As usual my plans are to greet the sunrise on the 21st to welcome the rebirth of the God. My goal is to actually maintain a vigil of sorts through the night (but I usually have a hard time staying awake all night sweatdrop ).

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

I plan to stay up (on the roof, at that) most of the night to experience the Rebirth, and of course watch the total eclipse.

Merry Yule!

Blessed Yule and Blessed Litha!

This year is special to me. I've written my first Sabbat ritual, though I won't be performing it until the 24th because that's when my sister will be in town. I'm adopted and this will be the first time ever that we will meet.

I too hope to stay up and watch the eclipse. I want to use the energy of the moon that night to dedicate some of my tools that are newer to me.

Ah Yule, the day when Saint Niklaus brought handmade toys to the bereft children of Germany 3nodding Remember: before it was a Christian holiday, it was Pagan. The tree was started in the pagan Germany, when in the dead of winter it was the only plant alive. Mainly it was used to boost morale of the people because, well, it's dark, cold, and most things were either hibernating or dead. BUT! you don't want a history lesson, you want me to say something fun! I'll never pee on a yule-time tree! a yule-time tree is safe from me~

I would have loved to hear a history lesson. I found it interesting.

Blessed Litha and Merry Yule!

As I'm in the minority of the few which are celebrating Litha at this time, it's a bit depressing seeing so many people put up christmas trees and wearing Santa suits in around 30 + degrees celcius. (Just lucky they're in malls)

My plans are to make a wonderful fruit salad, and hopefully dance around in the sunshine, however this is the storm season so I'm not sure what will happen.

Here is a bit of information (from About.com) - the word “solstice” is from the Latin word solstitium, which literally translates to “sun stands still.”
