Noble by birth, death if not Early 1800's, 1837 to be exact was the start of the Victorian era. The time where most thought it was splendor and art, but do we really know happened behind those chipped paintings and twisted sculptures? What of the more unpleasant beings of this time? What of the plagues the wreaked havoc through entire kingdoms? Or the ruthless rulers who acted like plagues themselves? They placed human heads on a stake, decorated the bridges before the town, for a crime as simple as stealing a pear to breath another day. Is this that the beauty the Victorian era? Think twice fool, before entering this tale. You will not be treated as royalty... At least not all of you... Will you survive? Let the story unwind.

Story Well from the intro you should know a lot. However, please do research the subject at least a bit. I'm no expert, though I would appreciate an accurate Role Play. Here's a bit of what's going on. France has invaded Luxembourg,.... It's the German War so France is moving Eastward, invading on the way. Belgium align with France, Prussia with Luxembourg seeing that as the most logical choice.
Now France is a power to be reckoned with, and Eastern Luxembourg has become it's prey. Problem is the rebels are kind of insane in a tactical way, using the terrain to their advantage. The French have sheer numbers and power... I can not give either side truly what praise they deserve.

Setting Eastern Luxembourg, given a map, you'll find France and Switzerland... Which gives France the perfect opportunity to strike. With one thing in mind... Power... Nothing could stop them... Beside the Rebels...

Profiles〖Whisper to me dear, what do they call you?〗 Lady Raine/Amaury Lauranette 〖Your skin is quite smooth! Or is it?〗 18/21 〖It's quite obvious that you're...〗 Female/Male 〖You prefer?〗 Straight, so males... 〖Would we get along?〗 Raine's not your average girl... Obviously... However, it's not just the fact that she dresses up as a male that sets her apart from the rest of the crowd. The girl has always been quite fearless and strong. This sort of helped along in her goal to deceive the soldiers. It was her only place to get away from the marriage! Raine was carefree before that blasted marriage! She was also very bright which made her very sought after. However, the girl never wished to be tied down... Her dream was to roam free. Like most men did. But a woman should never talk like that. 〖What a sad tale!〗 Born into a world of riches, not rags... You think that would make this girl happy not sad. However, Raine didn't wish for the life of stepping on others. She despised the way her family trounces over the feelings of their servants, smacking them around as if they were their own personal play things, and expecting Raine to do the same. The staff loved the girl, because she was so kind-hearted, which was difficult to find amongst the wealthy. Often you could find a maid and Raine conversing and giggling about random topics. That is until her mother came along, then that maid would be sent off to another part of the house, and the girl forbidden to go there.
Eventually, Raine was sent to boarding school for the misbehaved. The girls there were rotten, and treated her poorly. They flaunted their money before Raine's face everyday, calling her terrible names. They even hazed her constantly, because they assumed she had less money; however, the girl was actually much richer than most of them... She just refused to say anything. Raine knew money turned you into monsters.
When the girl finally returned home, she acted as if nothing had changed. They would not break her. Raine even put her own stuff in her room, instead of having the help do it. Her mother and father grew angrier than ever, hadn't she learned anything?!?! The Lauranette blood would not carry their own luggage like dogs! It was then they decided to take drastic measures... A letter... Sealed with the family crest, was sent to an equally powerful family... The Denmark's who had a very attractive son named William. Though he wasn't the most kind soul... In fact He was down right evil. His family had been trying set up an engagement for years, but Raine had always refused his hand... This would teach her to respect her status...
Raine heard of her parents' evil plan, and took off. Problem was... To where? Everywhere the girl went, she was recognized. She scraped the town thinking of a place to escape, living with that ghoul was not an option! Finally the soldiers marched past, each tipped his hat to her in respect.. Making her gag... But giving her a glorious idea!
Raine advance towards the closest barber in town, and demanded that he completely cut all her hair off. He seemed flustered at first, but the gold she flashed calmed his nerves. The girl hated herself for using the one thing in life that she despised most... However, she had to do it again, and offered the man even more gold to seal his lips once she left... Hoping that her family didn't come by, knowing that they had enough gold to break that bind. But also knew that she hadn't enough time to worry herself on such matters.
Raine then went to a tailor. She bought a nice looking, creme colored outfit. The girl then had it fitted, and asked for a wrap. Again, Raine paid the man to keep a tight lip. She dressed in the fitting room, and left the scene after giving the tailor a quick farewell. Then the girl went to sign up for the military. She was a bright soul... So much so she forged a physical in a foreign tongue, so the chances of them contacting the "doctor" are slim to none. Raine actually made it through the sign up, though she had to lie about her age and sex... What does it matter? It's only four years and a gender?
