Story

Light is always tied to darkness, as with light there will always be shadows and darkness. And with darkness there will always be some light to create that darkness. Once can not exist without the other. The concept is the same with Angel's and Demons. Yet they both keep trying to wipe each other out, disgusted with the other and wars are always raging...all of this unknown to the humans living in their own world as they do not see the wars going on in Heaven or Hell. Whether they believe it or not. It has been shielded from their sight for centuries and continues to be. And thats a good thing as a new war is about to start, between Light and Darkness, Angels and Demons once again. But it might not all be bloodshed as other things can blossom from hate...

Accepted profiles: Angels

Name: Azrael
Age: 3678
Gender: Male
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 180
Race: Angel
Status/Standing: Arch Angel of Death
Weapon of choice: Three thousand years ago, Azrael carried the sythe he is often depicted with...now, however, he has opted for something a little more convenient: a sword.
Skills: Bringing swift, painless death. Summoning of shadow familiars.
Bio: Azrael has been called by many names throughout his long life, but the only one he cares about is "Hand of God". While Gabriel might be the Angel general, and Raphael the great Healer, Azrael was the one who collected souls, that precious gift only able to be bestowed by God. He was the one entrusted with making sure their journey to Heaven...or Hell...was safely guided. Now with the war drawing near, Azrael has vowed to be a soldier of God. While he does not hold a particular resentment for demons, having dealt with them in Hell of different occasions, he knew the cost of defeat. Azrael would do anything to ensure the survival of his fellow angels...and continuance of his Lord God's rule.
Other: Despite his characteristically dark clothing, the sword with which Azrael claims souls burns white, especially when near a dying person with a pure heart. If ever corruption manages to take over the human race, his sword will forever turn black. As long as there is one pure heart beating, however, the sword will burn bright with the light of Heaven.

Name: Selena Vladimir
Age: 2480
Gender: Female
Height: 5'10''
Weight: 145 lbs
Race: Demon
Status/Standing: Incarnation of the Sin of Lust
Weapon of choice: Creset Moon Saber
Skills: Seduction: Can seduce her prey and take their soul as that is what keeps her power level high.
Fire: the element she can control and manipulate, she likes to use it for protection as well as weapons.
Blood: another element she likes to control and manipulate to use as protection or weapons.
Bio: Selena has been a demon all her life and bowels of hell is all she knows. She grew up there and knows pretty much everything about it, even the punishments for breaking their tedious rules. This is also the reason she is the demon embodiment of one of the Seven Deadly Sins: the sin of Lust to be exact. Since she came of age and gained her powers by being the demon of lust, she has gotten many servants, slaves and prisoners that she tortures by taking little bits of their soul every day. She is very cruel, yet loyal and respectful to Lucifer and those above her which are not many. All the ones below her follow her every command as they are scared of her and know the limits of her power which makes it all the more scary.
Selena is also ready for the battle with the angels to come. She had been aching to fight and kill some of the white winged, pure angels that think they are so high and mighty compared to the demons and herself. Well she had a few little tricks for them and if the war didn't start soon she would be the instigator and start it herself.
Other: has a pet Raven that comes to her whenever there is a message or something going on behind her back that she does not know about.
Appearance: Demon form: User Image
Normal look: Selena

Selena Vladimir

A soft sigh left Selena as she awoke once more in the deep bowels of hell. Her dark red eyes stared up to the ceiling above herbefore closing as she got out of her plush bed. She ran a hand through her long platinum hair, yawning as she put on her normal outfit. It was flashy and revealing as all her outfits were, she was the Incarnation of Lust after all. And she definetly flaunted that fact. She loved messing with all the lowly demons in hell, it was a way to pass time and so much fun too. She went over to the mirror in her room as she tied up her corset in the front, seeing that her hair didn't need to be fixed as usual. She smirked lightly at that little fact and made her way out of the mansion, streaching as she felt that this day would be good. Or entertaining at least.

She yawned as she made her way up to the fifth circle of hell, watching all the demons already at work with their usual tasks of torturing the new and old occupants of their domain. She flew around some, not finding anything of interest yet and was getting a bit bored. Maybe I should go visit Lucifer...he might have some tasks for me... she thought as she made her way back to the seventh circle of hell and to the big doors that led into their Lord's chambers. She sighed aqnd knocked on the door, hearing a deep rumble from inside before the doors opening. She walked in with her usual swish and kneeled down on one knee.

