Oh wow people still check on this place, that's amazing.
Personally, my top five albums, in no particular order, would be
-Fang Island - s/t
-Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
-Phantogram - Eyelid Movies
-Holy ******** - Latin
-Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
That last one doesn't really fit with this guild, but whatever.

-Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti – Before Today
-Best Coast – Crazy for You
-Caribou – Swim
-LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
-Warpaint – The Fool
I also enjoyed new Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade.

- Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti - Before Today
- Salem - King Night
- Magic Lantern - Platoon
- James Ferraro - Last American Hero
- Games - That We Can Play
Surprises
Abe Vigoda - Crush. Surprised at moving away from the lo-fi noise punk to post-punk. Works really well for them though
Post-dubstep. For a genre so reliant on 12" singles, some pretty good LPs came out from Guido, Mount Kimbie and Vex'd this year. James Blake and Pariah also delievered solid EPs
Disappointments
No Age - Everything in Between. Not that interested in the change in direction, preferred the frenetic pace and melodies of Nouns
Nite Jewel - Am I real? Preferred the italo disco sound of her debut

aaaaand Twin Sister's EP Color Your Life. I hope they release more soon because I really really love this.
