lifted the pen and was about to write something, but all he did was draw a little mouse. He had never felt so uncomfortable about writing, so why did he begin now? Maybe it was because the person was strange. Heck, he was almost prepared to believe that maybe he was only imagining things.
Are you a real person? he finally wrote, scribbling the words next to the mouse's tail. As much as he wanted to write more, he first needed to confirm that the person wasn't a figment of his imagination. It would be quite terrible if what was happening now was merely an affect of insanity or anything of the sort.

After looking at the notebook, Keiren laughed. "Of course I'm real." he said, drawing a small bird beside the mouse. The kid already though he wasn't real. Wow. "Do you like art too?" he asked. Maybe they could paint together one day.
"Oh, will you wait here a second? I have to go sign in at the front desk. I almost forgot." he laughed nervously and quickly left the room to find the sign-in sheet. It took a good 7 minutes and then he was back in the room.

During the time Keiren was away, Nozomi continued drawing random things on the notebook. In seven minutes the current page was already filled with drawings of people, animals, plants, and anything else he could think of. The doodles were all small, so of course it would have taken him less time to fill the page than if he drew large things.
He resumed his previous 'task' of staring out the window, where he saw tiny dots of people walking around. The dots that moved quickly might have been children playing, a reminder of how much of his life he had missed because he had no voice.

After returning to Nozomi's room, Keiren smiled at the younger male and looked at the notebook. "Wow... Those are really good. I might even need your tips while drawing." he smiled and looked out the window. "Oh. You like looking outside?" he asked softly before patting the younger male's head.
"I'll take you out to play one of these days, alright? And we'll get ice cream and play at the park. It doesn't matter how old you are." he chuckled, sitting back down. "Now, will you tell me a bit about yourself?" he asked.

Nozomi turned the page of the notebook and started writing again. There isn't really anything interesting in my life. I just know I've been in here for eleven years and I never went outside even once. That should sum up his life. All he ever did was sit in the hospital and stare longingly out the window, like a bird in a cage.
Sometimes, he wished he could open the window and just jump, but then what was the point of that? When he tried, the nurses would just barge in and force him back into the room. Some of them would even threaten to send him to the asylum.