"Good morning my Lord..." Selena said softly as she had her head bent and eyes closed.

"Why is it that you wake me dear Selena? I did not ask for you or any of your services.." came the harsh voice of Lucifer from in front of her, making her press her lips together.

"I know my Lord. I was wondering if you had any tasks for me to do today. As you already know, the war with the angel's is upon us..." she said softly, hearing movement as Lucifer came out of his bed and stood beside it.

"Yes, yes that is old news Selena...but I do have a task for you. I want you to sneak into Heaven and get information...anything you can and depending on the importance of it you will be rewarded accordingly," Lucifer said to her as she nodded and stood up before bowing to him.

"Yes my Lord. I will do as you ask..." Selena said as she turned and left the chambers, the door's shutting tightly behind her. She sighed softly at the task she had recieved, knowing this would be anything but pleasant.

Azrael pulled his sword gently from the old human's body, laying the weary vessel down. There wasn't a mark on the body from where his sword had passed through. "Rest easy, Martin. You are going to heaven." He murmured quietly. His sword flared in response. That would be Martin's soul, now at peace. That was his job, and had been for thousands of years. Collecting the souls of the dead, the good and bad, and delivering them to either heaven or hell. Of course, there were so many humans now that in recent centuries Azrael had had to take on a few extra angels when the number of souls needing to be released go too high, but usually he could manage.

He slipped his sword back into the black scabbard girded to his waist and glanced around. It was a hospital, he thought. That's what the humans called these places of healing, now. The walls were stark white, nearly as blinding as his sword, and there was an acidic smell to the air. He guessed that was the substance they used to keep the place sterile. Stretching his wings, Azrael lifted himself into the air and allowed his body to lose it's usual tangible outline so he could pass up through the floors of the hospitals and outside. It was a handy trick, as was the standard angel ability to not appear to humans. Well, rather, humans could see them, they did see them, but for the most part they forgot what they had seen immediately. It was a handy knack, but it could be faulty. There had been instances where humans had seen the angels for what they were, and not forgotten. Azrael didn't have this problem now, however.

Once free of the hospital's confining rooms, he stretched his wings wide and let his body become solid again. That particular ability only worked on human buildings, so he could easily get to those whose souls needed to be taken, but he wasn't sure if it was unique to him or not. He rarely spoke to other angels. "And now we go home, Martin." He murmured quietly, gazing up at the wide sky. Elation spread through his chest, and he smiled. Going home always made him feel thus. His wings gave a strong push down and he was airborn once more, winging his way quickly home to release the souls of the privileged.

Selena sighed softly as she went back to her room, demons bowing to her along the ways but she paid them no mind. She quickly grabbed her saber which she strapped to her hip and went outside, jumping onto the roof of her house before launching up into the air. She flew out of hell and onto earth, careful to shield herself from human eyes as she flew up into the sky and made her way towards heaven. She didn't like the place, it felt too pure and innocent for her. Of course she wasn't either of those things so that might be why. As she continued to fly up she faltered as she saw something out of the corner of her eye. She looked and almost froze. s**t an angel... she thought to herself, looking around as she tried to find someway to hide but that was impossible while in mid-flight with no clouds around what-so-ever. She sighed and rubbed at her forehead, knowing a run in with an angel was going to be a big headache. Especially this early in the morning.

Well since hes gonna follow me anyways, might as well try to give him a run for his money, she thought to herself with a light smirk, flapping her wings hard once before picking up speed. She really hoped a fight wouldn't ensue although she could see the weapon strapped to the mans waist and knew he would most likely use it on a demon like herself. They never did take demon visits lightly in Heaven.

There were many upward thermals today, so flying was not difficult. He rarely needed to flap at all, just a powerful downstroke every so often to keep his rising speed up. As he flew, Azrael thought over what was ahead. He would reach the grand gates of Heaven, which really weren't necessary for an Angel like himself to enter, and release the souls. They would either take a shape similar to the body they had left, or possibly manifest themselves as something else. Anything they identified with. Could be an animal, another person, some strange being that seemed half way between the two. Once, he had even seen a man manifest as a lamp. Regardless, they would all go through the entrance into Heaven ceremony and then be given their paradise. Though Azrael had gone through his ritual thousands upon thousands of times before, he never got bored of it. But then, he never became excited, either. He just did his job, and took pleasure knowing he was serving the Almighty.

