Norway couldn't believe it. He had actually signed up for this ridiculous hiking trip. Why? Because he, obviously, had nothing better to do. So, why not not waste a week or two by "becoming one with nature", as some people called it. Just the sound of that made him frown in disapproval. Maybe he shouldn't have signed up in the first place. Then again, there was also the possibility of running into a stray mythical being with whom he could converse with. Yeah, people would look at him funny, but Norway didn't give a care what anyone thought about him. If someone thought he was insane, he thought the same back about the person ten times over. in Norge's mind, everyone was an idiot. Excluding his dear brother, Iceland, of course. He was one of the very few who actually contained some common sense within his mind. Norway assumed he had learned that from none other than himself since he was literally the person who had taught Iceland everything he knew. There was also Denmark who played an impact on the younger nations life, but everyone knew he was too much of an idiot to actually teach someone common sense... The Norwegian slowly snapped out of his thoughts when he recalled where he was standing. Apparently, he was the first to arrive at the front of the trail...a bit too early, actually. In fact, he showed up a whole twenty minutes before everyone was due to arrive. 'Shrugging slightly, he didn't really show an interest in this small thought. If no one showed up, he would just go on ahead all by himself. It didn't matter anyway. He knew he would come out alive. No help needed. Norge quickly checked his watch and looked around. It was nearly time for everyone to begin arriving. 'I wonder where everyone is...?' He thought, shrugging to his mental question. Some countries should have at least come by now. But, there were no people in sight. "They're probably running late..." Norway mumbled quietly to himself. His face showed no sign of emotion, not even in a situation such as this one. He just didn't really care.

((COOKIEZ! *glomps*))
France knew he was in for it. His boss always forced him to do things like this. Why? Because he says that France needs to have better relations with the other countries. 'Psh! I'm fine as it is. I don't need new friends...' He thinks. When he arrives at the meeting place he sees Norway. He gets out of the car and grabs his stuff. Then the car is driven away by a guard. France had a backpack full of everything his boss said was essensial for hiking. France rolled his eyes at the thought. He walks over to Norway. "Bonjour. Is anyone else here yet?" He asks the Norse country.

Norway heard the engine of a car and then the loud shut of a door. Turning to see who it was, his deep blue eyes met those of none other than France. "Hallo, France," he greeted. Shaking his head slightly to the other nation's question, he responded, "No. There is no one else besides myself...yet." Well, maybe, it was a "yet" situation. Either that or the countries who signed up were too chicken to show up or something like that. He frowned slightly at the thought. Idiots need to learn how to go along with something they've agreed to.' He thought simply. Even deep in thought, Norway's expression still remained the same. Cold. Emotionless. And Calm. That's how his expression always stayed no matter the circumstances. But, of course, there were exceptions to this. Like the time when Denmark ripped his pink bunny, Mr. Bun. Oh, how the fiery anger lit up his eyes. Denmark never touched his precious stuffed animal ever again after that incident. | -is glomped- JAY-CHAN!! 8DD |

(( biggrin OMG, Denmark ripping apart his bunny!!! NOOO!!! lol. makes me miss Glowstick...))
"That's a shame." France says. He looks around. Then back to Norway. It gave France an erie feeling the way that Norway's expression never changed. He didn't deal with Norway as often as other countries like let's say, England. "So why are you here?" He says in an attempt to start a conversation.

Norway nodded slightly to France's first statement, agreeing with him about the sad fact of no one appearing yet. Once the other nation had asked his question, Norway only shrugged and responded, "I was bored and had nothing better to do." Frowning slightly, he second-guessed himself, wondering if he should have come in the first place. It was likely that they were going to be the only two who were brave enough to go on the hiking trip. ...Great. "And you're here also, because...?" He asked with a slightly curious glance in his direction. It was completely unlike Francis to just randomly decide to join the hiking trip; there had to be someone making him go like his boss or something. Yeah, that was probably right. | Yeah, I miss her too. =( WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME, DENMARK!? WHY!? |

"My boss made me come. He always makes me come to these kinds of things." France says with a frown. "I never did get why he's not satified with what I do. My hobbies are enough for me but he disagrees." France sighs and puts his head in his hands. "So what did you bring?" He says.

Norway carefully slipped his bag off of his back and quickly unzipped it. "I brought everything on the list and a couple of things extra. See?" He tilted the bag so Francis could peer inside and see the exact contents Norway had described only seconds before. Once Norge assumed Francis had gotten a good enough look, he zipped his bag up and and slung it on his back yet again. He didn't want the other nation peering too far into the backpack, in fear of him finding his little, pink bunny who was stitched back together by the careful hands of Norway, himself. Francis didn't need to know about him. In fact, no one should ever know. Mr. Bun was one of Norway's secrets in which he wanted to stay secret no matter what. | Curious, but why are people afraid of my roleplays? Do I make sucky ones or what? xD I guess I'm just used to original roleplays as of now. |

