Canada agreed to hosting the annual Christmas Party, but is worried about what will happen with all the countries being together. Not to mention that there still are decorations to be put up, food to be made, and a lot of other preparations needing tending to.

Canada was not spared a moment of relaxation. He had so much left that he had to do before his guests arrived. He wasn't even done with the tree yet.
Oh no! What am I going to do? M-maybe I shoul call someone for help..."he thought as he put the turkey in the oven.
Maybe America...? He does like to help...
Canada set the timer and then pulled out his cell phone and dialed America's number.
Then again he does get off task easily. I wonder if anyone else will helphe thought as he climbed onto a wobbly chair to put a star on the tree.

France arrives extremely early, like always. He knocks on the door of his old colony's house. He just couldn't wait to see his little Matthieu again! He juggles around the different presents he brought to put under the tree. 'I sure hope this is better than last year's party.' He thinks.

Canada heard the knock on the door.
"C-coming!"he yelled as he tried to get down off the chair safely. To his dismay he still fell, falling back on his butt.
"Ow..."
With the star still in his hand, and a slight limp, he walked over to the front door and opened it.
"Oh! Hi France. Come in."

France smiled when Canada opened the door. "Bonjour Matthieu. Good to see you." He says. France notices all the stuff in his hands and his slight limp. "Oh, mon enfant, let me help you." He says as he walks in with grace. He puts the pile of presents in his hands onto the floor. He grabs something out of a bag he had, a santa hat, and puts it on. "Now how can France help you?" He asks with a smile.

Tears of appreciation started forming in Canada's eyes.
"Oh thank you! Thank you! Um, could you make some of the food while I do the decorations? I'd really appreciate it."he asked with a thankful smile.

(I don't know how the french do christmas so I'm going american style!!! Turkey ahoy!!!)
"Sure thing. Food is my forté. Anything for mon petit Matthieu." He says with a smile. He glides into the kitchen and looks around at the ingredients avaliable to him. 'Guess I'm making maple syrup flavored everything.' He thinks. A small chuckle escapes his lips. He looks in the fridge and smiles wide at the turkey. A large 15lb. turkey it said on the label. France quickly converts that in his head. "Perfect!" He says. He takes the turkey out and starts the marinade. Meanwhile, he starts pulling out ingrediants for biscuits. Lots and lots of biscuits.
forté-strength.
biscuits is the word for cookies in French.

With a sigh of relief, Canada went back to the chair next to the christmas tree was and climbed it again. He reached an managed to place the golden start on the tip.
"Perfect."
Making sure to take extra caution he stepped down and walked over to where the decorations for the mantles were. He picked up the red and greeen plaid cloths and fake plants and got started on that.

France soon had the turkey back in the fridge marinading and a tray or two of cookies in the oven. He walks back into the main room. "Oh Matthieu, what else can I do to help?" He says as the smell of maple syrup and orange waft from the kitchen.

The smells from the kitchen entered Canada's nose and a smile found its way onto his lips.
"That smells good, France"he said.
"Um...Could you-"the chair wobbled again-"whoa!-put those pointsettas and figurines around the house?"
He gestured over to the items with a foot.

"Sure." France says. He looked at Canada again. "Are you okay? That doesn't look safe." He says. He walks over to the decorations and starts spreading them around house in some of the best places he could think of.

"Yeah I'm okay."he replied, trying to put on a reassuring smile. He finally finished with the mantles and stepped off the chair safely.
"Let's see...all that's left are the lights."
He went to find France and when he told him:"France? I'm going to go put up the lights outside okay?"
He wanted the outside of his house to look at least a bit exciting.

"Okay Matthieu. Be safe." France says. He finishes putting some of the decorations up and sways back to the kitchen. He takes the trays of cookies out of the oven and sets them on the counter. He starts whipping up a new dough. Maple syrup in ginger snaps would take away some of the required sugar and mollasses. So he starts on those next.
(My whole family is all about food during the holidays. I could make France bake the entire party if I wanted to. I have that many cookie recipes. And Maple syrup and orange cookies are REALLY good. razz
And when are people going to arrive?)

Canada nodded and then headed toward the garage where all his lights were stored. He took armfulls of cords strung with lightbulbs, extension cords, and dragged a snowman, santa and his sleigh along with them. He quickly threw lights on the lining of the house and the roof. He put the snowman and santa on the front lawn on opposite sides. After some difficulty he hooked everything up and hit the on switch. Instantly his house was lit up with shades of green, red, and white and he smiled at his work.
Alright. I hope the others will start arriving soonHe thought as he headed back inside. He tripped over a wire though and landed face first in the snow.
"Ow..."
(FOOOOOOOD =w= I love food. those cookies sound yummy...now I want some. XD

(Canada is being a bit of a clutz there...)
France soon had some of the ginger snaps in the oven. He grabs a small plate of orance maple syrup cookies and brings them into the main room of the house and sets them onto the coffee table. "Matthieu?" He calls out. He wondered where the canadian had gone. He looks out a window and sees him face down in the snow. France rushes outside. "Oh Matthieu! Here, get inide. You'll catch a cold out here." He says as he helps the young blonde country up.
(Oh god... we could totally turn this into a Franada. lol.
My family makes cookies every year around Christmas. My mom's famous at her workplace for it. razz )