His attention diverted from his thoughts as his eyes focused on a strange phenomena. There was someone else in the sky as well...now, this was different. He couldn't remember the last time he had risen with someone else. This was a change in the routine. Welcoming something different, Azrael changed his course slightly so he would meet this other angel. When their paths crossed, however, Azrael was somewhat surprised, and alarmed, to recognize that this individual was not, in fact, an angel.

"Are you not some ways from home, demon?" Unlike most angels, Azrael spoke indifferently, without malice. Demons were not of concern to him, they had always dealt fairly regarding souls anyway. Only when they raised arms against his Lord, was he compelled to feel hate and rage. At the moment, he was merely curious. "Seems like an unnecessary risk, flying high up here...there are some who would slay you on sight." In case she decided to attack him, Azrael kept his distance. He needed enough space to draw his sword. He wasn't in the mood to fight, though. He had souls to deliver, and they didn't deserve to have demon blood taint their purity. It would take a long process to cleanse them afterward.

Selena looked to the angel out of the corner of her eye, suspicious as to the indifference in his tone. Most angewls hated demons and went to attack them on sight, attacking first and asking questions later. She shrugged, still flying upward as she looked back upward. "Just merely curious as to your so-called Heaven...can I not be curious and want to quell that curiosity with a simple look?" she asked as she tilted her head, her platinum hair whipping around her as she kept on gliding upward.

"I am just curious angel...no need to draw your sword against me. I am not here to cause any trouble or to hurt anyone. I just want to look as you of all people should know that demons cannot cross the threshold of Heaven, we are too impure," Selena said with a light shrug, her red eyes watching the angel next to her closely. She didn't trust angel's but he seemed to cause no threat, at least for the moment. She wasn't trying to cause a fight, she was just gathering information like her Lord asked of her. Of course no one knew of it except her and Lucifer himself of course. She sighed softly and looked to him, tilting her head lightly.

"And what are you doing out here angel? And can I get a name possibly? I will give you mine. The name's Selena Vladimir, nice to meet one of God's followers," she said with a two finger salute to the angel, seeing she was getting close to Heaven's entrance. She looked around alertly, not wanting to be caught by surprised and get slayed by an angel. Her Lord would not be happy and neither would she. It would be an annoying predicament at the least.

Could he trust her? No, of course not. What a foolish question. Azrael chided himself silently, face showing no outward emotion. He couldn't let his usual complacency with demons cloud his judgement here. While it was perfectly acceptable for him to appear in Hell on a regular basis, it was his job after all, it was not okay, ever for a demon to appear this close to Heaven. Something was up.

He cocked an eyebrow suspiciously at her story. Just up for a peak? Azrael very much doubted that was all she intended. Perhaps what she was was true, that at the moment she wasn't here to cause problems. But there was always a chance that her presence now would later spell trouble for the angels. "What if I don't believe you, Selena?" His voice was cold, having lost it's formerly neutral edge. Her words about loosening his grip on his sword only made him tighten them further. For the first time in many long, long years Azrael felt the first faint stirrings of anger. It was strange, he thought, to feel this after all this time. But then, ever since he could remember, he had always hated liars. "Something tells me your little..."peak"...will cause only problems for Heaven."

"Azrael is my name. You may be familiar with it, as I make regular trips to you homeland. Or perhaps you know me by another name. A title the humans have so melodramatically laid at my feet. I am the Angel of Death." Although Azrael usually viewed this ridiculous name with distaste, he thought it might work for his purposes now. He meant his words as a warning, his eyes narrowing. A warning to make herself scarce. Azrael's hand tightened around his sword threateningly. Though he had revealed his vocation, Azrael was still a soldier of God first and foremost. And she would not forget it. "I would suggest you turn back now, if you don't wish to be impaled. Though your lord and master, " At this reference to Lucifer Azrael curled his lip in mockery and disgust, "will surely be very displeased with your failure in whatever task it is you are here to complete, rest assured that it will pale in comparison to mine."