((I wasn't sure where to 'sign up' but I hope it would be all right if I jumped in this one. Let me know if I am intruding. And BTW Cookie, is it all right to call you cookie, anyway cookie, I for one see a considerable amount of potential in this RP. Don't sell yourself short. You just gotta get the ball rolling! Oh and I apologize for my rather dull and unimpressive looking posts. I'm such an old school RPer. I haven't figured out how to dress the darn things up. crying I usually stay away from pretty posts because I'm too embarrassed with my primitive looking ones. Most RPs these days really like dazzling looking posts. So I've missed out on a lot of them even though I explode with much interest to join.))The two would carry what could be considered rather idle banter, but are interrupted when there is a loud snap in the woods a few yards ahead of them. By sound of foot falls and rustling of underbrush it was clear something was making it's way down the trail. A bear? Perhaps a wild cougar? The sounds would grow louder, whatever it was not caring in the least bit if it is heard. As it draws near, it's presence is seen by the rustling of bushes, it's only around what could be considered a corner which consisted of a thick grouping of trees. The suspense would die rather anticlimactically as a very familiar pair of thick eye brows are seen, coupled with bright, exotic, emerald eyes. Australia appears in what could be considered stereotypical outing gear. Comfy shirt beneath a dark green vest and Kaki shorts. Of course his trademark slouch hat was perched atop his head. On his back is a big back pack which seems to be from his days in the ANZAC military. In his hand is one long hiking stick and hanging off his thick utility belt is a machete. Again, looking like it has been well used in it's day, and nothing as innocent as chopping wood. He pauses as if shocked and looks at both from a distance with those wide green eyes. Finally a wide smile breaks upon those rugged features and he raises a gloved hand to greet them. "How ya going mates?" He says brightly which of course was his way of saying: How are you guys? "I didn't think anyone would be early. You both must be quite eager to do this. I gotta say, I'm pretty shocked, if I had to guess you both would be the last. Guess that goes to show you can never judge a book by it's cover right?" Australia spoke as if both had answered him. It was easy to see he was one of those who could easily carry a conversation on with himself to fill the silence if need be. He was also rather honest to a point. Australia didn't hide the fact that he was pretty impressed to see one of the most reclusive nordics present. Australia strolled right up to them and clapped one on the shoulder in a kind greeting and nodded to the other. "You two the only ones here?" He asked before looking around them. "I suppose that's a good thing." Australia naturally carried on. "Though it would be quite an interesting trip if England and Uncle Scotland came with you both. Or even King Denny. Then again there isn't really anyone who doesn't annoy the crap out of England. Am I right or what?" Australia nudges with an elbow France playfully.

Norway's eyes darted in the direction from which he heard the surprisingly loud sound of a twig snap, followed by several footsteps crushing the earth beneath them. Tensing slightly, the Norwegian couldn't help but stare at that area with great alarm until the being emerged from the from the trees. Norway relaxed his muscles once he realized who had caused such a commotion...Australia. Even a few yards away, he could still recognize the other nation by thick eyebrows and eyes as green as emeralds. He nodded towards the nation in greeting, but, other than that, showed no emotion. That was until the Australian had assumed he to be last. ...What? ...Come again? A slight scowl crossed Norge's face for a mere moment before it reverted back to its normal, emotionless features. 'If anyone is late all the time, it's always Denmark. He's the one who makes me late to everything...' He thought, bitterly. Norway's mood lightened up a bit when he heard the Aussie speak of Denmark not coming to the hiking trip--well, hopefully not. He nodded slightly in agreement with Australia's statements. "I suppose you are correct." He said quite blandly. Norway couldn't help but agree with the second statement as well. It was fairly easy to annoy England. Even the Nordic had encountered a problem with the older nation once before. It was a petty fight over mythical creatures, nonetheless. Apparently, Norway's troll had almost killed an innocent fairy...on accident, of course. England immediately freaked out and blamed Norway for the almost demise of the poor, flying creature. That's when Norge had snapped, then completely scared the living heck out of England. And to this day, the Brit is still afraid of him. | ...Wait...people have to sign up now? I thought that the roleplays in the guild were just "jump in and join" like they used to be. Hmm...Guess they changed while I was gone. Well, practically all of my roleplays are just ones where people can randomly jump in if they'd like. xD And, yes, you can call me Cookie. D'aww.~ Thank you. >w< And you don't have to apologize for the way your posts look. I, actually, don't mind if people don't decorate at all. I just like the fact that they roleplay is all. :3 The main reason why I make my posts like this is because I find it fun to do so. Though, it does take a lot of work sometimes... And, if you want, I can help you out.~ I have a couple of tips, codings, and sites that I use to make my posts like this. |

