 And there you have it. Well, they've denied it for weeks, but today Nintendo posted the first information regarding the redesigned Nintendo DS on their Japanese website. The redesigned unit, known as the Nintendo DS Lite, will be available in Japan on March 2nd for a recommended retail price of 16800 yen ($AU192). The Nintendo DS Lite is slightly smaller and lighter than the original Nintendo DS. The Lite's dimensions are 133 x 73.9 x 21.55mm (the original machine is 148 x 85 x 28mm), while the weight is 218g (as opposed to 275g). The differentiating feature between the two variations of the DS is that the Lite features four brightness modes, much like the PSP. I had heard they also tweaked the interface a bit. Man, I hope they've fixed it so that you don't have to turn off the system to get out of the options menu. That's just beyond irritating.

InfinityX damn it, i recently bought an Graphite Black DS sweatdrop ... i wonder what colors will be available for this one? ehhhhhhhh........?????i thought it was platnium, hot rod red, teal, pearl and thats all????????Graphite black....hmmm...sounds interesting.....

Nintendo will be releasing it here sometime after spring, but I'm still getting it. It just looks so awesome. I mean, it's like the GB Micro; with better overall features than the original.

There's a black one too. Limited Edition, like the GC, GBA and the GBASP. VERY rare. But now there are tons of black GBASPs. At least... where I live.

There's really no point in buying an NDS Lite. They're just like the SPs. They play the same games as the old one. Why buy one? I suppose if you have money to get one, okay. If you already have a DS... there's really no point.
