It's Christmas time, and all we hear
Is joyous laughter and of Christmas cheer.
The stores are filled up to the brim,
Christmas shoppers with the last second to win.
Christmas Eve is known for the procrastinators' holiday,
Who will buy the leftovers today?
Yet no one bothers the scene betrayed
Of humans dressed in long ago clothes unseen by today.
Shivering in the snow in a makeshift stable,
To some this story is just a fable.
A baby doll, plastic, but real, sits in a manger
Surrounded by silent strangers.
No one stops and says "Merry Christmas".
Only "Happy Holidays" and nobody notices this...
Why only now do we say "Happy Holidays"?
Why not "Merry Christmas"? Are we all dazed?
People get offended, enraged, it's true....
But what about you?
((Haha! Very stupid poem, I know... I've had a block for quite sometime, besides, I rarely ever get the time to just sit down and write...))
