This heartache.
So well over-due.
That was proudly held as something labeled cruel.
A word used to describe a form of sorrow so strong.
Yet it was expected to eat through it's host all along.
And when the pain of it finally breaks through the numbness of denial.
The stone stair set for life by this trial.
Will look through the bitter years of it's captor's lifetime.
And when asked for a cause they shall answer:
"For my unthought crime."
Because selfishness is something one takes for granted.
Still the outcome of this abuse is something the selfish one never wanted.
Yet we all have to be given what has been wrought by our greed.
And learn that from then on to plant a much less "me-oriented" seed.