((I don't mean to impose cookie, but a lesson on the basic of 'how to get your post to not look so darn ugly and plain' would be great. It would be nice to be 'hip' like everyone else. I need help like a school boy in desperate need of enlightening. redface ))
At this close a range Australia could really see why more than a few countries kept their distance from Norway. He was like a placid lake. Very still, almost emotionless yet you knew there was more to him just beneath.
...Like a lake monster.
It wasn't hard to believe that this was one of the feared vikings of the old world. And this one in particular who had plundered and raided England's and Scotland's country side. The old kingdom never spoke a word of it but Australia knew better. The English could hold a grudge and England probably never forgave either nordic even though England really let Norway have it at the battle of Stamford Bridge. (He believed Norway took over Uncle Scotland and Denmark took England). But still the fear a young country must have felt having berzerking devils loot and plunder his country side constantly. That kind of fear never goes away. England was probably just as good as Norway at hiding it. The two apparently have had good relations after WWII (funny how England kept crossing paths with those Nordics). When Germany invaded Norway, England was the one to help him and his people escape and gave him a temporary haven in the heart of London.
He might have been looking into it pretty deeply, but aside from what he's heard through his anglo bros, he's never really known that much about the scandinavian countries.
But that's what this trip was for right? Strength international ties, get to know each other better and form a more perfect world and all that happy rot. Or maybe he was just being optimistic?
Before his thoughts were allowed to wander, Australia merely shrugged in neither an affirmative nor a negative to Norway's passive comment. He was only making a statement, and though framed as a question, it was still retorical. Australia grew up with England so he knew how that one could be all too well. Australia had gotten the same response from England and America before too. 'How great is the weather?!' He had exclaimed (clearly standing right there and seeing it for himself) and both had answered him.
England always scolded him that he always sounded like he was asking a question. Even normal statements seemed to have an odd curve at the end.
Australia never noticed before. He must sound weird to Norway. Despite being a scandinavian country, he'd heard they had a pretty firm grasp on the english language (almost better than him, sad or what?!).
"...Either way, I'm sure this trip, whether you wanted to come or not, will be benefical in some way. I'm looking forward to it." Australia nudged Norway with an elbow accompanied by a knowing wink. C'mon a reclusive Nordic WANTING to hiking with other countries? He didn't know Norway but even that seemed out of place to Australia.
Even though he'd done this kind of thing since before he was a nation, the thought that there would be interesting company like Norway made it far more exciting to the Aussie than it really should have.

((Man if I knew how to dress my post, they would be soooo pretty. lol. All I have right now is the color. @Cookiez: it's not a new thing. N.A.T.A is a new member. lol. @NATA: you don't have to sign-up to join most roleplays. Most of the time you can walk right in.))France jumps back in shock as the Aussie emerges from the bush. "I'm sure I don't know anyone who doesn't annoy Angleterre. Especially not moi." France says the last part while pointing at himself. "So, I wonder who else IS coming." He says. He knew that if he had to spend the day with the seemingly emotionless Nordic and the exuberant Aussie, his self-control would be put to a great test. He knew Australia was good with outdoor things so he could at least put his mind at rest in that area. He just hoped that others would show up. ((Edit: I looked at your post Cookiez. "...I don't know who else was forced to come, but they had better arrive soon, it's not wise to go traversing around the forests at night. A lot of nocturnal hunters n' all." The Aussie says off handedly as he looks into sky over head. They've still got a few more hours of day light, provided they get moving soon. "Not to worry though, I had myself a little walkabout before you arrived." He had to keep himself busy after all and he wasn't one to stay in one place for long. "A few miles down the trail is a nice clearing. It's next to a river too. Lots of cover under trees in case it rains. We can leave a message here informing everyone else what we're doing and wait for them there. At least if there's any that arrive late, we already have a base camp set up and we can break camp next morning." He looks to his two companions smiling widely. "Of course if anyone has any other ideas feel free to speak up. I ain't the leader here or anything."

Norway shrugged to Australia's suggestion. It made sense to do that just in case no one else decided to show up. Either way, it didn't really matter to him whether or not they waited long enough for the others to catch up. "It doesn't really matter to me what we do. Just as long as we make at least some progress before the sun goes down." He shrugged again to prove his point. It was true, the Norwegian didn't give a care what they did. Just so long as they made at least some progress through the trail while the sun's rays were still illuminating the forest. Other than that, nothing seemed to be of importance to him at the moment. | LATE REPLY IS LATE.
@NATA - I don't mind helping you out at all. :3 Oh and I'll send you the tips and whatnot over Private Message.~
@Jay - Ah...Makes sense. xD I remember I was the same way when I first came here. I was just so used to joining roleplays, that it was kinda strange to randomly jump in. But, you get used to it. ;P So you know how to make your posts pretty? Coolio! All it takes is a lot of coding and creativity. If you'd like, I could give you some tips too. :3 |

Who knows how long the three idled about? But eventually Australia had paced to the point he could have worn a new path in the ground before finally clearing his throat to grab his companion's attention.
"Well if I may be the first to suggest so, how about we move this party? I fear any longer and it'll be too late to reach that clearing. I came here to hike some trails, not to stand here and look at it. So if it's all the same to you blokes, I think we should get a move on. Let's just leave a note behind so the others know where we've gone."
THe Aussie waves his two companions forward as he would lead the way. It wasn't far but it certainly would take some time to get there and the evening was setting fast.