"Amaury" is now "21" and the leader in the military force. She gets picked on all the time for her girlish looks, and her young face. The problem is the damned hair... Rain wears a hat now, because getting to a barber is expensive and time consuming... Also... It's hard to get away from the troops following her around! If they find out she's only 18... That'll be the least of her problems. She doesn't want to invade this poor village either... So perhaps being a girl won't be her only problem? 〖If I toss you a looking glass, what will you see?〗
Me in my feminine form, What you see 〖Who pulls you strings?〗 Kaiya Hytoshi 〖Did I miss anything?〗 She's extremely skilled in fighting with a sword.---------- 〖Whisper to me dear, what do they call you?〗 Maximillion Jäger 〖Your skin is quite smooth! Or is it?〗 twenty nine 〖It's quite obvious that you're...〗 Male 〖You prefer?〗 Women, if only to please my mother. 〖Would we get along?〗 Maximillion was raised like any member of the artesian class. Some might say he’s a shining example of a what an elder sibling should be; hard working, honest, respects his elders…all that it would entail. Of course, he was always a bit quiet and learned how to take care of himself, even if it meant some skills society might consider to be a woman’s job. Max discovered he had an odd fondness for tinkering, ever since he was allowed access to his father’s workshop. 〖What a sad tale!〗 Max had a rather okay life as a boy. Some might say rather, carefree considering his Father was situated within the growing artesian class. This status allowed him to experience a bit of wealth, up until he got tired of being an only child. That would become something of a mistake, one he wouldn’t realize until later, but that’s what growing up is for, isn’t it.
He would get his wish when he was fourteen, though he didn’t know at the time, that his sisters would consume his mother’s attention. You see, Maxi’s father was always a little cold towards his son; he accepted nothing but the best from his son’s studies. While his intentions were good, he was a little thick when it came to being caring. This was the main reason why he spent so much of his free time with his mother. He learned quite a bit of the skills, many would call, feminine but that didn’t bother him. Why would it when he was the smartest of his friends.
Despite the amount of time Maximillion spent with his mother, learning skills that would later make him self-sufficient, his Father started to shift his studies from academia to the family’s craft. You see, Max was born into a family of clock makers… and it was tradition for the boys to learn the ‘family’ trade from their Father’s. This was something the elder Jäger was looking forward too, since it would finally allow some father-son time with little Maxi. Unfortunately, right when Max reached the normal age, his sisters were born and Maximillion’s father had to put all of his focus into his work; often times working until he collapsed.
Max would miss out on his ‘supposed’ family tradition, until one day his Father decided to send him off to apprentice with his uncle in Luxembourg’s Echternach . This would be his home away from home, and also where he became a Swiss clockmaker. 〖If I toss you a looking glass, what will you see?〗 Just a clock maker 〖Who pulls you strings?〗 Azekal Noxcis 〖Did I miss anything?〗 His uncle recently past away, and left the shop in Maxi’s ownership. He also supplements his income by being a trap maker.---------- 〖Whisper to me dear, what do they call you?〗 Sabine Fournier 〖Your skin is quite smooth! Or is it?〗 22 〖It's quite obvious that you're...〗 Female 〖You prefer?〗 Males 〖Would we get along?〗 Sabine is fairly soft-spoken when not on stage. Her trust isn't earned easily by members of the opposite sex, and it's clear she often thinks the worst of men. She has a distinct love for nature, and because of her nomadic lifestyle, she sometimes forgets about the very obvious differences of the classes. For the most part she is usually fascinated and thrilled by the natural world. She doesn't think too much about the war, but now, with the camp settled outside of Luxembourg, it's impossible to ignore it. 〖What a sad tale!〗 Although Sabine's mother had been raised by a fairly wealthy family, her money was quickly squandered away by a man that had charmed her into marriage- much to the disappointment of her family. When the man decided the woman was no longer worth his time and effort, he left without a word- leaving the expectant mother in a state of despair. Several times the woman tried to take her life- but each time failed when a bit of luck got in her way. Eventually, little Sabine was born. As beautiful a little girl as she was, it quickly became clear that her mother despised her. She experienced a cold and brief childhood until the age of fourteen. Even as young as she was, the girl had developed a beauty that far surpassed her mother's. Seeing the attention her daughter began to attract from the men in her town, the mother became furious. She quickly took Sabine from the small town, and the two traveled for days before finally, they came upon a group of poor performers. As in the departure of her unknown father, her mother left without a word. After days, and weeks, and months spent with the performers, it became clear her mother would not return. As lost and confused as the girl was, the troupe's leader took the opportunity to turn her into a performer. It might have been considered an act of kindness, had he not had his own goals in mind. The man was unkind in his methods of training the girl- harsh words quickly turned into harsh blows. Over the years, the girl attempted to avoid punishment by leaving the camp, but because there was no where else for her to go, she would very often return that night to face the man's fury. 