Chapter 2 {Mysticism}

The category of mysticism includes spells that absorb, reflect, and dispel magic, move objects, sense life, and bind souls. With this, a Mage will be able to sense life, or the presence of others, within a certain area. Spells with effects such as this last an extended period of time, regardless of the caster. The absorption, dispelling, and reflecting of another caster's spells are only provided to those with more experienced, and is not recommended for Novices. When Binding Souls, the Mage is able to capture souls that have been freshly released from a dead body, in order to recharge themselves. This exact spell, binding souls, is forbidden to Mages who wish to retain pure spirit, as they are automatically depriving the soul the right to remain in peace, and therefore, causing the caster to become corrupt and greedy. Mysticism is often debated to be neither a pure-oriented, or corrupt-oriented, category of magic.
