Anything that has to do with a specific azn country's culture. So anything like... -Video games -music, traditional or modern -movies -clothing styles -Holidays -foods ... would be acceptable. Things that belong in other subforums would be most questions on language ( ask here), how to use chopsticks (ditto), or random stuff that has nothing to do with azn-ness (that doesn't have a place yet). When in doubt, ask here! [Feel free to post topics!]

Well, we can discuss about music right? Because I was wondering, I cam across a comment on a youtube video saying that only some vietnamese songs have been "true" to their culture instead of being "westernized" like korean and japanese, what are you thoughts on that? My own personal opinion is that I think its weird and really depends on genre I guess. I mean I listen mainly to k-pop now but is k-pop western? I guess I see the boybands with musical qualities similar to old western boybands...but i'm not sure k-pop has been too westernized,,,

K-pop is influenced by western culture, but I wouldn't say that it totally disqualifies k-pop as asian. It's from Korea, so it counts. It's a part of their everyday culture.

Well I afree its still considered asian but just because its from korea doesn't necessary qualify it as asian. That is to say, if someone from America were to do a cover of an american song in korean, would that be considered asian? what about the other way around?

i know we have a lot of Azn language classes, but no culture classes. i think it would be great if we could incorporate those. Maybe even a tidbit of history. (i'm interesting in possibly doing one; PM me please).

Dramas are ok too! They're actually pretty fun to watch owo And yeah since they're a part of everyday life, I don't see why that can't be considered pop culture. If you want to post a page about drama (either a certain one or just in general), go ahead! biggrin