〖If I toss you a looking glass, what will you see?〗 A flower. 〖Who pulls you strings?〗 Beau Cramoisi 〖Did I miss anything?〗 Very often has bruises on various parts of her body. She usually manages to cover these with powder. Despite the worn appearance of her eccentric performer's clothing, she still manages to radiate an exquisite beauty, which has earned her the nickname 'fleur de étoile' by the other performers in the small camp.---------- 〖Whisper to me dear, what do they call you?〗 William Denmark 〖Your skin is quite smooth! Or is it?〗 23 〖It's quite obvious that you're...〗 Male 〖You prefer?〗 Females 〖Would we get along?〗 Remember the boy who laughed when you fell and skidded your knee? The boy who held the cat by it's tail just to hear it scream? Oh, you know- the one who made you cry, just because he could? William was that boy. And although he's certainly not a boy anymore, kindness never seemed to work it's way into his heart. Sure, he doesn't laugh at your misfortune, or torture the family pets anymore- but what was once childish cruelty has turned into something altogether more sinister. The intent hidden behind the man's smile is enough to make a chill run down your spine. 〖What a sad tale!〗 William was raised in wealth along with his two elder brothers, Georges, and Philip. While the eldest of the brothers, Philip, showed a great amount of promise in inheriting the family's assets and business, he soon decided to join the clergy- much to the disappointment of the boys' father. His second brother, Georges, was an equally shrewd businessman, but his poor health made it clear the responsibilities of the family would rest on William's shoulders. The boy was hardly overwhelmed by these circumstances. In fact, he was more than happy to inherit the family's wealth. After all, what in this world was more powerful than money? Reputation, of course. For many years, William's parents had their eye on the Laurenette family's daughter, who they determined the boy would marry- for the good of the family, of course. Often William was sent to play with the girl when they were young- although his idea of playing was rarely as innocent as it seemed. Soon, however, the Laurenette's daughter was sent off to a boarding school. Hardly a tragedy. For William, the years went by at a leisurely pace as he learned more and more about managing the family business. His father grew old, but stayed healthy, and William- William grew impatient. The household was horrified to find the elder Denmark slumped over the desk of his study- a glass of brandy spilled on the floor. The doctor determined that the man had died of a heart attack, and William got away with the murder. Soon after, he inherited the family's business, just as a letter arrived confirming William's engagement to Raine Laurenette. Everything was working in the young man's favor- until, of course, Lady Raine decided to run. 〖If I toss you a looking glass, what will you see?〗 William 〖Who pulls your strings?〗 Beau Cramoisi 〖Did I miss anything?〗 •Usually carries with him a well-crafted flintlock pistol, of which he is excellently skilled in using. He has on his person a relatively small dagger, as well, though he very rarely has need of it. Or so he says. •Rumors have circulated about his political enemies either disappearing or becoming involved in horrible scandals. ---------- 〖Whisper to me dear, what do they call you?〗 Christoph Landa 〖Your skin is quite smooth! Or is it?〗 thirty seven 〖It's quite obvious that you're...〗 Male 〖You prefer?〗 Women 〖Would we get along?〗 Christoph had always been a little eccentric, perhaps that is why he took to music so easily. Despite the relatively ‘noble’ upbringing he had, Christoph adjusted rather well to more menial tasks when he was sent to an academy to learn what his father deemed his only other ‘ feasible career’ choice. Of course, he’s also a great big softy despite his unusually tall height and rather gruff voice, is known to help around Echternach despite his views towards the current faith. 〖What a sad tale!〗 Most kids would kill to be raised by a noble family, alas that was the last thing Christoph desired. Born into a family that included an English duchess and a German duke, Christoph was rather well taken care of during his childhood. Unfortunately, this also mean that being groom to inherit his father’s position while he was still little…and that would not do! He was quite the little tyrant when he was young, and about the only thing that would calm him down was one of the maiden’s songs. Of course, when he expressed an interest in music his noble father, was more than willing to ship him off to an academy, an attempt to for Christoph to realize that he’d be spending the majority of his life around nobles.
