Welcome to Alley DarkNot many people expect to see much when they look down an alley while the sun is up. But what about at night, when darkness abounds? When three friends challenge the danger of taking a short cut after dark, they wind up in a strange place called Alley Dark. Alley Dark is a long wide street, almost like a one-road city. At the far end, a huge market goes on all day, with buyers, sellers and traders haggling from dawn till dusk. Towards the middle of the street are houses, apartments and two inns. And at the far west end is the home and estates of the mysterious mayor of Alley Dark. But Alley Dark is not your average thoroughfare of a city. The hustle and bustle here is more like something from a fantasy or adventure novel! These three friends are quite put off, being lost in a strange place with no where to go and knowing no one. Will three kind strangers help them out? Will they ever get home? Or will they choose to stay? And where did this stalker of a dog come from?!

I've taken too long to get this far. I was born one of the rare humans in Alley Dark, but at a young age I decided to persue wizardry as my career. My teacher once had a bad accident and I had to help him. But something went wrong. We were attacked from out of no where, by the very thing he was summoning. I did something, the only thing I could do, to save our lives. Now I spend much of my night time fighting to supress this dangerous creature that wants out of me. I usually put up a front so my friends don't worry.

I've taken too long to get this far. I was once your typical run-of-the-mill human, but twelve years ago, I met up with a very powerful demon. He promised to give me powers beyond those obtainable by humans, so long as I agreed to work for him for the next two centuries. Only two years later, he was destroyed by his superiors, but in order for his influence to continue, he chose me as a host body. In general he lies dormant, but if needed, he can be summoned and will either give me his full power, or he will manifest himself, and defend me. I do not allow this fact to be known, but am not ashamed of it in the least.

"This secret side of me, I never let you see. I keep it caged but I can't control it. So keep away from me, the beast is ugly. It comes awake and I can't control it."
Alexander woke with a start, his right hand clutching his chest, his left, holding his head. His breathing was ragged and heavy. The sun shone through his bedroom window brightly. It was midmorning, about the time he always got up. As the pain in his body subsided, so did his labored breathing.
Once he was fully under control of himself again, Alexander got out of bed, showered and dressed. He didn't exactly have anywhere to go today, but he didn't want to stay home, where he could slip up again. He left his apartment and emerged onto the brightly sun-lit main road of Alley Dark. He was facing North, which put the rising sun on his right, along with the Market.
Alexander began heading east, passing creatures that would seem strange to anyone not familiar with Alley Dark. He smiled at that thought. "They would probably look odd to us too," he told himself, as he continued walking. The Market was always the place to be, full of shops, restaurants and vendors. It was always where people went for fun and such.
"I must confess that I feel like a monster."

He stumbled toward his home near the graveyard. Despite the fact that he was not affected by sunlight, he still hated it. He would get back to his favorite mausoleum before the sun gave him too much of a headache and ruined his rest. He was glad that everyone in the town was a freak of sorts, it ensured that he did not stand out much, and that he could get back to his mausoleum without anyone messing with him.

Alexander took a breath of the fresh air of the Alley. The street was already getting crowded. Alexander removed his hat, uncovering his white hair. The sun was not yet up all the way but he would soon get over heated if he didn't take it off. He looke up at the sky as he walked, and accidentally bumped into someone. "Oh, I'm sorry," the albino said. He took another step, before he felt his heartrate increase. Taking in a sharp breath, Alexander plmaced his hand over his hearts as a great pain overcame him. He looked back at the guy as he went down on his knees. Who was this guy? Something about him had triggered the beast inside himself, and Alexander was struggling to subdue it again.

Allemon stopped, he could feel a dark presence in the boy. He walked back over to him. "I do apologize, I was most clumsy. Here, let me help you up." he extended a pale cold hand towards the boy, donning a grin that at first seemed sincere, but on closer inspection proved to be a grin of pure demonic delight. He was curious as to who this boy could possibly be, to have such dark energy but be able to hide it so well. He hoped that maybe this kid and the boss had known each other, but he figured this was unlikely, still, this was an odd area and stranger things had happened.
