That's right, I would like to know all about your hobbies. What do you love about them, what do you hate about them? How long have you had that hobby? How easy is it to get into?
Videogames, the internet, and shopping don't count as a hobbies.

I haven't had a true hobby in a very long time. I used to collect random junk to see what type of things I could craft out of them. I really liked making things with my hands. It was a good challenge to my imagination too; my goal was always to make the finished piece look as if it wasn't made of junk. But the last time I did anything like that, I barely remember. It's been a few years. Maybe I should take up a new hobby?

Music. I'm a musician. I hate almost everything about it. The practice, the theory. But I love the rush of being on stage. The cheer of a crowd when you do well. The sound of an original song through the speakers. I've been doing it for almost nine years. I think its easy to get into. The hard part is getting good.

Forgot to mention my hobbies... I enjoy 3D animation and Graphic Design. It's not easy to get into, considering the price of the programs, and the rather steep learning curve. However the creative freedom you have, especially in 3D animation is unlike any other art form. You aren't limited by the size of a canvas or the amount of clay you can afford. It's really quite amazing.
I also enjoy target shooting. I've been competing for a long time, and it's something I really enjoy. It's also pretty hard to get into. I don't like how much it costs to keep licenses to travel with my competition weapons. It's also not easy to get good at it. I've spent years practicing.

I read quite a bit, I advocate for entrepreneurialism, I advocate for quite a few other things in various communities online and offline, I've played Eve Online since 2003, and my wife and I added Gaia to our list of things we do. So I guess I don't have "hobbies" in the way you define them. I've never felt attached to things so I don't collect stuff. After I failed 2D Design for the third time I gave up on ever doing anything artistic.
I'm much more interested in issues-oriented education, advocating and networking, and most of that is done online these days.
I used to play various pen and paper RPGs and Warhammer 40K but I found more fun in roleplaying for the sake of real life stuff instead. Still love me some Paranoia though when I go to GenCon.

i like to run, read, play soccer, and i also consider babysitting a hobby. i do it mostly for fun, and think of the money as more of a bonus, because i think kids are absolutely amazing.

My hobbies are... rather varied. I love computers -- I'm taking classes in college for computer repair/troubleshooting, programming, and graphic design. (Speaking of, if anyone needs a banner or other graphic done, let me know.) I couldn't tell you when I first got into computers -- my mom is basically tech support for her family, and somewhere around the time that the new technology overwhelmed her, I picked up on it. Unfortunately, that makes me Level Two of her family's tech support. Computers are expensive, and everything updates so quickly it can be hard to stay on top of, but I sure as hell try. Plus, I catch a lot of flack for being the only girl in my college who's going for a Computer Science degree. What's up with that? gonk
I'm also a leather worker -- that is, I fix leather items, as well as make new ones. (I'm working on two belts and a gun holster, right now -- and when I get in my harness leather, I'm making a Portuguese Presentation bridle for my gelding. ) I'm no professional at it, but I'm learning. I did some leather crafting as a child with my grandfather, but when he passed away, I was summarily kicked out of the family and was forced to give it up due to lack of equipment. Then, this year, my uncle (the one who's still cool with me) unearthed grandpa's leather working tools and gave them to me... so I picked it up again. Like computers, leather working can be expensive. Leather is not cheap, and the tools are hard to come by in my area. I don't have a machine to sew with, so I have to hand sew everything or else take it into a local tack shop and pay for them to do it. But I like making things, and it gives me a chance to get away from my computer. xD
My final, but favorite, hobby is my horses. I have four horses whom I ride, and two more who are being trained to pull a cart. I show in gymkhana events, mostly (That is, barrel racing, pole bending, flag races, plug races, etc. Timed events.) but also do some training. As I said before, I'm training my two youngest ones to pull carts, and one of them I'll eventually break so that a kid can ride him. (He's four years old and already acts like an old, experienced ranch horse -- definitely kids' pony material.) I also have a ten-year-old who is just starting on barrels, and two mares I'm learning how to work cattle off of. So I'm kept plenty busy. I'm pretty sure it goes without saying that horses are expensive, but I simply can't imagine being without them.

Well then. If video games and internet don't count? LOL
I enjoy Cooking, but I don't have the resources to really get into it. I'd LOVE if I could freely experiment with different foods, but it's so cost-prohibitive to just pick random things and try them out. I don't have many good tools either. I dream one day of having a HUGE kitchen with lots of counter space and two in-wall ovens high enough so that I don't have to bend over to get stuff out of them. Maybe someday I'll be able to afford something like that.
I also have a back problem that keeps me from standing around the kitchen for long, and bending over to get stuff out of the oven/lower cupboards. As such, I cook somewhat infrequently.