Curiously, Christoph was too wrapped up in learning piano, the violin, and other forms of music to truly grasp why his father had sent him. Nonetheless, whenever his parents came to a recital, they were impressed by his talent. Not so much by the fact that his friends were below him in rank. However, he was utterly oblivious to the fact and continued to increase his talents while also learning about trade from some of the books they stocked.
Oddly, enough his parents weren’t there for his eventual graduation, or several of his final recitals…and this puzzled him. When did they become preoccupied, and what caused it? He was about to find out as he returned home, at the age of twenty, and discovered that he had a brother at the age of five. Who also happened to be a tremendous p***k at such a young age! Apparently, his brother learned what entitlement at quite the young age of three, and well the fact that his parents discovered several of his journals didn’t help the cause either.
Well, of course it wouldn’t since most of the journals were filled with romance stories…that were outside of accepted social norm. Needless to say, he was soon sent into in unofficial exile and would be surprised by his Family’s generosity. They had apparently gotten him a house in Echternach and had given him quite the large amount of money for his graduation. He figured he would’ve gotten some land, if the exiling didn’t happen, but he was happy to live out the rest of his days in obscurity within Luxembourg. 〖If I toss you a looking glass, what will you see?〗 A man filled with eccentricities. 〖Who pulls you strings?〗 Azekal Noxcis 〖Did I miss anything?〗 A bit of an eccentric, his unusualness is offset by the fact that he is a musician of some renown…and perhaps that he doesn’t parade around his title and status since he appreciates his family’s last gift to him. ---------- 〖Whisper to me dear, what do they call you?〗 Benoit Rivette 〖Your skin is quite smooth! Or is it?〗 22 〖It's quite obvious that you're...〗 Male 〖You prefer?〗 Women 〖Would we get along?〗 Though many of Benoit's close friends have chosen to call him kind, that certainly doesn't make him innocent. He's dirtied his hands more than once, and although he isn't proud of that fact, he knows better than to regret it. The acrobat has a sharp intuition that has turned quite a few nasty situations in his favor, and despite how he might be feeling, he's usually able to comfort those around him. For the most part he's just a mediocre performer with a decent sense of humor. 〖What a sad tale!〗 Benoit had always been part of a traveling performer's troupe- as long as he could remember. While he had no couple to call his parents among the members of the colorful group, the troupe itself was family enough. The closest thing he had to a mother was the elderly fortune teller who traveled with the group. While he had never believed she could see the future, her kindness was enough for him to look up to her. Unfortunately, shortly after the boy turned fourteen, the old fortune teller passed abruptly, leaving the boy to continue his training as one of the troupe's acrobats without the help of her cryptic advice.
It wasn't long after this that a girl arrived in the camp, brought by a cold-looking woman who left her to stay with the performers. The girl seemed confused and heartbroken, and Benoit tried his best to lift her spirits with jokes and stories, and although the process was slow, he and Sabine eventually became good friends. As they grew together, they developed a friendship not unlike that of a close brother and sister, and as protective as the boy was of her, he could do little when the troupe leader began to physically hurt her. He did what he could to comfort Sabine when she was hurt, and to calm her when she was wild with anger or frustration.
When Benoit became aware of Sabine's brief escapades- attempts to run from the camp without a word -he became hurt. He tried his best to continue caring for the girl, but as her desire to escape grew more and more, all he could do was watch it happen and hope she would come back again, or ask that he come with her. 〖If I toss you a looking glass, what will you see?〗 The acrobat. 〖Who pulls you strings?〗 Beau Cramoisi 〖Did I miss anything?〗 Seems to be fairly well educated, despite his upbringing.---------- 〖Whisper to me dear, what do they call you?〗 Adalie Andarch 〖Your skin is quite smooth! Or is it?〗 86 〖It's quite obvious that you're...〗 Female 〖You prefer?〗 Bisexual 〖Would we get along?〗 Adalie is... To put it simply, a malicious b***h. She'll not think twice before slapping you silly, or slicing your throat open. Just don't cross the woman, and you'll do just fine!... Hopefully. Adalie seems to have a frozen heart, maybe it's because she's a matron at a brothel? 〖What a sad tale!〗 As a girl Adalie was kind, and beautiful. In fact every boy looked to her with an eye of lust. She took this as a compliment. Now the girl grew up dirt poor, her family had to get out their problems... Some how. Why not use their daughter's beauty to their advantage?! Adalie was sold to a brothel for a decent mark. This day, the girl turn vicious, pinning the other girl to walls to take their earnings and food. Most would cower at the might of Adalie. Some would try to fight back, and most would lose.
