======♣♣♣ Upon first meeting him, people have always said that he's sarcastic and has a dry sense of humor. He can be a little standoffish if the other person gives him reason to be, and will often leave people feeling a little intimidated by his tough guy behavior, and almost always leave them thinking that he's just a punk with no real ambition for anything greater than what he is now. For those that manage to get past that, however, they often paint a picture with a couple more colors added in. Traits like "loyal" and "caring to/protective of those close to him" are then said about him. They see that David isn't just some punk defying authority...okay, maybe that's PART of it. But he's doing what he does because he just wants to be free. David CAN be kind to people, especially if they're little kids or a lover/bed buddy. Get on his bad side, however, and depending on how much you're on that bad side, you'll either want to work to get off of it, or you'll wish you'd never been born/start making plans to move. ♣

======♠♠♠ Like most people in his situation, David grew up in a broken household--his dad was there only sporadically, and his mom was an on-again/off-again alcoholic who spent the days working as a cashier at the supermarket and occasional nights with men for money. With neither of his parents really supervising him, this gave David lots of spare time to just do as he pleased, which often meant that he would be out in the streets, getting in trouble. This didn't mean, however, that David was a bad kid who didn't like school; in fact, David did quite well in school, despite his moaning, groaning, and huffing about it. It was art classes at school, though, that gave David his first real love (aside from pepperoni pizza)--drawing. David had a natural talent for it, and was soon drawing on whatever paper or surface was available and wouldn't get him into too much trouble. By the age of ten, though, David had another love in his life that was just a step ahead of his art--a sixteen year old named Matthew. The two often saw each other when they were down at the gas station getting snacks, but it wasn't until David turned ten that Matthew started paying attention to him instead of just looking at him.
During the time he was together with Matthew, David started hanging out on the streets more and more often. He grew up pretty quickly--learned how be an efficient thief, lost his virginity at age 12, and was going down the path to becoming a complete street punk. It was in the year he stopped being a virgin that his mother gave birth to his half-sisters, twins Gerry and Ginny. Looking at the innocent faces of those baby girls, David swore that he'd make something of himself, and give his sisters the life he never had. With that promise, David broke it off with Matthew (who he found out was just with him for sex, anyway) and started doing his homework and going to class more often. With some friends from school, David still hung out in the streets and stole things, but the things he took were more like small bags of chips, and they didn't get into as much trouble as he would have if he had stayed with Matthew. David managed to land a job as a tattoo artist with his art skills, and attended community college for one year after graduating high school; unfortunately, he didn't have enough money to both support him and his sisters AND go to college, so now David is just working to take care of the twins, and planning on going back to college one day...but he still breaks the rules, never doubt that. ♠

======♚♚♚ Aside from the dragon tattoo on his arm, David got both the fore and the aft wings of the ikran from "Avatar" on the entirety of his back, symbolizing freedom...and he thought it was more original than the usual bird or butterfly wings. ♛
