Every year brings you pain
As you remember the past
And your loved ones who have passed

This season is so hard

That it’s about a baby’s birth

The King and Savior of the world.

Have we forgotten to put our trust in Him?
We know this holiday is all about Him
We even remember to say happy birthday Jesus
But we’ve forgotten the reason He came
To heal us of our pain
Set us free from our bondage
He came as a baby
So He could say I understand.

It’s not only remembering
But trusting in Him day after day
Refusing the lies
Choosing not to compromise
For He is the reason we sing.

The reason we have breath
The reason our heart beats still
And with every breath of pain
Know that’s why He came
And the pain shows that you’re still alive
And we have a heart to save.