The men of the brothel were just as cruel. The girl found herself infatuated with the cruelest of them, however, it would never work out. They never returned the feeling, or would seriously harm her. Adalie stopped believing love, or anything associated with the atrocious emotion. which is one of the reasons her rank within the house quickly lifted. Soon she was head-matron, collecting the money, and soon she became greedier and more heinous than ever... If that were possible.
With years, Adalie did as we all do, and grew older... Much older. It was miracle that someone in this line of business could get so wrinkly, without illness! Nope, Adalie was as sharp-tongued, and healthy as ever! Now she looks the streets for more maidens. The prune lives next to Christophe, however, never took a liking to him... He was too sweet... Though the man did bring in a fine amount of women! Oh yes! So the crooked fool could always count on him to wipe the drool when it came to fantasizing over food. For once performer is turned away, the brothel came to play! 〖If I toss you a looking glass, what will you see?〗 Adalie (There was nothing else I could find.) 〖Who pulls you strings?〗 Kaiya Hytoshi 〖Did I miss anything?〗 Adalie is missing half of her teeth, the rest are rotten, giving off a putrid stench. She's also blind in her left eye. ---------- 〖Whisper to me dear, what do they call you?〗 Eleanor "Eli" Ayers 〖Your skin is quite smooth! Or is it?〗 28 〖It's quite obvious that you're...〗 Female 〖You prefer?〗 There is beauty in every physique. 〖Would we get along?〗 Eleanor is a seductive woman, using not only her body but her rich and eloquent voice to get from others what she might be unable to acquire herself. She is incredibly wise when it comes to matters involving human emotion, and although her advances usually have an ulterior motive, she only rarely has malicious intentions. Eli believes complicated situations can be easily avoided when reason and rationale are brought into play, but she is certainly no stranger to putting herself in harm's way. Her lack of belief in a distinction between good and evil sometimes puts her at odds with pious men and women, and it is because of this her name is vaguely known by various members of the church in Luxembourg. 〖What a sad tale!〗 Eleanor was born into a fairly successful merchant family originating in England. The rise of Industrialization in Britain meant countless opportunities for the girl's father to invest in new enterprises, and although they weren't incredibly rich, the family was living a life of comfort. With her father often gone and her mother usually busied with Eli's younger sisters, however, Eleanor often found herself immersed in fantasies of adventure and danger. She would often venture out into the woods surrounding their house with her father's gun in hand, pretending she was a bandit chasing after a noble's fortune, or a knight rescuing a princess in peril. While her parents thought her enthusiasm for these games was humorous at first, their attitude quickly changed as the girl started to become a woman.
It was impossible to deny the girl's beauty, and even she would take advantage of it- using a slowly developing charm and wit to obtain various favors from the house staff. A few whispered words into a kitchen boy's ear would make him putty in her hands. An affectionate kiss on a maid's cheek would leave her stumbling for words. Quickly, the girl realized that her charisma would deny her very little. Despite her parent's protests, she would sneak out into the woods to continue her wild games, while the staff would keep the girl's mother distracted or busy. While these short escapades continued to fuel the girl's desire for adventure, it did little to satisfy it. It quickly became clear to her that a life married to the first wealthy man who came along was a life that would become unbearable for her.
With help from the staff she managed to leave the estate at the age of 17, and with a large sum of money "borrowed" from her parents, she decided to travel to foreign countries as a means of sating her thirst for adventure. This brought her to various places around the world, including the Americas and India, and even for a brief time in Egypt. Eventually, she returned to Europe, although she stayed on the continent, feeling little desire to return home. While her love for exploration and adventure had never diminished, the woman had certainly matured in many ways. She had gone from being the pretty girl who made kitchen boys blush, to a seductive temptress made both wise by years of travel, and unhindered by European values because of her immersion in other cultures.
Her travels have finally brought her to Luxembourg- a town lying at the heart of the conflict between France and Germany. It was to her a perfect place- what was more exciting than war, after all? 〖If I toss you a looking glass, what will you see?〗 A temptress. 〖Who pulls you strings?〗 Beau Cramoisi 〖Did I miss anything?〗 Eli is pantheistic, and has an obvious dislike for the church and their attempts to "save" the wicked. She understands some German, but knows very little French.
