I own this book that I picked up used for 3 bucks at a store:

The Illustrated Guide to Divination

It's actually quite interesting, lists numerous divination methods and gives you a little introduction as to how they work and some of their history. Some sections even teach you a bit on the basics of how to do each method, like rolling dice or reading hands. It's pretty similar to a textbook you would have at a school, but for that awesome class that doesn't exist haha. There are even a bunch of layouts you can try out if you don't know that many. I got a very nice problem solving spread out of this book, although I did modify it a bit lol. Here's a list of what's introduced in the book-

-I Ching
-Mah Jongg tile readings
-Zen Koan
-Tarot
-Runes
-Palmistry
-Western / Chinese Astrology
-Numerology
-Native American Medicine / Medicine cards
-Mayan Oracle
-British Auguries
-Egyptian Oracles
-Scrying
-Tea Leave readings
-Cartomancy
-Throwing Dice
-Dowsing
-Dream Interpretation
-Psychic Abilities
-Sortes
-And a variety of oracle deck examinations scattered through the book

=====

So does anyone practice any other divination methods? Maybe talk about your experience with them in general or in comparison to Tarot? Also maybe once a month, if any of the above interest you, I could scan the pages from the book, find some links and we can do a discussion thread?

I've heard of people doing rune readings before but I don't know of how they're done or what the runes look like. Ever heard of anything related to runes? I'm pretty curious about 'em.

I'm not sure too much either. I haven't read a lot of sections in the book and that's one of them. But they're a bunch of stones with markings on them, and you pull some from the bag and toss them, and supposedly how they land and which ones you pulled give you an answer to your question or give you a reading. I should try and scan the pages and post some info up regarding them at some point to get a discussion going lol. There are some people in services I've seen who offer Rune readings though, would be interesting to see if they might chip in some info xD

I'd actually like to get a rune reading or find out where I can get my own runes.

Whats Cartomancy and Sorte D:

Cartomancy is using a deck of playing cards as tarot cards. Never tried it before but there are some decks built around that concept, essentially taking the regular deck of cards and adding imagery to them and explaining their meaning. Sortes is interesting, you pick up a book, think of a question, then randomly open the book up randomly and put your finger randomly on any part of the text. Essentially whatever line you put your finger on is supposed to give you your answer. Usually a spiritual or philosophical book is best used for the method.

Yeah Sortes is commonly done with a bible, but because a lot of people might not like that idea of using the book that way, they pick another. But other recommendations are the Lord of the Rings books, James Joyce's - Ulysses, works by Shakespeare, perhaps even the writings of Hermes, Virgil, Plato, Homer, Marcus Aurelius, Ghandi, Dalai Lama, or even your own tarot book or one that comes with a divination tool.

Exploring divination methods is such a personal and fascinating journey—there’s so much out there beyond the traditional systems. I’ve experimented with a range of practices, from tarot and pendulums to more modern, intuitive tools.

One method I’ve found especially useful for quick clarity is a simple yes or no decision tool—it’s great for those moments when you need a direct answer but don’t have time for a full reading. I’ve also been enjoying a divination dice method that gives randomized yes/no responses through a virtual dice roll—it adds a bit of fun and unpredictability to the process.

Always open to discovering more ways to connect with intuition—curious to hear what others have found effective! 🔮✨
