Chapter 5 {Alteration}

Alteration is the magic of altering the physical world. It provides many useful effects that can make up for other character weaknesses. It is the temporary enhancement of anything surrounding the physical being's body. With Alteration, the Mage should be able to use "Feather", which is the gradual removal of gravity to allow the Mage to jump farther and higher distances. This is a temporary effect that tends to last about one to two jumps. This greatly decreases your energy, and hence, should be rarely used. "Unlock", a simple common name for the Mage's ability to unlock certain mechanisms (namely on doors), in order to enter successfully without making noise. A Novice will have difficulty unlocking a multi-chambered lock and multi-lock door. The more experienced the Mage is, the more complex the locks he/she can unlock. Water walking and the ability to breathe underwater are another two abilities that is allowed by Alteration. Mages of high level and experience can achieve Water walking/breathing for extended periods of time. Novices can only perform it up to five minutes maximum.
